WXVU, known as Villanova University Radio, is a college radio station which is broadcast in the Philadelphia area via a 100-watt transmitter that covers an 8-mile (13 km) radius around the Villanova University campus. WXVU offers a variety of music, news, sports, public affairs and specialty programming. All full and part-time Villanova students are eligible to sign up for training and become a station member. Sharing its FM frequency with Cabrini College's station, WYBF, WXVU broadcasts four days a week over the air and every day of the week online.Villanova student radio began in 1947 when returning GIs built a closed circuit AM carrier current transmitter, located since 1955 in Dougherty Hall. The station's original call letters were WWVU and later WKVU 640 AM. Sporadic attempts to "go FM" came to fruition with the birth of WXVU 89.1 FM in 1991. Notable carrier current-era staff members include Jim Croce and Don McLean, both of whom would become music legends. Ed Gallagher DJ'd a 104-hour radiothon to benefit muscular dystrophy research in March 1975 with guest appearances by notable Philadelphians of the day including WFIL AM 560 boss jock Banana Joe Montione, whose 8 foot fiberglass banana was briefly absconded in a prank. In the late 1970s WKVU became known for its sports programming, and was even briefly the exclusive radio home of Villanova basketball, a relationship which, though no longer exclusive, extended into the Big East era (1980 forward). WXVU/WKVU alumni, including Ryan Fannon and Whitey Rigsby, have long enjoyed success in professional broadcasting.

The William B. Finneran Pavilion is a 6,501-seat multi-purpose arena in Villanova, Pennsylvania, United States, about 10 miles northwest of downtown (Center City) Philadelphia. Built in 1985, the arena is home to the Villanova University Wildcats basketball teams. It is recognizable from the outside for its hyperbolic paraboloid roofline, similar to Alfond Arena at the University of Maine. It replaced the still-existing Villanova Field House, later renamed the "Jake Nevin Field House," a small arena-auditorium built in 1932. The first men's basketball game played at the Pavilion took place on February 1, 1986, a 64-62 victory against the University of Maryland. For basketball games where larger crowds are expected, Villanova plays at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia (where Villanova holds the record for largest Pennsylvania crowd to watch a college basketball game, att. 20,859). The Finneran Pavilion is known for its famed student section, which constitutes a full third of the seating. Formerly located in the south end, the student bleachers seat 2,000 students but have been known to be filled with as many as 2,500 students. Until 2016, it was the home court of the Philadelphia Freedoms of World TeamTennis.23,016 square feet (2,138.3 m2) of arena floor space is utilized for concerts, conventions, trade shows, graduation ceremonies and other special events. St. Thomas of Villanova Church is a Roman Catholic church on the campus of Villanova University. Completed in 1887, it had long been the center of Augustinian activity in the United States, and still plays an important role within the province. Today, the church functions as the parish church for St. Thomas of Villanova parish as well as the University Chapel for Villanova University. The church's dual Gothic revival spires have long been symbolic of the University.

Villanova station lies east of the former Strafford Spur, which was closed by the Philadelphia and Western Railroad in 1956. Today, the former right-of-way between Strafford and Radnor serves as the P&W Bicycle Trail.

Arboretum Villanova is the name of a former 222-acre (90 ha) arboretum located throughout the campus of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. It is open to the public daily without charge. Designated an arboretum in 1993, the site has since lost this designation. It contains roughly 1,500 trees of 254 different species. Its collection includes sequoia, sycamore, pine, flowering pear, crabapple, cherry, and horse chestnut trees, along with many other varieties. Many are labeled.The trees are maintained by the campus Grounds Division, which is also responsible for strategic planning for the trees.

It serves the Norristown High Speed Line (Route 100) and is located between Garrett Avenue and Lowry's Lane, near Lancaster Avenue (US 30) in Radnor Township, although SEPTA gives the address as being near "Lowerys" Lane & Fairfax Road. Local, Hughes Park Express, and Norristown Express trains stop at Garrett Hill. The station lies 6.4 track miles from 69th Street Terminal.

Villanova station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station on the campus of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. It is in Radnor Township, located on North Spring Mill Road (PA 320) near County Line Road and serves most Paoli/Thorndale Line trains. The station building was originally built in 1890 by the Pennsylvania Railroad and is within the campus of Villanova University. The eastbound and westbound platforms are ground-level and are connected by an underground handicap accessible pedestrian tunnel running beneath the tracks (which replaced the old non-handicapped accessible tunnel in 2018) The station building is also home to a small café called "Rosie's Coffee". There are 167 parking spaces at the station, including SEPTA permit parking. This station is 12.0 track miles from Philadelphia's Suburban Station. In 2017, the average total weekday boardings at this station was 466, and the average total weekday alightings was 447.

Garrett Hill is an unincorporated community in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania approximately 8 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The geographic area is located in the portion of the Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania ZIP code that comprises Rosemont. The community is (roughly) bounded by Lancaster Avenue, Conestoga Road, Garrett Avenue and Lowrys Lane. Although a strong working class community with blue collar roots, it is located on the Pennsylvania Railroad Main Line. The community is served by its own stop, Garrett Hill station, on the Norristown High Speed Line, formerly the Philadelphia and Western Railway. Garrett Hill is mainly a residential community, but also includes a small commercial area (near the intersection of Conestoga Road and Garrett Avenue) consisting of a few bars and other small businesses that serve the community and the student population of nearby Villanova University.One of Garrett Hill's traditions is an annual community Fourth of July parade, followed by a free picnic with live music and other entertainment in Clem Macrone Park. Garrett Hill's housing stock consists largely of late 19th-century and early-to-mid 20th-century structures, including Victorian, single-family frame and brick duplex homes.
