Nieuwerbrug

Waarder is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the former municipality of Reeuwijk, and lies about 5 km southwest of Woerden. The village was first mentioned in 1108 as Werdere and means "(river) island". Waarder developed as a road on a silted river arm in the 12th century. The Dutch Reformed church is a single aisled cruciform church from the 16th century.Waarder was a separate municipality until 1964, when it became part of Driebruggen, which became part of Reeuwijk in 1989. Since 2011 it is part of the municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk.

The Wierickerschans Fort is a part of the Old Dutch Waterline or "Oude Hollandse Waterlinie". This was a defence system that allowed large parts of the country (Holland) to be flooded (inundated). Thus protecting the main towns and city in the West against invading forces from the East. It was in use right up to the 19th century. The Fort was built on the site where in 1672 Stadtholder Willem III (William of Orange, who later became King of England) had his headquarters during the war against the French. The Fort is centrally located within the Old Dutch Waterline that stretched from Muiden down to the Biesbosch.

According to the 1615 map of Rijnland, there were indeed three bridge in Driebruggen. Driebruggen is a road village without a church which developed in the 17th century near the bridge over the Dubbele Wiericke.Driebruggen was a separate municipality between 1964 and 1989. The name from this village means 3 bridges. It was created in a merger of Hekendorp, Lange Ruige Weide, Papekop, and Waarder.

In 1840, Rietveld was home to 235 people.

The built-up area of the town was 0.21 km2, and contained 563 residences. The statistical district "Zegveld" has a population of around 2360. This covers the entire former municipality, including the hamlets of Lagebroek and Stichtse Meije.

Papekop is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 3 km northwest of the city of Oudewater. Papekop was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1964, when it merged with Driebruggen. Between 1821 and 1989, when it became part of Oudewater, the village was located in the province of South Holland.The village was first mentioned around 1307 as Papencoip, and means "(peat) concession of Pape (probably a clergy)". In 1840, it was home to 284 people. Between 1858 and 1936, there was a railway station in Papekop.
