Profitis Daniil (Greek: Προφήτης Δανιήλ pronounced [pɾoˈfi.tis ðaniˈil]) meaning 'Prophet Daniel' is a neighborhood of Athens, Greece. It takes its name from the main church on Athinon Avenue.

Pieridis Museum is a museum in Athens, Greece. Its collection includes items dating back almost nine thousand years, from the neolithic period to the Middle Ages. They are a part of the archaeological collection of the Pierides Museum in Larnaca, Cyprus. It is situated in the Athinais Culture Center in Votanikos, about 2 km west of downtown Athens.

The Academy (Ancient Greek: Ἀκαδημία, romanized: Akademía) was founded by Plato in c. 387 BC in Athens. Aristotle studied there for twenty years (367–347 BC) before founding his own school, the Lyceum. The Academy persisted throughout the Hellenistic period as a skeptical school, until coming to an end after the death of Philo of Larissa in 83 BC. The Platonic Academy was destroyed by the Roman dictator Sulla in 86 BC.

Akadimia Platonos (Greek: Ακαδημία Πλάτωνος pronounced [akaðiˈmia ˈpla.to.nos]) literally meaning Plato's Academy, is a neighbourhood located 3 km (2 mi) west-northwest of the downtown part of the Greek capital of Athens.

The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA; Greek: Γεωπονικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών) is the third oldest university in Greece. Since 1920, it has made contributions to Greek agricultural and economic development, by conducting basic and applied research in Agricultural Science and Technology.The university is situated in the neighborhood of Votanikos, on a 25-hectare green campus that straddles both sides of the historic Iera Odos (the Sacred Way of antiquity), close to the Acropolis, at the heart of the ancient Olive Grove.

Patsi Street (Greek: Οδός Σπύρου Πατσή) is a street in the western part of the center of the Greek capital city of Athens. It was named after Spyridon Patsis, a former mayor of Athens. It connects Athinon Avenue in the north with Konstantinopouleos Avenue in the south. The street also crosses Iera Odos.

The Greek Film Archive (Greek: Ταινιοθήκη της Ελλάδος, Tainiothiki tis Ellados) is a nonprofit film archive organization located in Athens, Greece, whose goal is to produce and spread Greek and international films. It's a part of International Federation of Film Archives and a founding member of the European Film Gateway. It is also co-operating with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Votanikos (Greek: Βοτανικός, pronounced [votaniˈkos]) is a neighborhood in Athens, Greece. The area is named after a nearby botanical garden situated to the southwest (Athens Botanical Gardens). The eastern part are residential, the western part are forested and industrialized. The subdivision has no squares but has a nearby school. Major streets bordering this subdivision includes Patsi Street to the west, Athinon Avenue to the north, Konstantinopouleos Avenue and the rail to the south and Petrou Ralli Avenue to the south. The Iera Odos runs in the middle. The population is around 5,000–6,000 people and the area is about 0.5 km². Athens's first mosque will be in Votanikos district.

The Peloponnese Railway Station (Greek: Σταθμός Πελοποννήσου, romanized: Stathmos Peloponnisou) was a station on the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese Railways (SPAP) metre gauge line in Athens. Originally opened on 30 June 1884 it was the first railway terminal in the Greek capital. In 1904, a very short distance from the Peloponnese Station, the "Larissa Station" was inaugurated, the original owner of which was the Hellenic State Railways (SEK), which served trains to and from northern Greece. The station closed in 2005.

Kerameikos (Greek: Κεραμεικός) is a station on Athens Metro Line 3. It opened on 26 May 2007 as part of the Egaleo extension.

Kolonos (Greek: Κολωνός, pronounced [ko.loˈnos]) is a densely populated working-class district of Athens. It is named after the ancient deme, Hippeios Colonus. The district hosts a multi-year football club, Attikos F.C., that was founded in 1919.

The Second Siege of the Acropolis in 1826–1827 during the Greek War of Independence involved the siege of the Acropolis of Athens, the last fortress still held by the Greek rebels in Central Greece, by the forces of the Ottoman Empire.
