Newman's End

Down Hall is a Victorian country house and estate near Hatfield Heath in the English county of Essex, close to its border with Hertfordshire. It is surrounded by 110 acres (0.45 km2) of woodland, parkland and landscaped gardens, some of which is protected by the Essex Wildlife Trust.

Conjoined to Housham Tye is the hamlet of Carter's Green. The M11 motorway is one mile to the west, over which is the town of Harlow. Junction 7 of the M11 is 3 miles (5 km) south-west, through which runs the A414 road to the county town of Chelmsford 15 miles (20 km) to the east.

Sheering is a civil parish and village in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. Sheering village is situated 2.8 miles (5 km) north-east from Harlow, 4.5 miles (7 km) south of Bishop's Stortford and 25 miles (40 km) north-east from London. The Stort Navigation to the west has a lock at Sheering Mill. Lower Sheering, adjacent to Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire and its railway station, forms part of the civil parish. Sheering village has approximately 350 households. There is a Church of England primary school and a public house - The Cock Inn, a general store with a post office, a sandwich shop and a hairdresser's. Bus services connect Sheering to Harlow and Chelmsford. The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin on Church Lane, Sheering is a Grade I listed building. Hatfield Heath is a village, civil parish, and an electoral ward in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England, and at its west is close to the border with Hertfordshire. In close proximity are the towns of Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth. Stansted Airport is approximately 5 miles (8 km) to the north.

Matching Green is a village and the largest settlement in the civil parish of Matching, in Essex, England. It is 3.0 miles (4.8 km) east of Harlow, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-west of Chipping Ongar and 3.9 miles (6.3 km) south-east of Sawbridgeworth. Matching Green has one of the largest village greens in Essex. The green is almost triangular in shape, covers 5.6 hectares (13.8 acres), contains the local cricket field, and is edged by mainly detached cottages and houses dating from the 14th to 19th century, twenty-eight of which are listed buildings. Junction 7 of the M11 is 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest, through which runs the A414 road to the county town of Chelmsford 15 miles (24 km) to the east. Magdalen Laver is a village and a civil parish in the Epping Forest district, in the county of Essex, England. Magdalen Laver is east of Harlow and of close proximity to the M11 motorway. Magdalen Laver has a village hall and a church called St Mary Magdalen. John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales, described Magdalen Laver between 1870 and 1872 as: "A parish in Epping district, Essex; 4¼ miles NW of Ongar, and 4 SE of Harlow r. station."In the same description, Wilson states that the total population at the time was 213.

Lower Sheering is a residential dormitory area based on Sheering Lower Road, in the civil parish of Sheering, and the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. It conjoins the Hertfordshire town of Sawbridgeworth at the north-east of the Essex town of Harlow. Lower Sheering has about 1100 households and lies in the Stort Valley. Businesses include The Maltings, close to Sawbridgeworth railway station on the West Anglia Main Line between Cambridge and Liverpool Street.
