Penryn (; Cornish: Pennrynn, meaning 'promontory') is a civil parish and town in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is on the Penryn River about 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of Falmouth. The population was 7,166 in the 2001 census and had been reduced to 6,812 in the 2011 census, a drop of more than 300 people across the ten-year time gap. There are two electoral wards covering Penryn: 'Penryn East and Mylor' and 'Penryn West'. The total population of both wards in the 2011 census was 9,790.Though now the town is overshadowed by the larger nearby town of Falmouth, Penryn was once an important harbour in its own right, lading granite and tin to be shipped to other parts of the country and world during the medieval period.

Penryn Town Hall is a municipal building in Higher Market Street, Penryn, Cornwall, England. The structure, which is used as an events venue and also incorporates a local history museum, is a Grade II* listed building.

Kernick (Cornish: Karnek, meaning rocky place) is a settlement in west Cornwall, England, UK. It is a part of the town of Penryn, now a suburb of Falmouth. The name Kernick is a derivative of Cernic / Carnak meaning 'rocky' in Cornish, like Carnac in Brittany/Kernick is located near Mabe, a village on the edge of a new urban area. Kernick has thrived as an industrial area since the late 1970s with two industrial parks, and one large industrial estate, with about 100 factories. An Asda supermarket was recently constructed nearby, which has taken much business from the small town shops. Kernick is also thriving as a suburban housing area, with three housing estates in the vicinity, two of which (Littleoaks and Woodland Avenue) have in excess of 200 houses each. There is also another housing estate nearby, and a large area called Greenwood, which has in excess of 500 houses and bungalows. Kernick is also the site of the new Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC). There is also a place called Kernick in St Stephen in Brannel parish; the meaning here is "little corner" which also applies to Kernock, also in Cornwall.

Penryn Campus (formerly Tremough Campus, Cornwall Campus and similar names) is a university campus in Penryn, Cornwall, England, UK. The campus is occupied by two university institutions: Falmouth University and the University of Exeter, with the shared buildings, facilities and services provided by Falmouth Exeter Plus.Located on a site bought in 1998, the campus was developed via the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) scheme with finance from the EU and the UK Government and was opened in 2004.

Falmouth School (formerly Trescobeas County Secondary School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Falmouth in the county of Cornwall.Previously a community school administered by Cornwall Council, Falmouth School converted to academy status on 1 August 2011. Falmouth Town Association Football Club is a football club based in Falmouth, Cornwall, United Kingdom. They are currently members of the Western League Premier Division and play at Bickland Park. The club were the first Cornish team to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup, which they have done on three occasions; 1962–63, 1967–68 and 1969–70.

The Congregationalist Cemetery (also known as the "Independent Burial Ground" or the "Dissenters Burying Ground") at Ponsharden, Cornwall was opened in 1808 to serve the Dissenting Christian congregations of Falmouth and Penryn. It received approximately 587 burials over a period of 120 years, before being abandoned in the 1930s. During the 20th century the site experienced significant neglect and extensive vandalism. In May 2012 a volunteer group began to restore the burial ground which (combined with an adjacent Jewish cemetery) is now a protected Scheduled Monument of national importance. The place-name Ponsharden is recorded in 1677 as "Ponshardy"; its meaning is Hardy's bridge.
