Saint-Martin, Laval, Quebec

Centre 2000 was an indoor shopping mall on St. Martin boulevard in the Chomedey district of Laval, Quebec, Canada. Opened in 1973 as the first hypermarket in North America (under the name: Centre 2000: Hypermarche), the one store occupied over 80% of the entire floor space, on one side of the mall. The other side was composed of a line of small boutiques and two walkways to the parking lot. The Hypermarché store boasted 49 checkout counters and the concept was similar to that of a Costco store, with a mix of food and other goods, with warehouse shelving right in the shopping area.In 1976 the hypermarket split into a Towers (Bonimart) and Food City, and the rest of the mall subdivided into several separate stores. By 1977 the mall had 60 stores. The mall's anchors included a Cineplex-Odeon theatre, Pinocchio's arcade, and the remnants of the original split hypermarket: Zellers and Maxi. Lamp-posts in the mall's parking lot were marked with animal pictorials. The mall was completely vacant by the end of the 1990s and then closed. It was demolished between 2000 and 2001, excluding the adjacent (but detached) Leon's furniture store, which was heavily renovated and still remains to this day. In early 2011, Centre 2000's parking lot and remaining foundation were demolished. The property is now part of Centropolis Laval, which is currently building on the site. In 2012 most of the property was used to build a Walmart Supercentre, following a relocation from the nearby Centre Laval mall.

The Bibliothèques de Laval, is the public library system of Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is one of the largest French language public library systems in the province and in North America. There are nine different branches listed below.The bibliothèque Multiculturelle is the only one that has English and foreign language books; the other 9 are mostly French (with the exception of magazines, CDs, DVDs and videos). In 1995, Laval public library lent more than 2 million documents, to almost 92,000 readers in 25,731 opened hours.

Laval Senior Academy (LSA) is an English-language senior high school in located in Laval, Québec. It is operated by the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. It was created on July 1, 2015, by the merger of Laval Liberty High School and Laurier Senior High School.

Laval Liberty High School (LLHS) was an Anglophone senior high school in Laval, Quebec and a part of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB). It was formed in 2005 after Western Laval High School was split into two schools, with lower secondary levels forming Laval Junior High School. On July 1, 2015, it merged with Laurier Senior High School to form Laval Senior Academy.

Western Laval High School was a junior and senior high school in Laval, Quebec, Canada, that was part of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. It existed for 33 years before its closure in 2005.

Chomedey Polyvalent High School (CPHS) (French: l'École secondaire Chomedey Polyvalent) was a junior and senior high school in Laval. Prior to its name change, it was a part of the Laurenval and then later Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. It was located at 3200 Blvd du Souvenir in Laval. Its current incarnation is Laval Senior Academy.

Laurier Senior High School (LSHS), originally Laval Catholic High School (LCHS), was an Anglophone senior high school in Laval, Quebec. A part of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB), it operated the last three secondary grades. In order to adjust to deconfessionalization, the school was renamed from Laval Catholic High School to Laurier Senior High School on July 1, 2005. At around the same time, its corresponding junior high school in the same building, Sacred Heart Middle School, was renamed to Mother Teresa Junior High School. This name was chosen for the latter because its namesake had visited the building in October 1988.The original school and its original campus (building) opened in 1969, but originally serving all secondary grades. It was preceded by Chomedey Catholic, which was another building. Within the next twenty years, Sacred Heart Middle School was opened in the same building and from then on, the juniors (students in the first two secondary grades) and the seniors (students in the last three secondary grades) were served separately. The school's attendance boundary was all of Laval. On July 1, 2015, it merged with Laval Liberty High School to form Laval Senior Academy.

The Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (JRH) is a bilingual hospital offering general and specialized rehabilitation services in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is the regional center in physical rehabilitation for adult and pediatric clients.

Terminus Le Carrefour is an Exo bus terminus across boulevard Le Carrefour from the Carrefour Laval at the corner of Terry Fox Avenue. It is one block west of Autoroute 15. A Radisson Hotel is located between Terry Fox Avenue and the Autoroute, and a Hilton Hotel and a Sheraton Hotel are nearby. South of the terminus are 226 park and ride spaces.

Cosmodome is a space science museum and education centre located in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Cosmodome is the home to both Space Camp Canada and the Space Science Centre (a museum). Space Camp Canada welcomed its first campers in July 1994 while the Space Science Centre opened its doors to the public in December 1994.

Carrefour Laval (corporately styled as "CF Carrefour Laval") is a super regional shopping mall in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the Chomedey neighbourhood of the city at the intersection of Autoroute des Laurentides (Laurentian Expressway) (A-15) and Autoroute Jean-Noël-Lavoie (A-440).At 115,478 m2 or 1,242,990 sq ft, it is both the largest enclosed shopping centre in the Montreal area and the largest mall operating on a single floor in all of Quebec. Virtually untouched by the ongoing decline of indoor malls, it typically ranks among the top shopping centres in Quebec for its number of visitors as well as sales per square foot and has been home to many retail firsts in the province.

Laval was a former provincial electoral district in the province of Quebec, Canada. It was located in the Laval region north of Montreal, but for some of its history it also included parts of Montreal itself. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). The final election where Laval was a riding was in 1976. Electoral district boundaries were changed for the 1981 election and its successor electoral districts were Fabre and Chomedey.
