Georgios Kalafatis Sports Center is the training ground and academy base of the Greek football club Panathinaikos since 2013. In 2013, Giannis Alafouzos, president of Panathinaikos FC, decided the move of the club from the previous training center of Paiania to a new one, owned by the team. The ground was bought by the previous owner, Panionios F.C., and was named "Georgios Kalafatis" in honour of the founder of Panathinaikos.Since then, it has been a gradual upgrade of the facilities.

Kropia (Greek: Κρωπία) is a municipality in East Attica, Greece and has a land area of 102.0 km2. The soil is very fertile (something common in the Mediterranean) and many crops are grown on it, most importantly vineyards, olives, figs, pistachios, honey and vegetables. Its population was 30,307 at the 2011 census. The seat of the municipality is in the town of Koropi (pop. 19,164). In descending order of population, its other villages are Kítsi (pop. 4,788), Agía Marína (3,765), Karellás (1,579), and Ágios Dimítrios (1,011). Olympic Air has its head office in Kropia.

Cicynna or Kikynna (Ancient Greek: Κίκυννα) was a deme of ancient Attica of the phyle of Acamantis, sending two or three delegates to the Athenian Boule.It was the native deme of Strepsiades, the protagonist in Aristophanes' The Clouds. Representing the generality of the deme, Aristophanes depicts this character as a prosperous farmer and attentive to his lazy son. Probably Cicynna had his own diasia, the most important festival to Zeus in Attica, in which the god was honored as Zeus Meilichius: this is evident from a passage from the aforementioned comedy by Aristophanes. The party was held on the 23rd of Anthesterion (around the beginning of March); the richest people offered sacrifices, and the poorest burned incense. Its site is tentatively located near modern Chalidou.

Upper Lamptrai, or Lamptrai Kathyperthen (Ancient Greek: Λαμπτραὶ καθύπερθεν) or Lamptra Kathyperthen (Λάμπτρα καθύπερθεν), was a deme of ancient Attica. Lamptrai Kathyperthen and nearby Coastal Lamptrai (Lamptrai Paraloi) were between Anagyrus, Thorae, and Aegilia. At Lamptra the grave of Cranaus was shown.The site of Upper Lamptrai was near modern Lambrika.

The Paiania training ground is a training ground and academy base, previously used by the Greek football club Panathinaikos FC. It was officially opened on June 19, 1981.Located in Paiania and covering 70 acres it is used since 1981.

Koropi (Greek: Κορωπί, Greek pronunciation: [ko.ro.ˈpi]) is a suburban town in East Attica, Greece. It is the seat of the municipality Kropia. It has been home to the new training facilities of Panathinaikos football club since the summer of 2013.

Paiania (Greek: Παιανία, Greek pronunciation: [pe.a.ˈni.a], before 1915: Λιόπεσι - Liopesi, pronounced [ˈʎo.pe.si]; Arvanitika: Λοπε̱σ romanized: Lopës) is a town and a municipality in East Attica, Greece. It is an eastern suburb of Athens, located east of Mount Hymettus. It is 11 km east of Athens city centre. Paiania is home to the Vorres Museum of Folk and Contemporary Art, the Foundation European Art Center (EUARCE) of Greece. the broadcasting facilities of Greek television station Oren TV and the former training facilities of football club Panathinaikos FC. Greek National Road 89 passes through the town, Motorway 6 passes east of it. The town was renamed to reflect association with the ancient deme of Paeania.

The Vorres Museum is a diachronic museum of folk and contemporary art in Paiania, Athens, Greece. Its grounds cover 80 acres (320,000 m2) including several buildings, gardens and courtyards. Its collection includes over 6000 pieces covering 4000 years of Greek history and art. The museum has been donated by the Vorres family to the Greek state. Its President and Founder was Greek philanthropist Ian Vorres (1924 - 2015), who studied art in Canada at Queen's University in Kingston Ontario and the University of Toronto. While there he met HIH Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna,(the sister of Russia's last Czar Nicholas II) who asked him to write her biography, which was published in 1962 as The Last Grand Duchess.

Mihalis Filopoulos (Greek: Μιχάλης Φιλόπουλος; 1985–2007) was a 22-year-old Panathinaikos fan who was stabbed to death on March 29, 2007, at Paiania, a town near Athens, Greece, during a pre-arranged clash with rival hooligans of Olympiakos. His death caused major upset in Greece and sparked a large police investigation into the organised supporters' scene.

The Vari Cave, also known as the Nympholyptos Cave (Greek: Σπήλαιο Νυμφολήπτου Βάρης), is a small cave northeast of Vari in Attica, Greece. In classical antiquity the cave was used as a shrine dedicated to Apollo, Pan and the Nymphs. The cave was occupied from the sixth to second century BC. The cave then fell into disuse until it was occupied again in the fourth century AD. It was finally abandoned in approximately the sixth century. The cave was excavated in 1901. It lies near the top of one of the southern spurs of Mount Hymettus at an altitude of almost 300 meters. From Vari, it can be reached on foot in one hour. The cave is unique in Greece because of its rock-cut sculptures. The marble votive tablets from the cave are now exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Because of its use for the veneration of Pan the cave is also called the Cave of Pan. It was one of the five caves of Pan in the vicinity of ancient Athens.

Sykia (Greek: Συκιά, Sykia) is a small doline in Athens, Greece. The doline, which has a depth of about 20 metres (66 ft), has been known since the mid-1940s and is located near the Hymettan peak of Korakovouni at an altitude of approximately 300 m above sea level. It takes its name from the fig tree growing in the debris cone on the doline floor. It is next to the asphalt road continuing from the cemetery of Voula. The doline was first recorded by a British airman immediately following the Second World War and was investigated soon after. It is now frequently used as a good practice area for single rope technique by Athenian caving clubs. It lies very close to the better known Vari Cave.
