Bischofsheim in der Rhön

Altenbrenda Castle was is a lowland castle, now reduced to a burgstall, located in the Großer Garten, 1000 metres northeast of the present village of Unterweißenbrunn in the borough of Bischofsheim an der Rhön in the Lower Franconian county of Rhön-Grabfeld in Bavaria. The burgstall is situated near the sewage works for Unterweißenbrunn, in an area that is known today as the abandoned village (Wüstung) of Altenbrenda.

The Feldberg is a hill, 570.2 m above sea level (NHN), in the Bavarian Rhön, northeast of Sandberg and south of the village of Kilianshof. The Feldberg is a southeastern spur of the des Kreuzbergs. The Feldberg near Sandberg in the Bavarian Rhön should not be confused with the mountain of Feldberg in the Hessian Rhön near Sandberg (Gersfeld).

The Kreuzberg Group is a small range of low mountains in northern Bavaria, Germany, which is named after its highest peak, the Kreuzberg (928 m). The group is part of the Southern High Rhön, which is in turn part of the High Rhön, a mountain region within the East Hesse Highlands. The natural region is drained by the Sinn in the west, the Brend in the east and the Schmalwasserbach and Kellersbach in the south. The mountains form part of the Central Upland range known as the Rhön Mountains.

The Sinn is a river that flows through the state of Hesse and the Bavarian province of Lower Franconia in southern Germany. It is about 69 kilometres (43 mi) long and is a right, northerly tributary of the Franconian Saale.

Sandberg is a municipality in the district of Rhön-Grabfeld in Bavaria in Germany.

The Bavarian Rhön Nature Park (Naturpark Bayerische Rhön) straddles the junction of the German states of Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia. 70 km2 of the total 125 km2 area of the nature park has been recognised by UNESCO as part of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve. The organisation for the promotion of the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park (Zweckverband Naturpark Bayerische Rhön) was founded in 1967. On 26 November 1982 the regulation for the Naturpark Bayerische Rhön was issued and, in 1997, the Zweckverband became the Society for the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park and Biosphere Reserve (Naturpark und Biosphärenreservat Bayer. Rhön e.V.).

Arnsberg is a mountain in the Bavarian part of the Rhön Mountains, Germany.

The Kreuzberg is one of the Rhön Mountains in southern Germany. With about 928 m (3,045 ft) high it is the highest elevation of the Bavarian part of the Rhön, in the province of Lower Franconia. The Kreuzberg — also referred to as the "sacred mountain of the Franconians" — is near the town of Bischofsheim an der Rhön in the district Rhön-Grabfeld.

The Long Rhön (German: Lange Rhön) is a ridge in the Central Rhön which forms part of the High Rhön within the Rhön Mountains. The Long Rhön is an elongated basalt plateau in the centre, roughly 800 metres above sea level, which is only occasional interrupted by mountain peaks. Its highest mountain is the Heidelstein (926 m above sea level (NHN)). A majority of the area is part of the Long Rhön Nature Reserve. In this area of the Rhön is the Black Moor.

The Heidelstein transmitter is a facility for FM- and TV broadcasting on the Heidelstein mountain in the Rhön, Germany. It uses as an antenna, a 218-metre tall guyed mast of tubular steel, which weighs 245 tons, and it was built in 1969. The Heidelstein transmitter is the property of Deutsche Telekom.

The Heidelstein, between Bischofsheim an der Rhön in the Bavarian county of Rhön-Grabfeld and Wüstensachsen in the Hessian county of Fulda, is a mountain, 925.7 m above sea level (NHN) high, on the state border in the mountains of the High Rhön, part of the German Central Upland range of Rhön. Its actual summit is in Bavaria. Sometimes its main peak is also called Schwabenhimmel. On the Heidelstein are the Heidelstein Transmitter and a memorial of the Rhön Club. On the northwestern slopes is the source of the River Ulster and on the western mountainside is the Rotes Moor Cross Country Skiing Centre.

The Himmeldunkberg or Himmeldunk is an extinct volcano, 888 m above sea level (NN) m high, in the High Rhön (Hohe Rhön) in Germany. It straddles the Bavarian-Hessian state border.
