Varick is a town in Seneca County, New York, United States. The population was 1,639 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Richard Varick, an officer in the American Revolution, mayor of New York City, and uncle of the first Town Supervisor, Anthony Dey. The Town of Varick is located in the central part of the county and is southeast of Geneva. There is no post office in the Town of Varick. The primary postal district covering the area is Zip Code 14541 for Romulus.

War Horse Brewing Company (formerly Barley Yards Brewing Company), part of the Three Brothers Wineries & Estates, is a brewery operated by Dave Mansfield in Geneva, New York, USA. The brewery opened on May 24, 2008 and is the first brewery in the United States to brew a Riesling ale, made by blending the wort of an American-style wheat beer with ten percent juice from Riesling grapes.

The former Seneca Army Depot occupied 10,587 acres (4,284 ha) between Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake in Seneca County, New York. It was used as a munitions storage and disposal facility by the United States Army from 1941 until the 1990s. The Depot was listed in the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission and formally shut down in 2000. The property has since been transferred to the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency, which leases it to Seneca County Economic Development Corp.Home to the world's largest herd of white deer, the base is in the towns of Varick and Romulus. Seneca Army Airfield is a closed facility of the United States Army that was originally built as the operational field for Sampson Air Force Base around 1953. Following the closure of the base, the field was turned over to the Army and became part of the nearby Seneca Army Depot. During this time, it was loosely controlled by the Army, as patrols reported seeing civilian aircraft on the runways. Around 1965, the airport reverted to civilian control, although this period was brief and it was converted back to military control soon after. The airport closed by 2000, when the nearby depot closed due to recommendations from the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.

Rose Hill Mansion is a historic house museum on New York State Route 96A in Fayette, New York. Built in 1837 on a site overlooking Seneca Lake, it is one of the nation's finest examples of monumental residential Greek Revival architecture. The property was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986. It is now owned and operated by Historic Geneva, formerly the Geneva Historical Society, and is open for tours from May to October.

The Peter Whitmer log home is a historic site located in Fayette, New York, United States, owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The current house is a replica of the original log cabin and at its original site, and was built in 1980 to mark the sesquicentennial of the founding of the church. In the early 19th century, it was the home of Peter Whitmer Sr., his wife Mary Musselman Whitmer, and their eight children: Christian, Jacob, John, David, Catherine, Peter Jr., Nancy, and Elizabeth Ann, who lived on the property from 1809 to 1830. The house is prominent in the early history of the Latter Day Saint movement as the traditional location of the formal organization of the Church of Christ, the original name of the church founded by Joseph Smith on April 6, 1830. The home is also near the site where the Three Witnesses were shown the golden plates by the Angel Moroni in 1829. Joseph Smith and his wife Emma lived in the home with the Whitmers for six months in 1829, with a large part of the Book of Mormon being translated during that time. The house and adjacent visitor center are open year-round for public tours.
