Hindsburg, New York

Brockville is a hamlet in the town of Murray in Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after Heil Brockway, a native of Clinton in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. The small settlement is located approximately 0.75 miles east of Hindsburg and was largely settled due to the opening of Medina Sandstone quarries in that vicinity.

Hulberton is a hamlet in the town of Murray in Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after Isaac Henry Scott Hulbert, a native of Pittsfield in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Arriving first at Sandy Creek in 1824, Hulbert soon relocated the following year to the nearby hamlet of Scio. The location prospered along the Erie Canal where Hulbert engaged in the produce business. On March 6, 1830 he was selected at chairman of the building committee for the Methodist Episcopal Church and was a long-time Justice of the Peace.When the community determined the need for a local post office, the nearest being located at the hamlet of Sandy Creek, Hulbert was appointed to the position of post master. This post office was established in 1835. The name of the hamlet was changed to Hulberton in honor of Isaac Hulbert in part because of Hulbert's role as post master, but also due to the fact that the town of Scio in Allegany County, New York predated the location.

East Gaines is a hamlet in the town of Gaines in Orleans County, New York, United States. In 1826, Peter Runion constructed the East Gaines Hotel, later known as the Perry House, which became an important location for settlers traveling by way of Ridge Road. The hamlet contained a post office, store, blacksmith shop, a Baptist church, and twelve to fifteen houses in 1894.

Murray is a town in Orleans County, New York, United States. The population was 6,259 at the 2000 census. The Town of Murray is on the east border of the county, northwest of the City of Rochester.

The Clarendon Stone Store, also known as the Old Stone Store or the Copeland Store, is an historic commercial building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the hamlet of Clarendon, in the town of Clarendon, New York, the building sits at the corner of New York State Route 31A (East Lee Road) and New York State Route 237 (Holley–Byron Road).Like many structures in the region, the store was one of the first buildings in the world built with Medina sandstone, as the material was plentiful in the surrounding fields. The first proprietor of the store was David Sturges. His son-in-law, George Copeland, operated it from 1843 until 1892, giving it one of its alternative names, the Copeland Store. At various points, the building housed post office and town court functions in addition to the general store.Even after Copeland's family sold the building, it remained a general store and Clarendon landmark until 1975. Eventually, the building was converted to apartments, but the building was condemned in 2007. The town took over ownership in April 2011, and in December 2012 reached an agreement to sell it to a couple from Hilton for one dollar. The two buyers are experienced with renovation of historic properties and have plans to complete renovation by the end of 2013. Their intent is to put commercial space on the first floor, with an apartment on the second.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 9, 2012, with its listing promoted by a group of local citizens who wanted to prevent the building's demolition.

Clarendon is a town in Orleans County, New York, United States. The population was 3,648 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from Clarendon, Vermont. The Town of Clarendon is in the southeast part of the county. New York State Route 31A and New York State Route 237 intersect in the town.

WJCA (102.1 MHz) is a Christian radio station licensed to Albion, New York, and owned by Family Worship Center Church, Inc. The station began broadcasting on December 27, 2001, and aired a Christian format as an owned and operated affiliate of CSN International. In 2005, the station was sold to Family Worship Center Church for $950,000.

Charles D'Amico High School [1], also known as Albion High School [2], is a secondary school located in Albion, New York which educates students in grades nine through twelve. The school is named for longtime principal Charles C. D'Amico.The high school operates under what is known as a "block schedule", where students schedule four courses every semester in 20 week blocks. Each blocked class is 85 minutes of instruction, and four minute "between class" breaks. Also, with classes such as band, chorus, yearbook, and newspaper journalism, meet every other day instead of every day. Students who decide to take college courses are able to choose between GCC (Genesee Community College) and SUNY Brockport to earn college credit. For students whom want to take AP classes, there are currently 7 classes available. Along with higher education courses, internships are also available to students who qualify. Niagara-Orleans BOCES is also jointed with the school offering students hands on courses in a trade of their choice. As a requirement, students must complete 30 hours of community service and finish an MST (Math, Science, Technology) project to graduate. For AP students, a service-learning project is required for each class. This project involves the incorporation of the class and acquired skills in hope to better the community. These projects are popular with middle and high schools, and is becoming an important aspect of Albion's classes. Clubs and sports are important aspects of student life at this public school. Two main clubs are the FFA and the National Honor Society. Some other clubs include drama, Marching band, Chess, masterminds, and youth court. Men's and Women's sports include football, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, basketball, swimming, baseball, track and softball have always been a driving part of Albion high as well. Many of the teams have been consistent league champions. Also, these teams are known to consistently earn high academic awards as well. The school is very well known for its football rivalry with Medina.

Holley is a village in the town of Murray in Orleans County, New York, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Hillside Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located at Clarendon in Orleans County, New York. The cemetery was established in 1866, and is the resting place of many early settlers. The cemetery includes a mortuary chapel built in 1894 in the Gothic Revival style and stucco over concrete storage building (1928). The last section of the cemetery was added in 1938.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.Medical pioneer Dr. Lemuel Whitley Diggs (1900–1995) is buried there. A cenotaph to conservationist and taxidermist Carl Ethan Akeley (1864–1926) is a large feature in the cemetery. [Lillian Bentham] (1892-1977) she is a titanic survivor.

The district encompasses 40 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of the village of Holley. The district developed between about 1822 and 1952, and includes buildings in a variety of architectural styles including Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Beaux Arts, and Late Gothic Revival. Notable contributing resources include the Public Square and Salisbury Fountain (1914), First Presbyterian Church (1907-1908, 1958–1959), White-Alis Building (c. 1875), Village Building (c. 1880), Rutland Block/Lockwood Building/Community Library (1896), Odd Fellows Hall (1890), Downs Residence (c. 1860s), St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (1904-1905), Downs Hotel/Hotel Holley designed by Andrew Jackson Warner (1893, 1920s), Village Building and Holley Standard (1899, 1903), First Methodist Episcopal Church (1868-1869), and the Holley High School (1930-1931).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
