Moara Vlasiei Cricket Ground

Moara Vlăsiei is a commune in the northern part of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. Its name means "Mill of Wallachia[n forest]", and was called Căciulați until 1968, when its administrative center was moved from the village of Căciulați to Moara Vlăsiei (a village previously named Moara Săracă— the Poor Mill). It is composed of two villages, Căciulați and Moara Vlăsiei. The village is home to Moara Vlăsiei Cricket Ground, the only cricket field in Romania.Train stations in Căciulați and Moara Vlăsiei serve the CFR Line 700, which connects Bucharest with the Moldovan border at Giurgiulești.

Dascălu is a commune in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Creața, Dascălu, Gagu and Runcu. Its name is derived from an obsolete Romanian word for "teacher". The Mostiștea river has its source in Gagu village.

Petrăchioaia is a commune in the east of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Măineasca, Surlari, Petrăchioaia, and Vânători. Its name is a feminine form of Petrache, which in turn is a name of Greek origin, derived from Petrakis.

Balotești is a commune in the northwestern part of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. Two small rivers flow through this location: Cociovaliștea and Vlăsia. It is composed of three villages: Balotești, Dumbrăveni, and Săftica. The commune is named after an 18th-century boyar, Balotă, who owned local lands.Stadionul Central is a multi-use stadium in the commune; it is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of CS Balotești. On 31 March 1995, a TAROM Romanian Airbus A310 crashed near Balotești, leaving 60 dead (see Tarom Flight 371).

TAROM Flight 371 was a scheduled international passenger flight, with an Airbus A310 from Otopeni International Airport in Romania's capital Bucharest to Brussels Airport in Brussels, Belgium. The flight was operated by TAROM, the flag carrier of Romania. On 31 March 1995, the Airbus A310-324, registered as YR-LCC, entered a nose-down dive after takeoff and crashed near Balotești in Romania. All 60 people aboard were killed in the crash.Investigation of the crash revealed that a faulty auto-throttle reduced the left engine to idle during climb. While this was happening, the captain became incapacitated (possible heart attack), leaving the first officer to react instinctively, over the final 60 seconds of the flight, based on his training and experience – but as he spent most of his flying career flying Soviet-built planes with a different style Attitude Direction Indicator than on the A310, he was unable to respond properly to the situation. The crash was the deadliest plane crash in Romania's history. It was also the deadliest plane crash in TAROM's operational history.

Stadionul Central is a multi-use stadium in Balotești, Romania. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of CS Balotești. The stadium holds 3,780 people.
