The Buren County was a territory situated in what is now the Dutch province of Gelderland. It was an independent county until the establishment of the Batavian Republic in 1795. Although it was not formally part of the United Provinces, in practice it was governed by it.

Buren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbyːrə(n)] (listen)) is a town and municipality in the Betuwe region of the Netherlands. Buren has 27,168 inhabitants as of 1 January 2022.

Zwarte Paard is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Buren, and lies about 7 km north of Tiel.It was first mentioned in 1899 as Zwarte Paard, and translates to "black horse", however it is named after a house. The postal authorities have placed Zwarte Paard under Ingen. It consists of about 20 houses.

Eck en Wiel is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Buren, and lies about 9 km southwest of Veenendaal.

Ganzert is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Buren, and lies about 8 km southwest of Veenendaal. It was first mentioned in 1899 as Ganzert (De). The first part means goose, the second part can be either "land near water" or "farmland". The postal authorities have placed it under Ingen. Even though, it is outside the build-up area, it has place name signs with a 30 km/h speed limit.

Overlangbroek is a former village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede, and lies about 11 km southeast of Zeist. The village officially merged with Nederlangbroek into Langbroek in 1978.

Amerongen Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Amerongen, [kɑsteːl amɛrɔŋə(n)]) is a castle in Amerongen, the Netherlands. It was built between 1674 and 1680, on the site of a medieval castle that had been burned down by the French in 1673. The gardens still contain historic elements such as a conservatory dating from the 1890s. In 1918, the former German Kaiser Wilhelm II signed his abdication here and stayed till 1920, when he moved to Huis Doorn.

Zoelen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Buren, and lies about 3 km north of Tiel. Castle Zoelen is located near the village. Zoelen was a separate municipality until 1978, when it was merged with Buren.

The Andrieskerk ("St. Andrew's church") is a nowadays Protestant church in the Dutch village of Amerongen. The church's history spans around seven centuries, beginning in the end of the 13th century, when everybody in western Europe had to be Roman Catholic. With the Reformation, the church became Protestant in 1582. It is currently used by the Reformed Municipal Parish of Amerongen.

Amerongen (Dutch pronunciation: [amɛrɔŋə(n)]) is a village in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands, on the border of the Utrecht Hill Ridge. It lies about 7 km south west of Veenendaal (10.5 km by road). The landscape rises from the flat water meadows of the Nederrijn (Lower Rhine) to the Utrecht Hill Ridge ("Utrechtse Heuvelrug"). The highest point in the western Netherlands is located 2 km east of the village. The Amerongense Berg (Amerongen Mountain) has a height of 69 metres above sea level.
