St Madoc's Church, Llanbadoc

Llanbadoc (Welsh: Llanbadog Fawr) is a village and community in the county of Monmouthshire and the preserved county of Gwent in Wales. The population of the village at the 2011 census was 806.The village is in the Newport postal district of NP15, just across the River Usk from the town of Usk (Welsh: Brynbuga), off the A472. Llanbadoc is within the British House of Commons and Senedd constituencies of Monmouth. There are not many facilities in this small village - there is a village and parish church, a garage, a saw mill, an open prison and an agricultural college. Llanbadoc is the birthplace (1823) of Alfred Russel Wallace. The community includes the villages of Monkswood and Glascoed.

The Old Town Hall (Welsh: Hen Neuadd y Dref Brynbuga) is a municipal building in Old Market Street, Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales. The structure, which is now used as the local club of the Royal British Legion, is a Grade II listed building.

27 Old Market Street, Usk, Monmouthshire, forms part of a range of terraced houses which were originally the Great House of Roger Williams, High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in the mid-16th century. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Ynys Hafod, Henllys and Min Yr Afon, New Market Street, Usk, Monmouthshire, are three houses forming a continuous range in the centre of the town. Each house is a Grade II* listed building.

The Sessions House at Usk, Wales, is a Victorian courthouse by Thomas Henry Wyatt of 1877. It is a Grade II* listed building as of 4 January 1974.

HM Prison Usk (Welsh: Carchar Brynbuga EF) is a Category C men's prison, located in Maryport Street in Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and jointly managed with the nearby HMP Prescoed.

Olde Malsters, 11 New Market Street, Usk, Monmouthshire is a remnant of a large house of late medieval origins. The existing building comprises the cross-wing and a passage from the original townhouse. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Burrium was a legionary fortress in the Roman province of Britannia Superior or Roman Britain. Its remains today lie beneath the town of Usk in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. The Romans founded the 48 acres (19 ha) fortress around AD 55, probably for the Legio XX Valeria Victrix (20th Legion) and perhaps an additional ala of 500 cavalrymen. Earth and timber defences surrounded a number of legionary barracks. The fort was key to the conquest of the Silures, a tribe very resistant to the imposition of Roman rule in Roman Wales, but in AD 66, the legion was transferred to Viroconium Cornoviorum (at Wroxeter) and their base in Wales was largely abandoned. It was briefly replaced by a works depot for iron working. The surrounding vicus seems not to have developed into a small town, although it may have had an official mansio.

The Usk Bridge, Usk, Monmouthshire, carries the A472 over the River Usk. It is the town's oldest crossing of the river and is a Grade II* listed structure.

30 Bridge Street, Usk, Monmouthshire, is a building dating from the very early 15th century. In the 17th century the structure was used as a gaol and the Catholic martyr David Lewis was imprisoned there in 1678. 30 Bridge Street is a Grade II* listed building.

The Priory Gatehouse in Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales, is a surviving fragment of a Benedictine priory founded around 1135 and dissolved in 1536. It stands beside the main entrance to the churchyard. It is a Grade I listed building.The gatehouse is of two storeys, with gables and wide inner and outer arches. The style of the windows suggests a "sixteenth century date, possibly even post-Dissolution".

The Priory Church of St Mary is the parish church of Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales. Its origin was as the church of Usk Priory, a Benedictine nunnery founded by Richard de Clare, 2nd Earl of Pembroke in the twelfth century. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries the church became the parish church of the town. Extended and restored in the middle of the nineteenth century, it was again restored in 1899–1900. The church was designated a Grade I listed building on 4 January 1974.
