Bloomsbury Historic District

The Hayes Barton Historic District is a neighborhood located northwest of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Hayes Barton, an upper class neighborhood designed by landscape architect Earle Sumner Draper, contains 457 buildings on 1,750 acres (7.1 km2). The neighborhood design includes roads fitted to the contours of the land and features several public parks. The Hayes Barton neighborhood is roughly bounded by St. Mary's St., Fairview Rd., W. Roanoke Park Dr. (renamed in 2020, formerly Aycock St.), Scales St. and Williamson Dr. In 2002, the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Vanguard Park Historic District is a national historic district located between Bloomsbury and Roanoke Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is one of Raleigh's historic Five Points neighborhoods. Like Roanoke Park, its homes reflect the variety of popular architectural styles from the 1920s through the 1950s and are similar to those found in the nearby prestigious suburb of Hayes Barton, but are more modest in scale. Notably, the popular Colonial style was not used due to Vanguard Park's narrower lots.Construction began in this district along its south and west edges in 1920 with modestly sized American Craftsman bungalows and front-gabled houses. Building slowed considerably during the Depression; homes built in the following years were one- and two-story houses in the Minimal Traditional style. During World War II construction stopped abruptly, only to rebound robustly during the post-war housing shortage. Nearly fifty houses went up in Vanguard Park between 1945 and 1952; Pine Avenue was filled with houses in a single year. Most of these early post-war houses continued to use the Minimal Traditional style.The Gothic Revival style Westminster Presbyterian Church, formerly North Vanguard Church, is the sole institutional building in Vanguard Park.Vanguard Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Roanoke Park Historic District a national historic district located at Raleigh, North Carolina. It is one of the city's historic Five Points neighborhoods and encompasses 446 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. It is situated southeast of the Five Points intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Fairview and Whitaker Mill Roads. Roanoke Park is composed of six separate plats, filed from 1913 to 1926, and is roughly shaped like a diamond.Architecturally, houses with American Craftsman detailing, such as bungalows and American Foursquares, constitute the majority of the neighborhood. However, some of the oldest houses in Five Points are located in Roanoke Park, and these homes employ more vernacular styles, including Greek Revival, side-gabled Triple-A cottages, and narrow shotgun houses, particularly along Sunrise Avenue.Developers created the neighborhood's namesake Roanoke Park subdivision in 1922. Its promoters appealed to white first-time homebuyers and boasted about the suburb's location next to Hayes Barton, an upper-class neighborhood also in Five Points. This section of the neighborhood centers on a park and includes the largest period revival houses.Roanoke Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 as a Historic District.

Mae and Philip Rothstein House is a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1959, and is a one-story, International Style dwelling measuring 80 feet by 27 feet. It has a low-pitched, gable-front roof, with a deep overhang. It features three-tiered floor-to-ceiling windows.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Josephus Daniels House, also known as Wakestone, and later the Masonic Temple of Raleigh, was a historic mansion at 1520 Caswell Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1920, it was the home until his death in 1948 of Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy under President Woodrow Wilson, and a major force in the development of the modern 20th-century United States Navy. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976. After Daniels' death it was purchased by the local Freemasons, who made additions to the building and continued to use it as their meeting hall into the 21st century. The building was demolished in August 2021 to make way for a new development of high end homes.

Raleigh Charter High School is a free, independent public school chartered by the North Carolina State Board of Education. It was founded in 1998 by parents of eighth graders at Magellan Charter School.From its inception through the 2010–2011 school year, Raleigh Charter occupied the historic Pilot Mill behind Peace College in downtown Raleigh. Over the summer of 2011, the school moved to the former Methodist Building on Glenwood Avenue. This location offers proximity to downtown Raleigh; the move, however, was motivated not by dissatisfaction with Pilot Mill, but by financial issues: the school rented its first space, but owns the current one. Raleigh Charter High School is ranked 2nd within North Carolina. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate at Raleigh Charter High School is 95 percent. The student body makeup is 48 percent male and 52 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 37 percent. As of the 2015–2016 school year, the school's 4-year graduation rate was 95%.

Occidental Life Insurance Company Building is a historic office building located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The building is located in Cameron Village, North Carolina's first suburban shopping center. It was built in 1956, and is a four-story, 68,000 square-foot steel frame structure encapsulated in concrete. The building was design by architecture firm Kemp, Bunch & Jackson and in the International Style. It has a brick base, limestone walls, aluminum windows with green-tinted glass, and entrance canopies with rounded aluminum eaves. Prior to moving to this building, the Occidental Life Insurance Company offices were housed in the Professional Building for nearly 30 years.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Light + Time Tower is a sculpture located in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina designed to diffract the morning and afternoon sunlight into vibrant colors visible to the commuters who pass by it. It is located in the median of Capital Boulevard just northeast of the Fairview Road overpass. The Light + Time Tower consists of a 40-foot (12 m) tower supporting 20 panels of clear glass. It was created by internationally known sculptor Dale Eldred and was commissioned by the Raleigh Arts Commission in 1995. Its $51,100 cost was criticized by then-mayoral candidate Tom Fetzer in that year's mayoral race. The tower was defaced with trucker mudflap girls soon after installation, which were affixed in the middle of each panel, but were soon removed.

The Hi-Mount Historic District is a historic neighborhood located two miles north of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The eleven-block district, developed between 1938 and 1951, is one of the city's best-preserved twentieth century speculative neighborhoods. The district encompasses 168 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. Most of Hi-Mount's homes are Minimal Traditional in style, followed by Cape Cod and Ranch homes with sparse detailing. A small number of developers were involved with the district and the district also benefited from government housing financing programs such as the Federal Housing Administration and the Veteran's Administration, resulting in architectural consistency throughout the neighborhood.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
