Southport South light rail station

The Southport RSL is a sub-branch of Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL) in Southport, Gold Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. Their building (known as the Southport RSL Memorial Club or more recently as RSL Club Southport branch) is at 36 Scarborough Street, Southport. The Southport RSL is a registered not-for-profit charity.

It comprises three towers with integrated shopping and commercial precincts with a total value of $700 million. The towers are constructed with concrete in a modern style. The building was developed by Raptis Group. The architectural work was conducted by Archidiom Design.

The building is one of the tallest on the Gold Coast and is the tallest in the Southport area. The Hotel Cecil is an Art Deco hotel located on the south western corner of the intersection of Scarborough and Nerang Streets in Southport, Queensland, Australia. It has been recommended that it be added to the Queensland Heritage Register due to its rarity, high architectural value and contribution to the character of the street.It is the largest privately owned building on the Southport Heritage Walk, a good example of a hotel built in the 1930s and a prominent landmark of social and historical significance to the community.The current hotel is the second building on the site and is an integral part of an early twentieth century streetscape that includes the heritage listed Southport Town Hall, an earlier Ambulance Station and a number of buildings designed by the architect Thomas Ramsay Hall.After over 100 years of operation, the Hotel Cecil, also referred to as the Cecil Hotel and B.DeMille's, is the oldest public house on the Gold Coast to maintain its original name throughout all its years of operation.

The Southport light rail station and the Southport bus station (located adjacent to light rail station) provide an important bus - light rail interchange for the Gold Coast Central Business District. The station opened in July 2014 with the introduction of the light rail system known as the G:link.Translink provides a integrated public transport network for the whole of South East Queensland. Surfside buslines under contract from Translink provides high frequency and suburban bus services from the Southport bus station. Buses provide connections to the surrounding suburbs. The light rail service, known as G:link runs from Broadbeach South to Helensvale via the key activity precinct Surfers Paradise.

Southport Town Hall is a heritage-listed former town hall at Nerang Street, Southport, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Hall & Phillips and built in 1935 by H Cheetham. It is also known as Gold Coast City Hall, Gold Coast Town Hall, and South Coast Town Hall. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 5 October 1998.
