Yarra Valley Grammar (YVG) is an independent Anglican, co-educational grammar school, located in Ringwood, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Yarra Valley was founded as an all boys Anglican day school in 1966 before transitioning to a co-educational model in 1978. Yarra Valley is a member of AGSV (Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria), and has been periodically ranked amongst the top 50 schools in the state according to ATAR and VCE results, being placed as the 18th school in Victoria in 2022. Yarra Valley Grammar has also produced various notable alumni in the areas of sport, politics and academia, including seventeen professional AFL players, four olympians and two Victorian supreme court judges.

Croydon Hills is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 34 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Maroondah local government area. Croydon Hills recorded a population of 4,839 at the 2021 census.Croydon Hills is bounded by Plymouth Road to the south, Yarra Road to the east and Bemboka Road to the west. The suburb is located in the outer east of Melbourne. Approximately 5,600 people live in Croydon Hills, with the majority of household incomes between the $50k-80k and $80k-$100k mark. The suburb was formerly mixed use farmland and orchards. It was developed into spacious suburban housing during the 1980s. The architectural style is typically single storey, brick veneer, with large allotments affording both front and rear gardens, as well as off-street parking for several vehicles. Croydon Hills has many parks, with walking tracks and native bushlands, such as Settlers Orchard, Yarrunga Reserve, Candlebark Walk and Narr-Maen Reserve. Native birds such as the kookaburra, magpie, galah, sulphur crested cockatoo, magpie-lark, purple swamphen, Eurasian coot, Pacific black duck and Australian wood duck are a common sight in both the parklands and backyard gardens. The common brushtail possum inhabits the area. Croydon Hills has several churches located in the suburb as well, including Baptist, Anglican and Presbyterian. The nearest shopping areas are McAdam Square and Burnt Bridge. McAdam Square has a few different shops such as cafes, a Jefferies supermarket, a fruit and vegetable shop, take-away shops, a travel shop, and a newsagency and post office. The Yarrunga Community Centre is at 76–86 Croydon Hills Drive, in Yarrunga Reserve, adjacent to Croydon Hills Primary School.

Luther College is a co-educational, private secondary school of the Lutheran Church of Australia located in the outer-eastern suburb of Croydon Hills in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It maintains a close relationship with the Outer Eastern Lutheran Church parish of the Lutheran Church of Australia, which congregates in the school's chapel facilities. It provides education for years 7–12.

The electoral district of Warrandyte is an Australian electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is an outer metropolitan electorate and contains the suburbs of Park Orchards, Ringwood North, Warrandyte, Warrandyte North, Warrandyte South, Warranwood, Wonga Park, most of Donvale, and parts of Chirnside Park, Doncaster East, and Ringwood. Warrandyte was originally a marginal seat, being held by the Liberal Party from the creation of the electorate at the 1976 election until it lost government at the 1982 election. The seat was then Labor-held until the 1988 election, when Phil Honeywood became the only Liberal to win a seat from Labor. Honeywood made the seat very secure for the Liberals, to the extent that he comfortably held the seat at the 2002 election, despite over half of his Legislative Assembly colleagues losing their seats. Honeywood became Deputy Leader of the Opposition, before retiring at the 2006 election. Fellow Liberal, Ryan Smith, easily retained the seat. Smith resigned just six months after being re-elected at the 2022 Victorian state election, causing the 2023 Warrandyte state by-election. Nicole Werner retained the seat for the Liberal Party.

Ringwood North is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 30 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Manningham and Maroondah local government areas. Ringwood North recorded a population of 9,964 at the 2021 census.The suburb is mostly located within the City of Maroondah, with a small part in the north west of the suburb being located within the City of Manningham. It is bounded on the south by Loughnan, Warrandyte and Wonga Roads (these roads flow into one another continuously). Glenvale Road forms the westernmost boundary in the southern part of the suburb, with the Warrandyte-Ringwood Road forming the western boundary at the northern end of the suburb. The eastern and northern boundaries follow property lines, rather than roads. Ringwood North Post Office opened on 9 August 1920, in the then rural area.Ringwood North has its own shopping centre and also has plenty of parklands and reserves nearby without being excessively rural, like Wonga Park or Warrandyte. Its roads feature a happy medium between the sterile, parallel streetscapes of Ringwood and the circular, 'contour-line' style streets found in neighbouring Park Orchards. Ringwood North is a surprisingly hilly area, which is especially evident around the aptly named Loughnan's Hill area and the infamously steep Glenvale Road. Glenvale Road also happens to mark the boundary between Ringwood North and Donvale and also the boundary between Maroondah and Manningham. Glenvale Road is also home to an 80-year-old Tudor house of famous heritage.

Norwood Secondary College is a secondary school located in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, situated in Ringwood, Victoria, Australia and right next to Mullum Primary School. Norwood Secondary College, in the City of Maroondah, is a single campus co-educational year 7–12 college with an enrolment of around 1100 students. Year 11 and 12 students can elect to undertake a VCE or VCAL. The year 2018 was Norwood's 60th anniversary.

The electoral district of Croydon is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, located in the east of Melbourne. It was created in the redistribution of electoral boundaries in 2013, and came into effect at the 2014 state election.It largely covers the area of the abolished district of Kilsyth, covering outer eastern suburbs in Melbourne. As of the 2022 Victorian state election, the seat contains the suburbs of Croydon, Croydon Hills, Croydon North, Croydon South, Mooroolbark, Kilsyth, Kilsyth South and Bayswater North in the local government areas of Maroondah City and Yarra Ranges Shire. The abolished seat of Kilsyth was held by Liberal MP David Hodgett, who retained the new seat at the 2014 election.

Maroondah Hospital is a public hospital located in the Melbourne suburb of Ringwood East, Victoria, Australia. Affiliated with Deakin University the hospital provides clinical rotations for students enrolled in years 3 and 4 of the medical student programs, focusing on children's health.The hospital provides secondary acute care, and acute adult mental health services along with an emergency department which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.Services include emergency medicine, general and specialist medicine, general and specialist surgery, critical care services, ambulatory and allied health services. The hospital is a major provider of specialist adult mental health services and provides community adult mental health services throughout Melbourne’s outer-east.

Croydon North is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 36 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Maroondah local government area. Croydon North recorded a population of 8,092 at the 2021 census. Croydon has 3 major shopping strips, two on either side of Maroondah Highway (continuing shortly down Dorset and Exeter roads) and the other on Exeter Road just next to Kinta Ct. Croydon North is within the City of Maroondah and is in the Barngeong ward (effective 24 August 2020) which is currently represented by Independent Marijke Graham. The area is served by both the MFB and CFA. The suburb is home to plenty parks, paths and reserves and has a great recreational walking and cycling culture.

The name 'Maroondah' was taken from two Aboriginal words - meaning "throwing" and "leaf" - symbolising the green environment.Suburbs located in the City include Ringwood, Croydon, Heathmont, Ringwood East, Ringwood North, Warranwood, Croydon North, Croydon South, Croydon Hills, Bayswater North and parts of Kilsyth South, Vermont and Park Orchards. The Lilydale and Belgrave railway lines run through the City of Maroondah, with stations at Heatherdale, Ringwood, Ringwood East, Croydon, and Heathmont. The Maroondah City Council is served by many buses operated by Ventura, Kinetic, McKenzies and V/Line. Maroondah Hospital, a large public hospital located in Ringwood East serves Maroondah and the surrounding areas. Maroondah contracts JJ Richards for their garbage collection and have 3 bins: A 240-litre blue-lidded bin for recycling, a 240-litre lime green-lidded bin for food organics and garden organics (FOGO) and a 120-litre red-lidded bin for waste/landfill collection (an 80-litre bin is also available). Prior to 2023, the bin lids were maroon for garden organics (only) and green for waste/landfill and food organics.

Croydon railway station is a commuter railway station on the Lilydale line, serving the eastern Melbourne suburb of Croydon, Victoria, Australia. Croydon is a premium status ground structure station featuring two side platforms. It opened on 1 December 1882 as Warrandyte before being renamed Croydon on 1 August 1884.
