Sainte-Rose is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It is located within the city of Laval, Quebec. It was created for the 2012 election from parts of Fabre and Vimont electoral districts.Including its predecessor ridings (Vimont from 1981 to 2012 and Fabre before that), Sainte-Rose has voted for the governing party in every election since 1970.

Sainte-Dorothée is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was a separate city until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965. The Sainte-Dorothée that was known for forest and farmlands is no longer what it used to be. It took a giant transformation during the last decade with the arrival of SmartCentre (formerly Mega Centre) Sainte-Dorothée and Mega Centre Notre-Dame. It began with the construction of Canadian Tire, IGA & followed with the first Wal-Mart Canada in the western Laval area. The expansion has never stopped since. It now has almost every major department store, restaurant, hundreds of boutiques and two locations open 24 hours. The area also saw a rise in demand for residential development, possibly due to the "Mega Mall" alongside the Highway 13 or the other way around as the mall was built to accommodate the growing number of families looking for affordable homes near the Montreal area. Given the proximity of Ste-Dorothée to Pierrefonds, Saint-Laurent, the rest of Montreal and major highways, it was only a matter of time that it would be developed. A small seasonal cable ferry carries cars across the Rivière des Prairies from Sainte-Dorothée to Île Bizard (part of Montreal). In 2016, the district had a population of 65,890 people.

Fabre is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The district is located in Laval and includes the westernmost portion of Île Jésus (or Île de Laval) west of Autoroute 15 in the northern half of the district and west of Autoroute 13 in the southern half. It was created for the 1966 election from a part of Laval electoral district electoral district. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost part of its territory to the newly created Sainte-Rose electoral district, but gained some territory from Chomedey. In the change from the 2011 to 2017 electoral map, it will gain some more territory from Chomedey, in the area around Parc Le Boutillier. The district is named after Édouard-Charles Fabre who was the third archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal from 1876 to 1896.

Of the population, 15.9% are Christian Orthodox, and 14.0% are of Greek ethnic origin, both the highest such percentages in Canada.

Saint-Martin is a former municipality, now part of the Chomedey neighbourhood of the city of Laval, Quebec, Canada, corresponding roughly to the Roman Catholic parish of Saint-Martin. The parish church, Église Saint-Martin, is located at 4080, boulevard Saint-Martin. The city of Laval operates Parc Saint-Martin, a public park at 4025, rue Gaboury. Saint-Martin, a commuter railway station that no longer exists, was also located here.

Centre 2000 was an indoor shopping mall on St. Martin boulevard in the Chomedey district of Laval, Quebec, Canada. Opened in 1973 as the first hypermarket in North America (under the name: Centre 2000: Hypermarche), the one store occupied over 80% of the entire floor space, on one side of the mall. The other side was composed of a line of small boutiques and two walkways to the parking lot. The Hypermarché store boasted 49 checkout counters and the concept was similar to that of a Costco store, with a mix of food and other goods, with warehouse shelving right in the shopping area.In 1976 the hypermarket split into a Towers (Bonimart) and Food City, and the rest of the mall subdivided into several separate stores. By 1977 the mall had 60 stores. The mall's anchors included a Cineplex-Odeon theatre, Pinocchio's arcade, and the remnants of the original split hypermarket: Zellers and Maxi. Lamp-posts in the mall's parking lot were marked with animal pictorials. The mall was completely vacant by the end of the 1990s and then closed. It was demolished between 2000 and 2001, excluding the adjacent (but detached) Leon's furniture store, which was heavily renovated and still remains to this day. In early 2011, Centre 2000's parking lot and remaining foundation were demolished. The property is now part of Centropolis Laval, which is currently building on the site. In 2012 most of the property was used to build a Walmart Supercentre, following a relocation from the nearby Centre Laval mall.

Carrefour Laval (corporately styled as "CF Carrefour Laval") is a super regional shopping mall in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the Chomedey neighbourhood of the city at the intersection of Autoroute des Laurentides (Laurentian Expressway) (A-15) and Autoroute Jean-Noël-Lavoie (A-440).At 115,478 m2 or 1,242,990 sq ft, it is both the largest enclosed shopping centre in the Montreal area and the largest mall operating on a single floor in all of Quebec. Virtually untouched by the ongoing decline of indoor malls, it typically ranks among the top shopping centres in Quebec for its number of visitors as well as sales per square foot and has been home to many retail firsts in the province.

Laurier Senior High School (LSHS), originally Laval Catholic High School (LCHS), was an Anglophone senior high school in Laval, Quebec. A part of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB), it operated the last three secondary grades. In order to adjust to deconfessionalization, the school was renamed from Laval Catholic High School to Laurier Senior High School on July 1, 2005. At around the same time, its corresponding junior high school in the same building, Sacred Heart Middle School, was renamed to Mother Teresa Junior High School. This name was chosen for the latter because its namesake had visited the building in October 1988.The original school and its original campus (building) opened in 1969, but originally serving all secondary grades. It was preceded by Chomedey Catholic, which was another building. Within the next twenty years, Sacred Heart Middle School was opened in the same building and from then on, the juniors (students in the first two secondary grades) and the seniors (students in the last three secondary grades) were served separately. The school's attendance boundary was all of Laval. On July 1, 2015, it merged with Laval Liberty High School to form Laval Senior Academy.

Laval was a former provincial electoral district in the province of Quebec, Canada. It was located in the Laval region north of Montreal, but for some of its history it also included parts of Montreal itself. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). The final election where Laval was a riding was in 1976. Electoral district boundaries were changed for the 1981 election and its successor electoral districts were Fabre and Chomedey.

Laval ( lə-VAL, French: [laval] ) is a city in Quebec, Canada. It is in the southwest of the province, north of Montreal. It is the largest suburb of Montreal, the third-largest city in the province after Montreal and Quebec City, and the thirteenth largest city in Canada, with a population of 443,192 in 2021. Laval is geographically separated from the mainland to the north by the Rivière des Mille Îles, and from the Island of Montreal to the south by the Rivière des Prairies. Laval occupies all of Île Jésus as well as the Îles Laval. Laval constitutes one of the 17 administrative regions of Quebec, with a region code of 13, as well as a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) with geographical code 65. It also constitutes the judicial district of Laval. It is the smallest administrative region in the province by area.

Laval was a former regional county municipality whose territory coincided with the city of Laval, Quebec. It was established in 1979, whereas the city itself had been constituted in 1965. While it existed, it was the most populous regional county municipality in Quebec. It ceased to exist by January 1, 2002, in the midst of the early 2000s municipal reorganization in Quebec. Although the city of Laval itself was unaffected, legislation gave newly constituted cities arising from that municipal reorganization the powers of a regional county municipality for the purpose of certain laws, and Laval got similar powers. Today, Laval is not part of any regional county municipality; for statistical and census purposes, it is considered a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality.
