Shaw University

Estey Hall is a historic building on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was the first building constructed for the higher education of African-American women in the United States. Built in 1873, Estey Hall is the oldest surviving building at Shaw, which is the oldest historically black college in the South and was the second institution of higher learning established for freedmen after the Civil War. The building, originally known as "Estey Seminary," was named in honor of Jacob Estey, the largest donor to the construction project. Estey Hall, located in the East Raleigh-South Park Historic District, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and is a Raleigh Historic Landmark.

Rogers-Bagley-Daniels-Pegues House is a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1855, and is a two-story, three bay by two bay, Greek Revival-style frame dwelling with a low hipped roof and Italianate-style accents. It has a hip roofed porch with Doric order posts and bay windows. It was built by Sion Hart Rogers (1825-1874), a Congressman from and Attorney General of North Carolina. It was the home of Josephus Daniels (1862-1948) from about 1894 to 1913.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The East Raleigh–South Park Historic District is the largest historically African-American neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. The district, located south and east of downtown Raleigh, covers approximately 30 blocks and contains portions of the Smith–Haywood and St. Petersburg neighborhoods. Most homes in these neighborhoods were built between 1900 and 1940, with one-fifth dating back to the 19th century. Historic buildings in the district include Estey Hall and Leonard Hall, both located on the campus of Shaw University. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in October 1990. During the 1980's and 1990's portions of the district were redeveloped by the City of Raleigh housing authority in a slum clearance exercise in an effort to redevelop the neighborhood and improve infrastructure.

The Masonic Temple Building located at 133 Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, North Carolina was the state's first reinforced concrete skyscraper. Constructed in 1907 by Grand Lodge of North Carolina, the building represents the growth of Raleigh in the early 20th century and rise of the influence of Masons. The Masonic Temple Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and is a Raleigh Historic Landmark.It's one of two Raleigh places of the same name on the National Register of Historic Places, the other being the Masonic Temple Building located on Blount Street, which was also built in 1907.

The Masonic Temple Building, built in 1907, is an historic Prince Hall Masonic building located at 427 South Blount Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a three-story, red brick flat roofed building. It has a metal cornice at the top of the first floor level and a cast iron Corinthian order column at the corner. On May 3, 1984, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.Today it is occupied by Widow's Son Lodge #4 and Excelsior Lodge #21 as well as barber shops and a beauty salon.It is one of two places of the same name in Raleigh on the National Register of Historic Places, the other being the much larger Masonic Temple Building, Fayetteville Street (Raleigh, North Carolina), which was also built in 1907.

Leonard Hall is a historic educational building located on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1881 and originally named Leonard Medical Center, it became known as Leonard Medical School, and then Leonard Hall. It was established when medical schools were professionalizing and was the first medical school in the United States to offer a four-year curriculum. It was also the first four-year medical school that African Americans could attend.The building was named after Judson Wade Leonard, the brother-in-law of Shaw's founder Henry Martin Tupper. Classes began in 1882 and the annual tuition was $60, a substantial sum at the time. It is a contributing part of the East Raleigh-South Park Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. In 1994 it was designated a North Carolina Historic Landmark. Shaw University is the oldest historically black college in the South and often called the "mother of African-American colleges in North Carolina", because its alumni founded other colleges. It is named after Elijah Shaw, an entrepreneur from Massachusetts who contributed financially for the establishment of the school.On March 31, 1886, it awarded the college's first medical degrees to six men. Leonard Medical Center was one of fourteen medical schools founded in the late 19th century for the education of African-Americans. Describing the history of the building, then-President Talbert O. Shaw said, "For Shaw University and the black community, it stands out as one of the bastions of education for our people. We are very proud of it."

The Pope House Museum, built in 1901, is a restored home once owned by Dr. Manassa Thomas Pope, a prominent African-American citizen of Raleigh, North Carolina. The Pope House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, It was an official project of the Save America’s Treasures Program and the city of Raleigh took over management of it, offering tours for the first time in 2012.

Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts is the premier location for cultural arts and entertainment in Raleigh, North Carolina. The center consists of four unique venues, Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, Meymandi Concert Hall, A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater, and Kennedy Theatre. Hosting over 600 events each year and welcoming over 400,000 guests, the Martin Marietta Center is a cultural focal point in downtown Raleigh. The naming rights to the center currently are held by Martin Marietta. The building naming rights were previously held by Duke Energy (formerly Progress Energy), and by Business Telecom, Inc. North Carolina Theatre is a professional theatre located in Raleigh, North Carolina. They perform four mainstage shows each year at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium and the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theatre in the Martin Marrietta Center for the Performing Arts, formerly the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. It was founded by De Ann S. Jones and is currently managed by Eric Woodall, the executive director of the company. Woodall succeeded Elizabeth Doran in the summer of 2023, who succeeded former CEO, Lisa Grele Barrie, in 2017. Several Broadway veterans are said to have started their careers at North Carolina Theatre, including Clay Aiken, Sharon Lawrence, Lauren Kennedy, and Beth Leavel.

One City Plaza, formerly called One Bank of America Plaza, is a 17-story skyscraper located at 421 Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, North Carolina with 367,225 square feet (34,116.3 m2).

Red Hat Tower is the headquarters of Red Hat. It is located at Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. It was completed in 2004 at a cost of $100 million as a headquarters for Progress Energy Inc and has 19 floors and 366,000 square feet (34,000 m2) of space. It is owned by J.P. Morgan Trust Co.

One Progress Plaza is a high-rise building in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was completed in 1977 as a headquarters for Carolina Power & Light (now Progress Energy Inc) and has 21 floors and 440,000 square feet (41,000 m2) of space. It is owned by Hawthorn Associates. Former names include Center Plaza, CP&L Building, and Progress Energy Building. In 1999, Carolina Power & Light announced plans for a new headquarters tower. The 2000 merger with Florida Progress Corporation which created Progress Energy increased the need for the new building. The company bought the two-acre site east of the existing headquarters in 2000.On August 27, 2003, Progress Energy named its headquarters Progress Plaza, intending the name to refer to its entire complex of buildings. Once the new headquarters was complete, the plan was to call the existing headquarters One Progress Plaza and the new building Two Progress Plaza.The January 2011 announcement that Progress will merge with Duke Energy left the status of One Progress Plaza in question, since completion of the merger would likely mean the company needs less space. However, on August 25, 2011, Red Hat announced plans to take over Two Progress Plaza, which forced Progress Energy to move its entire Raleigh operation into One Progress Plaza upon completion of the merger.
