The Alfragide Towers (Portuguese: Torres de Alfragide) are a set of residential buildings in Alfragide, Amadora, Portugal. The complex consists of three residential towers and a shopping centre at ground level, connecting the three buildings. It also contains an underground car park and a complex of swimming pools, currently unused. It is an example of brutalism-influenced architecture.

Alfragide (Portuguese pronunciation: [aɫfɾɐˈʒidɨ]) is a parish in Amadora Municipality. The population in 2011 was 17,044, in an area of 2.51 km².Its patron saint is Our Lady of Fatima. In the extreme south of the parish is located in the first IKEA store in Portugal as part of a major shopping areas of Lisbon. This shopping area also extends to the parishes of Buraca and, specially, Carnaxide (Oeiras).

Buraca (Portuguese pronunciation: [buˈɾakɐ]) is a former civil parish, located in the municipality of Amadora, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish of Águas Livres. As of the 2011 Census, it had a population of 15 892. It had an area of 1.66 square kilometers. The southern area of the parish included the first Decathlon store in Portugal, integrated in the main shopping areas of the Lisbon metropolitan area. This shopping area also extends to the parishes of Alfragide and Carnaxide. Before the dissolution of the parish, its area was also the location of the headquarters of the Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia (LNEG) and the Directorate-General Environment (DGA).

Águas Livres is a Portuguese urban civil parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Amadora. The population in 2011 was 37,426. It was created in 2011, incorporating most of the area from the former parishes of Buraca, Damaia, and Reboleira. It is bordered by the parishes of Alfragide, to the south, Falagueira – Venda Nova, to the north, Venteira to the west and Benfica to the east. It takes its name from the most significant landmark in its territory, the Águas Livres Aqueduct.

Algés River (Portuguese pronunciation: [aɫˈʒɛʃ]) flows into the Tagus River in Algés Parish, Portugal. Since Algés grew, some parts of the river were covered, and now it runs under the ground, including the final stretch to the sea.

On 21 October 2024, Odair Moreno Moniz, a native of Cape Verde and an immigrant in Portugal, died after being shot by a Public Security Police (PSP) officer during a police chase in the Cova da Moura neighbourhood of Amadora. The death of Moniz led to a wave of riots in the Zambujal neighborhood where he lived, which included the looting and arson of two buses. On the night of 22 to 23 October, the riots had spread to six municipalities in the Lisbon metropolitan area, with incidents recorded in sixty police stations in the municipalities of Lisbon, Loures, Amadora, Sintra, Cascais, and Setúbal, which included garbage containers and vehicles being set on fire. Two PSP officers were injured by stone throwing and received hospital treatment.

The Circuito de Monsanto, or Monsanto Park Circuit, was a 5.440 km (3.380 mi) race track in Monsanto Forest Park, near Lisbon, Portugal which hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix. Built on parklands, the circuit was considered difficult to drive because it crossed so many different types of surfaces, including tramlines at one point. The track hosted numerous races from 1954 to 1959, but only one race qualified as a Formula One event: the 1959 Portuguese Grand Prix, won by Stirling Moss. He won the race in the twilight hours, since the race was purposely started late in the day to avoid the intense late summer sun.

The Mama lighthouse (Portuguese: Farol da Mama) is located in the Carnaxide Sierra (Portuguese: Serra de Carnaxide) of the municipality of Oeiras, in Lisbon District, Portugal. It is built on a round hill, known as the Mama Sul, next to a Geodesic landmark. The Mama Lighthouse is about 4 km inland, northwest of Belém, and combines with the Esteiro and Gibalta lighthouses to indicate the alignment of the southern entrance to the Port of Lisbon.

Benfica Station (Portuguese: Estação Ferroviária de Benfica) is a railway station located in the city of Lisbon. It is served by the Sintra and Azambuja Lines. It is managed by Infraestruturas de Portugal.

Clube Futebol Benfica (Portuguese pronunciation: [bɐ̃jˈfikɐ]), commonly known as Futebol Benfica, or simply as Fofó (Portuguese pronunciation: [fɔˈfɔ]), is a Portuguese sports club based in the Benfica neighborhood of Lisbon. The club was founded on 23 March 1933; however, the origins of the club can be traced back to 1895. Futebol Benfica is mostly known for its men's football, women's football, field hockey and roller hockey teams. The men's football team competes in the Regional league. Previously it competed in the newly created Campeonato Nacional de Seniores, a competition created in 2013 after the merging of the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão (third and fourth tiers of the Portuguese football league system). The women's football team plays in the national top league, the Campeonato Nacional. Both teams play at the Estádio Francisco Lázaro, where they have been playing ever since the establishment of the club. The home colours are red and black. Futebol Benfica is an independent club without any affiliation or connection with the better-known Sport Lisboa e Benfica, a neighboring club of much larger dimensions.

The Monsanto Tower (Portuguese: Torre de Monsanto) is a 394-foot (120 m) skyscraper in Oeiras, a town and municipality to the west of Lisbon which is part of the Portuguese capital's urban agglomeration. Finished in 2001, the 17-floor building is the second tallest in Portugal, and the tallest in Lisbon. Lisbon-based architectural firm Sua Kay Architects designed the 21,000-square-metre (230,000 sq ft) office building.

Campo da Feiteira was a football dirt field in Lisbon, Portugal. It started as field for Grupo Sport de Benfica to organize Sports Festivals. On 26 May 1907, Grupo Sport de Benfica officially taken over of Quinta da Feiteira, next to Estrada de Benfica, having from now on, a 120 meters per 79 metres field, for $20 a semester. On 14 July 1907 it celebrated here, the first anniversary of Grupo Sport de Benfica. Grupo Sport Lisboa (GSL) did not have a field in its originating area (Belém) but since some of its members were also members of GSB, they knew about Campo da Feiteira, and despite their quality, it was not used for football. So on 24 November 1907, Grupo Sport Lisboa played for the first time in Campo da Feiteira, even thought as neutral field, counting to the Lisbon Football Championship, Grupo Sport Lisboa beat Internacional (CIF). In March 1908, Grupo Sport Benfica changes its name to Sport Clube de Benfica. On 13 September 1908, after absorbing its members and the playing field of Grupo Sport Benfica, Grupo Sport Lisboa adds Benfica to its name, becoming then Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SLB) and playing in Campo da Quinta da Feiteira. Sport Lisboa e Benfica left after excessive rent, $400 for semester. They moved to Campo de Sete Rios. Campo da Feiteira was converted into houses.
