Brauron (/ˈbrɔːrɒn/;Ancient Greek: Βραυρών) was one of the twelve cities of ancient Attica, but never mentioned as a deme, though it continued to exist down to the latest times. It was situated on or near the eastern coast of Attica, between Steiria and Halae Araphenides, near the river Erasinus. Brauron is celebrated on account of the worship of Artemis Brauronia, in whose honour a festival was celebrated in this place. This site includes the remains of a temple, a stoa (colonnaded walkway), and a theatre, providing insights into the religious practices and social life of ancient Greece. Its significance as a religious and cultural site can be further understood through the exploration of its archeological remains and historical accounts.

The Brauron Archaeological Museum is a museum in Markopoulo Mesogeias, Greece. Much of the collection is derived from excavations in the Sanctuary of Artemis at Brauron. Of note is a statue representing a small girl, a so-called "bear" (arktoi) (Medvedicka).

Philaidae or Philaidai (Ancient Greek: Φιλαΐδαι) was a deme of ancient Attica, which appears to have been near Brauron, since it is said to have derived its name from Philaeus, the son of the Telamonian Ajax, who dwelt in Brauron. Philaïdae was the deme of Peisistratus.Its site is located about 0.25 miles (0.40 km) west of the basilica at Brauron.

Angele (Ancient Greek: Ἀγγελή) was a deme of ancient Attica, of the phyle of Pandionis, sending two, three, or four delegates to the Athenian Boule. Its site is located near modern Angelisi.

Steiria (Ancient Greek: Στείρια) was a deme of ancient Attica on the east coast, between Prasiae and Brauron. Stiris in Phocis is said to have been founded by the inhabitants of this deme. The road from Attica to Steiria and the harbour of Prasiae was called the Στειριακὴ ὁδός. Steiria, located west of Porto Rafti, was the deme of Theramenes and Thrasybulus.

Porto Rafti (Greek: Πόρτο Ράφτη), officially named Limin Markopoulou (Λιμήν Μαρκοπούλου), is a seaside resort town located in East Attica, Greece. Porto Rafti's main source of income is tourism and winemaking. It is part of the municipality of Markopoulo Mesogaias. In the 2011 census data, its permanent population was 9,686. Today, the permanent population is believed to be closer to 15,000, peaking at 100,000 every year during the summer season.

The Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre hosted the equestrian events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The venue is located at Markópoulo on the outskirts of the Athens suburbs. It was completed in December 2003 and officially opened on August 12, 2004, shortly before the beginning of the competition. The capacity of the venue is 10,000 for the Jumping Event, 8,100 seats for the Dressage and 15,000 seats for the Cross-Country Event.In June 2007, Markopoulo Equestrian Centre held the three super special stages of the 54th Acropolis Rally. The site is also home to horse racing competitions and hosted the FEI European Jumping Championship for Children in June 2008.

Myrrhinus or Myrrinous (Ancient Greek: Μυρρινοῦς) was a deme of ancient Attica. It lay to the east of Prasiae. Artemis Colaenis was worshipped at Myrrhinus; and in one of the inscriptions recovered at Merenda mention is made of a temple of Artemis Colaenis.The site of Myrrhinus is located near modern Merenda.The recent excavation at the new Equestrian Centre at Merenda, Markopoulo, where the ancient 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘴 of Myrrhinous is located, gives some idea of the aspect of the centre of the aforesaid 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘪. Here, in the middle of the flat space lying between the foothills of the homonymous mountain and the low vine-planted hills, a peripteral temple, probably dedicated to Artemis Kolainis, one of the most important in the city, and a sanctuary of Aphrodite have been brought to light at the crossroad of the two central arteries of the 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘴, which are lined at intervals by cemeteries, classical tomb enclosures and two sanctuaries. Identified and excavated around the temple, at some distance, were three porticoed buildings of public character, in no particular order, the sanctuary of a phratry, and very close behind it, a monumental fountain that had been reconstructed in Roman times, while farmhouses extended on the small hills around.

It began operation on 28 March 2001 (in time for the 2004 Summer Olympics) and is the main base of Aegean Airlines, as well as other smaller Greek airlines. It replaced the old Ellinikon International Airport.Athens International Airport is currently a member of Group 1 of Airports Council International (over 25 million passengers). As of 2022, it is the 19th-busiest airport in Europe and the busiest and largest in the Balkans.

The Athens International Airport Archaeological Collection is a museum on level 2 outside security in the main terminal building of Athens International Airport in Spata, Attica, Greece. The collection was established in 2003 and houses 177 ancient artefacts which were uncovered during construction work at the site, once a flourishing agricultural area in ancient times.

The railway from Athens Airport to Patras is a double-track, standard-gauge railway line in Greece that, when completed, will connect Athens International Airport with Patras, the country's third-largest city. One of the largest railway projects of the last 30 years in Greece, its completion is of major significance for the infrastructure of the entire region of the northern Peloponnese. As of 2020, the line is completed until the city of Aigio. A 5.2 km underground section is planned for the final section from Kastellokampos to Agios Andreas in Patras. For most of the section between Athens Airport in East Attica and Mandra in West Attica, the line runs along the median strip of the Attiki Odos motorway.

Athens Airport (Greek: Αεροδρόμιο, Aerodromio), also known as Athens International Airport (Greek: Διεθνής Αερολιμένας Αθηνών, Diethnis Aerolimenas Athinon) on signage, is a railway station and metro station that serves the international airport of Athens, Greece. It operates on both the Athens Suburban Railway as well as Line 3 of the Athens Metro. It is the first and only train station in Greece that is not managed by Gaiose. It is owned by the airport, which charges the train operating companies (Hellenic Train and STASY) fees to use it.
