Barry Comprehensive School

Whitmore High School is a co-educational secondary school situated in Barry, Wales.

Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg (previously Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg) is a Welsh medium comprehensive school in the town of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, on the coast of south Wales. It is located adjacent to Barry Hospital. The school was established in September 2000, in what was formerly the Lower School of Barry Comprehensive School. By 2002, there were 24 teachers and 369 pupils in year 7 to 9 at the school. A quarter of the pupils came from homes where one parent could speak Welsh, and 6% came from homes where both parents could speak Welsh. The school won over 7 awards at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in 2017, and is typically successful for its all-round talents in all fields.

Barry Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Cymunedol Y Barri) is a hospital on Colcot Road in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is managed by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

Cwm Talwg is a north-western district and large housing estate complex within the town of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan ten miles outside Cardiff in south Wales. It is on the outskirts of the main town and links to Pontypridd Road and the A4050 road out of Barry. Prior to the housing development of Cwm Talwg, it was a pig farm; cows, pigs and sheep roamed freely. in 1978 the EC announced the "construction of 104 houses, 20 flats, 31 flats in sheltered accommodation with warden's bungalow and associated site works."Cwm Talwg has two small forests which are maintained by woodland volunteers and have paths leading from Usk Way to Severn Avenue or Elan Close to Highlight Park. Community walks are often organised through the Cwm Talwg woods. Cwm Talwg contains All Saints' Church in Wales Primary School, a voluntary aided school, sponsored by the Church in Wales. It had 236 pupils aged 3–11 as of 2002. It 2002 opened a new nursery unit designed by Nigel Arnold and built by the Dineen Brothers.

Colcot is a northern district of Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, in the Dyfan ward of South Wales. Dyfan ward is situated in the north west of Barry and its most northern edge is on the green belt of the town. Port Road West runs through the ward and is the main route to Cardiff and Cardiff International Airport in Rhoose. Dyfan benefits from a sports centre and Buttrills recreation field and The Barry Hospital can be found on Colcot Road. It also contains the Colcot Primary School, the Colcot Arms pub, the St David's Methodist Church, Coastlands Family Church, a fish and chip shop/Chinese takeaway, Barry Arts Centre and Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery.

Great Brynhill is a small hamlet and farm in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales. It consists little more than a few farms including the Little Brynhill Farm and Thorn Falcon Farm (Little Brynhill) and the Great Brynhill Farm. It is located in the historical parish of Merthyr Dyfan and near Colcot now northern districts of the town of Barry. It is accessed via a lane from Port Road (the A4050 road) but can also be accessed from Dyffryn along the lane to the New Wallace Farm and Goldsland which lie just to the northeast. "Bryn" means "hill" in Welsh, so the name literally means "Great hill hill". The Little Brynhill Farm is owned by the Tanner family who are notable milk suppliers in Barry under the company name "W. A. Tanner & Son". One of the farms sold off some of their land along with neighbouring Highlight Farm when Brynhill Golf Club was formed in 1921. According to the Barry & District News, Thorn Falcon Farm sold for £400,000 on 25 November 2005.

The Memo Arts Centre, formerly known as Barry Memorial Hall or Memorial Hall & Theatre, popularly known as The Memo, is a prominent venue in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, currently the "largest multi-arts venue in the Vale of Glamorgan, and only cinema exhibitor in Barry". It is situated in the Gladstone neighbourhood on Gladstone Road, off Holton Road. It was inaugurated in November 1932, and obtained its name in remembrance of those locals who lost their lives in World War I.It regularly hosts arts events and concerts, including live music, dance, and pantomime, workshops, and community events. It also hosts a nightclub for teenagers on Friday evenings which is very popular with the youth of the town. The main auditorium of the hall has a capacity of 886 people, 1,300 including standing. Over the years, artists as diverse as PJ & Duncan and Len Rawle have performed at the hall.

Romilly is a western district of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, United Kingdom. The area has an attractive public park which includes an extensive field and tennis court facilities. It is located around the corner from Cold Knap. An educational centre was built on Romilly Road in 1957.

Barry railway station (Welsh: Y Barri) is one of three stations serving the town of Barry, Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. It is one of three stations in Barry. This one, Barry Town, is preceded by Barry Docks and Cadoxton stations on the Barry Branch which runs from Cardiff Central to a fourth station at Barry Island, the terminus. Barry is also the junction at the start of the Vale of Glamorgan Line which serves Rhoose and Llantwit Major and terminates at Bridgend. Passenger services are operated by Transport For Wales as part of the Valley Lines network.

The Welsh Hawking Centre and Children's Animal Park is a hawking centre on Weycock Road (A4226 road) on the northwestern outskirts of Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, in southern Wales. It contains the largest collection of birds of prey in Wales, with over 200 birds on site including eagles, owls, hawks, falcons and buzzards.In 2007 seven falcon chicks were stolen from the centre.

Barry (Welsh: Y Barri pronounced [ə ˈbarɪ]) is a town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, on the north coast of the Bristol Channel approximately 9 miles (14 km) south-southwest of Cardiff. Barry is a seaside resort, with attractions including several beaches and the resurrected Barry Island Pleasure Park. According to Office for National Statistics 2016 estimate data, the population of Barry was 54,673. Once a small village, Barry has absorbed its larger neighbouring villages of Cadoxton and Barry Island, and now, Sully. It grew significantly from the 1880s with the development of Barry Docks, which in 1913 was the largest coal port in the world.
