Victor Braunig Lake

The Medina River is located in south central Texas, United States, in the Medina Valley. It was also known as the Rio Mariano, Rio San Jose, or Rio de Bagres (Catfish river). Its source is in springs in the Edwards Plateau in northwest Bandera County, Texas and merges with the San Antonio River in southern Bexar County, Texas, for a course of 120 miles. It contains the Medina Dam in NE Medina County, Texas which restrains Lake Medina. Much of its course is owned and operated by the Bexar-Medina-Atascosa Water District to provide irrigation services to farmers and ranchers.

Elmendorf is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. It is part of the San Antonio—New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. Its population was 1,862 at the 2020 census. It was founded in 1885, and named after Henry Elmendorf, a former mayor of San Antonio, and a German-Texan. For a long time, the biggest employer was Star Clay Products.

Southon is an unincorporated community in Bexar County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 113 in 2000. It is located within the Greater San Antonio metropolitan area.

The Blue Wing Solar Project is a 16.6 MWp (14.4 MWAC) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in San Antonio, Texas. It was one of the largest PV facilities in Texas when it came online in late 2010 and is owned by a Duke Energy Subsidiary.

The Calaveras Power Station is a series of power plants located southeast of San Antonio, in Bexar County, Texas near Calaveras Lake. These plants include the J.T. Deely Power Plant, the O.W. Sommers Power Plant, and the J.K. Spruce Power Plant. They are operated by CPS Energy.

J. T. Deely Power Plant was a two unit, 871 megawatt (MW) coal power plant located southeast of San Antonio, in Bexar County, Texas near Calaveras Lake at the Calaveras Power Station. They were operated by CPS Energy and ran from 1977 to 2018.

Calaveras Lake is a reservoir on Calaveras Creek, located 20 miles (32 kilometers) southeast of Downtown San Antonio, Texas, USA. The reservoir was formed in 1969 by the construction of a dam to provide a cooling pond for a series of power plants, called the Calaveras Power Station, to supply additional electricity to the city of San Antonio.The dam and lake are managed by CPS Energy of San Antonio. Together with the smaller Victor Braunig Lake, Calaveras Lake was one of the first projects in the nation to use treated wastewater for power plant cooling. The reservoir is partly filled with wastewater that has undergone both primary and secondary treatment at a San Antonio Water System treatment plant. Calaveras Lake also serves as a venue for recreation, including fishing and boating. Sailboats are prohibited on the lake.

Bexar County Learning Center is a secondary alternative school located in San Antonio, Texas, in the East Central Independent School District. The campus serves youth at the Cyndi Taylor Krier Center from across Bexar County. In 2019, the campus was recognized by Georgetown University for their Capstone Project to improve educational outcomes for students at the Krier Center. Former principal Dr. Dustin Breithaupt left the campus to join Lytle ISD as assistant superintendent.

Losoya is an unincorporated community in Bexar County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 322 in 2000. It is a part of the San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan area.

Saspamco is an unincorporated community in Wilson County, Texas, United States. It is situated approximately 11 miles northwest of Floresville. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 443 in 2000. Saspamco was named after the San Antonio Sewer Pipe Manufacturing Company which began operations around 1901 using the red clay of the area to manufacture tile products. Saspamco is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Parita Creek is a stream in southeastern Bexar County, Texas. The stream rises near Adkins and runs southwest for ten miles before meeting Calaveras Creek near Elmendorf.
