Pentwyn, Llanllowell

Llanllowell (Welsh: Llanllywel) is a village in Monmouthshire, southeast Wales, in the United Kingdom. It is two miles southeast of Usk, in the community of Llantrisant Fawr.

The Olway Brook (Welsh: Nant Olwy) is a left bank tributary of the River Usk in Monmouthshire in south Wales. Arising from the confluence of several brooks in the vicinity of Llansoy including the Llangofen, Penarth and Pontyrhydan brooks, it flows west to Llandenny, where it is joined by the Nant y Wilcae from Raglan, then southwest to be joined by the waters of the Pill brook and Llan-gwm-isaf Brook. Approaching the edge of the town of Usk it does not join the River Usk here but flows south, sub-parallel to the major river for over 3 km before joining it 750m south of the hamlet of Llanllowell. The catchment of the brook is almost wholly Old Red Sandstone.

Llantrisant Fawr is a community in Monmouthshire, Wales. Villages within the community include Llantrisant and Llanllowell. The community council has three wards: Llantrisant, Llangwm and Llansoy, after Llangwm community was absorbed with boundary changes in May 2022. The population in the 2011 census was 475.

St David's Church, Llangeview, is a redundant church sited in a round churchyard adjacent to the junction of the A449 and A472 roads 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east of the town of Usk in Monmouthshire, Wales. It has been designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches. It is Grade I listed because of its "exceptional interior" including a 15th-century rood-loft and "rare pre-Victorian box pews and fittings". The church stands in a churchyard that is almost circular, and is surrounded by a bank and the traces of a ditch.

The Cwm, Llantrisant, Monmouthshire is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century. Expanded in both the 17th and 18th centuries, The Cwm is a Grade II* listed building, its listing describing it as "a substantial farmhouse of distinctive T-plan".

The Church of St Peter, St Paul and St John, is the parish church of Llantrisant, Monmouthshire, Wales. Described by the architectural historian, John Newman as "a handsome church" in the Decorated style, it is a Grade I listed building as of 18 November 1980.

HM Prison Usk (Welsh: Carchar Brynbuga EF) is a Category C men's prison, located in Maryport Street in Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and jointly managed with the nearby HMP Prescoed.

The Priory Church of St Mary is the parish church of Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales. Its origin was as the church of Usk Priory, a Benedictine nunnery founded by Richard de Clare, 2nd Earl of Pembroke in the twelfth century. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries the church became the parish church of the town. Extended and restored in the middle of the nineteenth century, it was again restored in 1899–1900. The church was designated a Grade I listed building on 4 January 1974.

The Sessions House at Usk, Wales, is a Victorian courthouse by Thomas Henry Wyatt of 1877. It is a Grade II* listed building as of 4 January 1974.

Llanbadoc (Welsh: Llanbadog Fawr) is a village and community in the county of Monmouthshire and the preserved county of Gwent in Wales. The population of the village at the 2011 census was 806.The village is in the Newport postal district of NP15, just across the River Usk from the town of Usk (Welsh: Brynbuga), off the A472. Llanbadoc is within the British House of Commons and Senedd constituencies of Monmouth. There are not many facilities in this small village - there is a village and parish church, a garage, a saw mill, an open prison and an agricultural college. Llanbadoc is the birthplace (1823) of Alfred Russel Wallace. The community includes the villages of Monkswood and Glascoed.
