Phipps Bridge

Phipps Bridge tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service in the London Borough of Merton. The stop is named after Phipps Bridge Road, an adjacent residential street. The tram stop consists of a single island platform. Immediately to the west of the station is a single-track section which reaches as far as Morden Road tram stop. To the east, double track continues to the nearby Belgrave Walk tram stop, which is clearly visible from Phipps Bridge tram stop. Access to the platform is via pedestrian level crossings over the tracks. To the north a footpath gives access to Phipps Bridge Road. To the south, a gateway gives pedestrian access to the National Trust's Morden Hall Park, which borders the line to the south for a considerable distance each side of the stop.

Belgrave Walk tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service near Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. The stop is named after Belgrave Walk, an adjacent residential street to the north. The tram stop consists of an island platform which is accessed by pedestrian level crossings at both ends of the platform. The crossing at the western end only serves the north side of the line, whilst the one at the eastern end forms a path connecting neighbourhoods on either side of the line. The Phipps Bridge tram stop is clearly visible to the west.

Wimbledon Film & Television Studios is an English film and television production company and facilities provider, located in Colliers Wood, between Mitcham and Wimbledon in south London.

Merton Abbey is an area in southwest London, England. It lies between South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood in the London Borough of Merton. Merton Abbey takes its name from Merton Priory, which once stood on the northern edge of the district. The area is bounded by Merton High Street to the north, the River Wandle to the west, Christchurch Road to the east and Deen City Farm to the south. Despite the area being considered by many to be part of neighbouring Colliers Wood, most of Merton Abbey falls within Merton's "Lavender Fields" ward. The area is within the SW postcode area.

Bennett's Ditch—sometimes spelled Bennetts Ditch—is a minor river (brook) located in the locality of Colliers Wood in the London Borough of Merton, Greater London, England. It is a tributary of Pickle Ditch, itself a tributary of the River Wandle. Bennett's Ditch ostensibly receives its name from Calico Print Works, which was located in the area and owned by a Mr. Bennett. Bennett's Mill, a textile manufacturing factory, used to be located by the stream.

Morden Hall Park is a National Trust park on the banks of the Wandle in Morden, south London. Its several buildings and associated parking included, it is 51 acres (21 ha) of predominantly parkland. Hinting at the former mill leats the river here splits into channels, generally, through it spanned by numerous footbridges. The estate contains Morden Hall itself, Morden Cottage, two well-preserved snuff watermills, a restored stableyard, a dog-friendly café, exhibition space and second-hand bookshop. A western part, separately accessed, hosts the National Trust's only Garden Centre.

Merton Abbey Mills is a former textile factory in the parish of Merton in London, England near the site of the medieval Merton Priory, now the home of a variety of businesses, mostly retailers. The River Wandle flowing north towards Wandsworth drove watermills and provided water for a number of industrial processes in Merton. Merton Abbey Mills were established by Huguenot silk throwers in the early eighteenth century; there were already textile works nearby from 1667.Liberty & Co. had been involved with the site since the 19th century, as their popular ranges of fabrics for dress and furniture were nearly all made there by Littler and Co. In 1904 Liberty & Co took over the Littler site. They continued to operate the Merton Abbey Mills until 1972, and textile production was continued by other firms until 1982. During World War II part of the site was used to construct gun-turrets for the Bristol Blenheim fighter-bomber.Today Merton Abbey Mills is a crafts market and the site of a summer theatre and music festival called Abbeyfest. A number of buildings from the Morris period, and even earlier, survive, and there are displays on the history of the site. A water-mill still turns in the summer, and the "colourhouse", a mid-18th century industrial building, is now a children's theatre. The water-mill and colour house are both Grade II listed buildings.

Mitcham and Morden is a constituency in Greater London represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1997 by Siobhain McDonagh of the Labour Party.

Merton Abbey was a railway station in Merton on the Tooting, Merton and Wimbledon Railway. It was opened in 1868 and closed on 1 January 1917. It was reopened by the Southern Railway (SR) on 27 August 1923. When the City & South London Railway (now part of the London Underground's Northern line) was extended from Clapham Common to Morden in 1926, it opened stations at Colliers Wood and South Wimbledon. The new Underground stations captured much of Merton Abbey station's traffic and led to its closure to passengers on 3 March 1929. The station remained open for goods services until 1 May 1972 and goods trains continued to run to a nearby private siding serving the Lines Brothers ("Tri-ang") toy factory until 1975. After closure of the passenger service, the junction at Tooting Junction was removed on 10 March 1934 and the up line from Merton Park on 3 November 1935.The site of the station lies under a road, the Merantun Way. The only indication of its former existence is that the former station approach road is still called Station Road.

Merton Priory was an English Augustinian priory founded in 1114 by Gilbert Norman, Sheriff of Surrey under King Henry I (1100–1135). It was situated within the manor of Merton in the county of Surrey, in what is today the Colliers Wood area in the London Borough of Merton.

Ravensbury Park is a public park in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. An area of 7 hectares is designated a Local Nature Reserve. The River Wandle runs along the southern boundary of the park, which is also part of the Upper Wandle River Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation.The park was part of the medieval Ravensbury Manor, which dated back to the thirteenth century. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the site was the location of a calico mill and pleasure gardens. In 1929 Mitcham, Merton and Morden Councils purchased part of the former gardens and opened the site as Ravensbury Park on 10 May 1930. Some of the trees date back two hundred years. Part of the park was later converted to a nature reserve, including a riverside walk along the Wandle. It has a range of wetland birds, extensive woodland and a mixture of wildlife habitats.There is access from Morden Road, Bishopsford Road and Wandle Road.

The Wandle Trail is a 12.5-mile (20 km) walking and cycling trail that follows the River Wandle from Croydon to Wandsworth in south-west London.
