Laval Regional County Municipality

Laval ( lə-VAL, French: [laval] ) is a city in Quebec, Canada. It is in the southwest of the province, north of Montreal. It is the largest suburb of Montreal, the third-largest city in the province after Montreal and Quebec City, and the thirteenth largest city in Canada, with a population of 443,192 in 2021. Laval is geographically separated from the mainland to the north by the Rivière des Mille Îles, and from the Island of Montreal to the south by the Rivière des Prairies. Laval occupies all of Île Jésus as well as the Îles Laval. Laval constitutes one of the 17 administrative regions of Quebec, with a region code of 13, as well as a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) with geographical code 65. It also constitutes the judicial district of Laval. It is the smallest administrative region in the province by area.

Île Jésus (French: [il ʒezy], Jesus Island) is a river island in southwestern Quebec, separated from the mainland to the north by the Rivière des Mille Îles, and from the Island of Montreal to the south by the Rivière des Prairies. It is the second-largest (242 km2 (93 sq mi)) island in the Hochelaga Archipelago (after the Island of Montreal), and the fourth most populous island in Canada, with more than 420,000 residents as of 2016. Île Jésus is the major component of the City of Laval, along with the Îles Laval and several other islands. The island still has a considerable rural portion, with most of the urban area in the central region and along the south and west river banks.

Laval was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1917, 1949 to 1979, and from 2004 to 2015.

Laval was a former provincial electoral district in the province of Quebec, Canada. It was located in the Laval region north of Montreal, but for some of its history it also included parts of Montreal itself. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). The final election where Laval was a riding was in 1976. Electoral district boundaries were changed for the 1981 election and its successor electoral districts were Fabre and Chomedey.

Carrefour Laval (corporately styled as "CF Carrefour Laval") is a super regional shopping mall in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the Chomedey neighbourhood of the city at the intersection of Autoroute des Laurentides (Laurentian Expressway) (A-15) and Autoroute Jean-Noël-Lavoie (A-440).At 115,478 m2 or 1,242,990 sq ft, it is both the largest enclosed shopping centre in the Montreal area and the largest mall operating on a single floor in all of Quebec. Virtually untouched by the ongoing decline of indoor malls, it typically ranks among the top shopping centres in Quebec for its number of visitors as well as sales per square foot and has been home to many retail firsts in the province.

Terminus Le Carrefour is an Exo bus terminus across boulevard Le Carrefour from the Carrefour Laval at the corner of Terry Fox Avenue. It is one block west of Autoroute 15. A Radisson Hotel is located between Terry Fox Avenue and the Autoroute, and a Hilton Hotel and a Sheraton Hotel are nearby. South of the terminus are 226 park and ride spaces.

Cosmodome is a space science museum and education centre located in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Cosmodome is the home to both Space Camp Canada and the Space Science Centre (a museum). Space Camp Canada welcomed its first campers in July 1994 while the Space Science Centre opened its doors to the public in December 1994.

Laurier Senior High School (LSHS), originally Laval Catholic High School (LCHS), was an Anglophone senior high school in Laval, Quebec. A part of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB), it operated the last three secondary grades. In order to adjust to deconfessionalization, the school was renamed from Laval Catholic High School to Laurier Senior High School on July 1, 2005. At around the same time, its corresponding junior high school in the same building, Sacred Heart Middle School, was renamed to Mother Teresa Junior High School. This name was chosen for the latter because its namesake had visited the building in October 1988.The original school and its original campus (building) opened in 1969, but originally serving all secondary grades. It was preceded by Chomedey Catholic, which was another building. Within the next twenty years, Sacred Heart Middle School was opened in the same building and from then on, the juniors (students in the first two secondary grades) and the seniors (students in the last three secondary grades) were served separately. The school's attendance boundary was all of Laval. On July 1, 2015, it merged with Laval Liberty High School to form Laval Senior Academy.

Vimont station is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is served by the Saint-Jérôme line. The station is in ARTM fare zone B, and currently has 200 parking spaces. Prior to the reform of the ARTM's fare structure in July 2022, it was in zone 3.

Centre 2000 was an indoor shopping mall on St. Martin boulevard in the Chomedey district of Laval, Quebec, Canada. Opened in 1973 as the first hypermarket in North America (under the name: Centre 2000: Hypermarche), the one store occupied over 80% of the entire floor space, on one side of the mall. The other side was composed of a line of small boutiques and two walkways to the parking lot. The Hypermarché store boasted 49 checkout counters and the concept was similar to that of a Costco store, with a mix of food and other goods, with warehouse shelving right in the shopping area.In 1976 the hypermarket split into a Towers (Bonimart) and Food City, and the rest of the mall subdivided into several separate stores. By 1977 the mall had 60 stores. The mall's anchors included a Cineplex-Odeon theatre, Pinocchio's arcade, and the remnants of the original split hypermarket: Zellers and Maxi. Lamp-posts in the mall's parking lot were marked with animal pictorials. The mall was completely vacant by the end of the 1990s and then closed. It was demolished between 2000 and 2001, excluding the adjacent (but detached) Leon's furniture store, which was heavily renovated and still remains to this day. In early 2011, Centre 2000's parking lot and remaining foundation were demolished. The property is now part of Centropolis Laval, which is currently building on the site. In 2012 most of the property was used to build a Walmart Supercentre, following a relocation from the nearby Centre Laval mall.

Centre Laval is a shopping mall located in the Chomedey district of Laval, Quebec, Canada, at the corner of Saint-Martin West and Le Corbusier boulevard. It is a 10-minute walk from the Montmorency metro station in nearby Laval-des-Rapides. Centre Laval is paired with Quartier Laval, a power centre across the street owned by the same company, with which it makes a shopping complex called DUO. Though located only 2.5 km (1.6 mi) away from the bigger and more popular Carrefour Laval, Centre Laval is a large shopping mall in its own right with nearly 700,000 square feet (65,000 m2) of retail space. It has 130 shops, services and department stores, including anchors Hudson's Bay, Marshall's/HomeSense, The Brick, Best Buy, Staples, Lee Valley, Avril Supermarché Santé and Décathlon. Other tenants of importance include Mark's and Ares. There is also a branch of the Bank of Montreal.
