Mount Oglethorpe is a mountain located in Pickens County, Georgia, United States. The southernmost peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the mountain has an elevation of 3,288 feet (1,002 m), making it the highest point in Pickens County, and the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Mount Oglethorpe served as the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail from when the trail was completed in 1937 until 1958. In 1958, as a result of over-development around Mount Oglethorpe, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail was moved about 13 miles (21 km) to the northeast to Springer Mountain.

The Tate House is a historic property east of Tate, Georgia on Georgia State Route 53. Colonel Samuel Tate began construction in 1923 and the mansion was completed in 1928. Designed by Walker and Weeks, architects in the Neo-Classical style, the home is made of pink and white marble (Etowah Marble) supplied by Tate's Georgia Marble Company, and sometimes called the "Pink Palace" or "Pink Marble Mansion". Tate was president of the marble company. In 1938 Colonel Sam Tate died and the mansion began to fall into disrepair. The surviving Tates (Luke & Flora) resided in the mansion until 1955 when they left the home unoccupied. The Tate House is two stories, rectangular, with a hipped roof, two interior chimneys, and a pedimented tetrastyle front entrance portico. At the rear is a slightly projecting pedimented section with a one-story portico. The interior features excellent mural wallpaper and parquet marble floors. In 1974, Mrs. Ann Shattuck of Bisbee, AZ and her husband at the time, Mr. Columbus J. Southerland, bought the house; it was added to the National Register of Historic Placeson May 17, 1974. Ann & Columbus then divorced and she later married Joseph P. Laird in 1981, who completed some of the restorations himself, including the beautifully built sand filled bar in the pub. The restoration project was completed 10 years after the initial purchase by Ann, and it was opened to the public in 1985. In January 2001, the estate was purchased by Holbrook Properties, LP. Lois Holbrook and Marsha Mann plan to continue the restoration of the mansion and gardens. It is a contributing building in the Georgia Marble Company and Tate Historic District.

Tate Gymnasium is a historic building in Tate, Georgia built in 1923 to serve the local high school. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 2002. It is located at 5600 Georgia 53 East.It was built by Col. Sam Tate, president of Georgia Marble Company, workers of that company, and other "community artisans", with all expenses paid by the Colonel and the Georgia Marble Company.

Juno is an unincorporated community in Dawson County, Georgia, United States. It lies along State Route 183 to the northwest of the city of Dawsonville, the county seat of Dawson County. Its elevation is 1,493 feet (455 m).

Tate is an unincorporated community in Pickens County, Georgia, United States. The Georgia Marble Company and Tate Historic District in Tate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic district is centered on GA 53 between GA 5 and Long Swamp Creek. Tate's post office was originally called Marble Works by the United States Postal Service. The area was later known as Harnageville after Ambrose Harnage. The home of Ambrose Harnage was authorized by the Georgia General Assembly to be the first meeting place for county courts for Cherokee County when the county was first established, which functioned as a large territory rather than a true county during the State of Georgia's initial organization of the final Cherokee territory within the state. Elections for a full county government were held in 1832, and court was held at the Harnage house. Prior to that time many county government functions were administered by adjacent counties. In December 1832 Cherokee County was divided into seven other counties and the town was renamed Tate after Colonel Sam Tate in 1880. Other variant names for this place include Harnages, Harnage, and Tateville.

Griffeth-Pendley House is a historic property that includes a log dogtrot home, barn and shed in Jasper, Georgia. It was built by Caleb "Cale" Griffeth III who inherited the 110-acre property from his father Caleb Griffeth II in 1877. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 16, 2008. It is located at 2198 Cove Road.

Mica is an unincorporated community in Cherokee County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The Georgia Marble Company and Tate Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The district is centered on Georgia State Route 53 between Georgia State Route 5 and Long Swamp Creek, in or near Tate, Georgia. The main office of the Georgia Marble Company was built in 1884 in Mission Revival style. It includes the Tate House, which has four 22 feet (6.7 m) columns, and has marble balustrades and fountains designed by Georgia Marble Company designer J. B. Hill. The Tate House was separately listed on the National Register in 1974. The district also includes Late Gothic Revival architecture and Colonial Revival. It also includes the Tate Gymnasium, which was separately listed on the National Register in 2002. Also included: Tate Depot (built after 1900), on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad line Tate Methodist Church (1887), on Georgia Highway 53, a Gothic Revival-style church Methodist Episcopal Church South (c.1887), in Smoky Hollow, built to serve African American employees. Later the Miracle Pentecostal Fellowship Church. Later shared by the Marble Valley Friends and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The district's 550 acres (2.2 km2) include 106 contributing buildings, 15 contributing structures, and seven other contributing sites.

Pickens High School is a public high school in Jasper, Georgia, United States. It serves the communities of Jasper, Nelson, Talking Rock, and Tate. The school serves grades 9–12.

Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is an American auto racing facility that contains two driving circuits in the North Georgia mountains. Designed by Formula One architect Hermann Tilke, Atlanta Motorsports Park's two-mile main road course is held in high regard by outlets such as Road & Track, who named it to its list of Top 10 Tracks in North America. The park is known for the aggressive elevation changes and technical layout. Atlanta Motorsports Park has two “signature” corners as a tribute to Europe's road circuits – Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Germany's Nürburgring. In close proximity to the main circuit, Atlanta Motorsports Park's Driver Development Center has an on-site skid pad and an ice hill, providing a place to test in both wet and dry conditions. Atlanta Motorsports Park's second circuit is a professional kart circuit built to CIK Level A/1 Standards. It is .83 miles in length and has 43 feet of elevation changes.

Amicalola Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is a tributary to the Etowah River. Amicalola Falls, a tall waterfall on its course, lends its name to Amicalola Falls State Park."Amicalola" is a name derived from the Cherokee language meaning "tumbling waters". Many variant names have been recorded, including "Amakalola Creek", "Amicalola River", "Amicolola Creek", "Armacolola Creek", "Armi Caroli Creek", "Armicalola Creek", and "Ummah Caloloke Creek".
