Damascus School

Damascus Christian School is a private Christian school in Damascus, Oregon, United States. Damascus Christian has been around since 1975, when it was founded by its first principal Tim Oakley. The school has also been accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International since 1978, and through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools since 2005.Damascus Christian is known for being one of the top Christian schools in the Clackamas/Sandy area. They hold weekly chapel services, have sports teams that frequently win 1A championships, and maintain a student body that is for the most part academically ahead of their public school peers.

Damascus is a census-designated place and former city in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. Established in 1867, it was incorporated in 2004 in an effort to enable local land use decision-making control by the community. Its residents voted to disincorporate in 2016, and, after a legal challenge, its disincorporation was completed in 2020. Damascus is located east of Happy Valley and Interstate 205 and west of Boring. The population was 11,050 residents as of the 2020 census.

KXTG (750 AM, "The Game") is a sports radio station in Portland, Oregon. Its transmitter is located in Damascus, while studios are in downtown Portland. It is owned by Alpha Media, a company owned by veteran radio executive Larry Wilson.

Adrienne C. Nelson High School (ANHS or Nelson High School) is a 4-year public high school in Happy Valley, Oregon. The school is the fourth and newest public high school in the North Clackamas School District.

Carver is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, which, between 2004 and 2016, was part of the city of Damascus, Oregon. Before 2004, when the city of Damascus incorporated, Carver was an independent, unincorporated community. The city of Damascus disincorporated in 2016 returning Carver to its previous status. The center of Carver is located along the Clackamas River, three miles southwest of the center of Damascus, and five miles east of Clackamas. The community is located along Oregon Route 224.

The Horace Baker Log Cabin is a historic log cabin located near Carver, Oregon, United States. It was built around 1856 by American pioneer Horace Baker.The cabin was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Barton is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, on Oregon Route 224 near the Clackamas River. Barton was named after Barton, Wisconsin by settler E. H. Burghardt. Burghardt started a flour mill and store near the mouth of Deep Creek, and later was postmaster of the Barton post office, which ran from 1896 to 1935.

The Vancouver School of Arts and Academics (VSAA) is a public arts magnet school for grades 6 to 12 in Vancouver, Washington, United States. It is part of the Vancouver Public Schools and in addition to traditional academic studies, the school's curriculum has an in-depth elective study of the performing, literary, musicall, theatrical and visual arts, as well as film studies (called "moving image arts" at the school).

The East Buttes are made up of several extinct volcanoes in and around Gresham, Oregon, United States, which are part of the Boring Lava Field. The Boring Lava Field became active at least 2.7 million years ago, and has been extinct for about 300,000 years.The buttes stretch from southeast Portland into Damascus. Included are Gresham Butte (also known as Walter's Hill), Gabbert Hill, and Towle Butte. The Gresham Butte Saddle Trail runs through open space owned by Metro and the City of Gresham. The trail was previously a logging road and is bordered on the north by Gresham Butte and on the south by Towle Butte and Gabbert Hill. Several tributaries of Johnson Creek are located in this open space. The land in this area is dominated by black cottonwood, red alder, and Douglas-fir. There are also many non-native species present, such as Himalayan blackberry and European holly, a large stand of which is found around the middle of Saddle Trail. Somewhere in the forest is an old bus used to move water pipes for the planned Mount Hood Freeway. The project and the bus were abandoned in the 1970s after a mass public outcry against the proposed freeway.Much of the land on Gabbert Hill was previously designated for a subdivision called Darby Ridge, but was acquired by Metro and the City of Gresham in 2007.

Gresham ( GRESH-əm) is a city located in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States, immediately east of Portland. It is considered a suburb within the Greater Portland Metropolitan area. Though it began as a settlement in the mid-1800s, it was not officially incorporated as a city until 1905; it was named after Walter Quintin Gresham, the American Civil War general and United States Secretary of State. The city's early economy was sustained largely by farming, and by the mid-20th century the city experienced a population boom, growing from 4,000 residents to over 10,000 between 1960 and 1970. The population was 114,247 at the 2020 census, making Gresham the 4th most populous city in Oregon.

Clatsop Butte is an upland butte lying directly south of Powell Butte in southeast Portland, Oregon, United States. Clatsop Butte City Park, which occupies part of the butte, is at coordinates 45°28′28″N 122°30′24″W at an elevation of 577 feet (176 m). Johnson Creek, Southeast Foster Road, and the Springwater Corridor Trail pass between Powell Butte and Clatsop Butte near Southeast 152nd Avenue.The City of Portland acquired about 16 acres (6.5 ha) of land on the butte for a park and natural area in 2000. Other land acquisitions increased the park's size to 102 acres (0.41 km2) by 2007 but led to controversy about public expenditures. A 16-member oversight committee was to review the purchases in 2008 to decide whether the money had been wisely spent.As of 2008, Metro the regional government in the Oregon part of the Portland metropolitan area, included 49 acres (20 ha) of the acreage on its list of protected natural areas. The natural area, comprising densely forested hillsides and creek frontage, supports wildlife including deer, foxes, coyotes, northern flickers, pileated woodpeckers and other local and migratory birds.
