Pedro Gil station is an elevated Light Rail Transit (LRT) station located on the LRT Line 1 (LRT-1) system in Ermita, Manila. It is situated at the corner of Taft Avenue and Pedro Gil Street. The station takes its name from Pedro Gil Street, which is used to be named Herran Street. Pedro Gil station is the seventh station for trains headed to Fernando Poe Jr., and the fourteenth station for trains headed to Baclaran. Landmarks near the station include the Philippine General Hospital, the University of the Philippines Manila, Philippine Christian University, Philippine Women's University, Robinsons Manila, and St. Paul University Manila.

The Philippine Christian University (PCU) is a private, Protestant coeducational basic and higher education institution located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1946 through the initiatives of the laymen of the Evangelical Association of the Philippines. Originally named as Manila Union University, it was renamed as Philippine Christian College (PCC). In 1976, the PCC acquired university status.PCU is one of the two major mainline protestant universities at the heart of Metro Manila. The other is Trinity University of Asia (founded under the auspices of the Protestant Episcopal Church). It is also a member institution of Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU). The university maintains a satellite campus in Iloilo City through a partnership with the St. Roberts International Academy.

The St. Paul University Manila, also referred to by its acronym SPUM or SPU Manila, is a private, Catholic coeducational basic and higher education institution established and run by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres in Dumaguete City, Philippines. It was established in 1912 by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC), a religious congregation founded in Chartres, France in 1698. It was previously an all-girls' school and turned co-ed beginning school year 2005-2006.On 1912, St. Paul's Manila opened a Kindergarten school with an enrollment of six girls, upon request of the families in the neighborhood.The school was named St. Paul Institution. Grade I was opened in 1913 with one higher grade opened each year and boys accepted up to Grade 2. The Grade School Department was given government recognition when it has reached Grade 6.

The Philippine General Hospital (also known as University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital or UP–Philippine General Hospital), simply referred to as UP–PGH or PGH, is a tertiary state-owned hospital administered and operated by the University of the Philippines Manila. It is designated as the National University Hospital, and the national government referral center. It stands within a 10-hectare (25-acre) site located at the UP Manila Campus in Ermita, Manila. PGH has 1,100 beds and 400 private beds, and has an estimated of 4,000 employees to serve more than 600,000 patients every year.The PGH, being the largest training hospital in the country, is the laboratory hospital of health science students enrolled in the University of the Philippines. This includes students of medicine, nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, occupational therapy, dentistry, and speech pathology. There are 16 clinical departments under the Philippine General Hospital — Family and Community Medicine, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurosciences, Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiology, Pathology, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Dermatology—all of which offer residency and fellowship training. It also offers various training for paramedical specialties such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, radiation technology, nutrition, hospital dentistry, medical technology and EMT training.

The Philippine Women's University (PWU) is a tertiary education school which has its main campus in Manila, Philippines. An institution exclusive for girls from its inception until the 1970s, the PWU now admits both women and men as its students. PWU's basic education department is called the Jose Abad Santos Memorial School (PWU JASMS) and has two campuses in Manila and Quezon City.

The Iglesia Filipina Independiente National Cathedral, canonically known as the Cathedral of the Holy Child, is the national cathedral of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (Philippine Independent Church) and the seat of the Obispo Maximo (Supreme Bishop), the Church's chief pastor and spiritual head, located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It was built in 1969 and was dedicated to the honor of the Holy Infant Jesus, patron of Tondo, Manila. It replaced the first cathedral in Tondo, built in 1905, which was completely destroyed during World War II.

Robinsons Manila (formerly Robinsons Place Manila, also known as Robinsons Ermita and Robinsons Place Ermita), is a large shopping mall located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It is the largest Robinsons Mall ever built. Robinsons Manila is located beside the University of the Philippines Manila and the Philippine General Hospital, and is built at the site of the former Ateneo de Manila Campus before it moved to Loyola Heights, Quezon City. The first major expansion of the mall happened when it opened its Padre Faura Wing in June 2000. The mall was further expanded in 2006 when the nearby Midtown Hotel was demolished to make way for the construction of its Midtown Wing and the Adriatico Place Residences Robinsons Manila is connected to two high-rise residential condominiums: the 37-storey twin tower Robinsons Place Residences, and the triple tower Adriatico Place Residences.

Padre Faura Street is an east-west street in downtown Manila, Philippines. It carries traffic one-way westbound from Romualdez Street to Roxas Boulevard. Starting at its eastern terminus at Paco Park in Paco district, the street heads west for a short stretch towards the intersection with Taft Avenue where the Manila Science High School is located. Past the intersection, the street traverses the district of Ermita and touches upon a number of important government institutions such as the Supreme Court and Department of Justice, as well as the Philippine General Hospital. Also located along this stretch of Padre Faura are the UP Manila College of Arts and Sciences, Robinsons Place Manila, and a number of hotels and condominiums. The street ends at the intersection with Roxas Boulevard, just across from the United States Embassy. The street was named after the Jesuit priest Federico Faura, a Spanish director of the Manila Observatory (Observatorio Meteorológico de Manila) that was located along the street. It was formerly called Observatorio Street. The Manila Observatory was located at the former Ateneo Municipal campus along Padre Faura, now replaced by Robinsons Place Manila.

The Philippine Nurses Association is a professional organization in the Philippines established to promote the holistic welfare of nurses and to prepare them to be globally-competitive. It used to be known as Filipino Nurses Association (FNA). It was founded by Anastacia Giron-Tupas in 1922. The headquarters is located at 1663 F.T. Benitez Street, in Malate, Manila.

The Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) is an electoral tribunal that decides election protests involving the election of the President of the Philippines and Vice President of the Philippines. It is composed of justices of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. The equivalent tribunals for the Congress of the Philippines are House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal and the Senate Electoral Tribunal. It was established under Republic Act No. 1793 on June 21, 1957 during the term of then President Carlos P. Garcia and re-constituted under Batas Pambansa Blg. 884 (National Law No. 884) on December 3, 1985 during the term of then President Ferdinand Marcos.Members of the Tribunal receive a monthly allowance of 100,000 Philippine pesos on top of their regular salary.
