Laval—Les Îles is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Its population in 2001 was 100,137. Of the population, 15.9% are Christian Orthodox, and 14.0% are of Greek ethnic origin, both the highest such percentages in Canada.

CJLV is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Laval, Quebec, near Montreal. Owned and operated by Radio Humsafar Inc, it broadcasts on 1570 kHz with a power of 10,000 watts as a class B station, using a directional antenna pointing east which has a slightly directional pattern during the day and a much tighter pattern at night, to protect Class-A clear-channel station XERF-AM in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. The station's nighttime signal has been received by many DXers in Europe and is considered there as one of the "easy" targets for Transatlantic DX.

The 1987 du Maurier Classic was contested from July 9–12 at Islesmere Golf Club in Laval, Quebec. It was the edition 15th of the du Maurier Classic, and the ninth edition as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This event was won by Jody Rosenthal.

Sainte-Dorothée is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was a separate city until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965. The Sainte-Dorothée that was known for forest and farmlands is no longer what it used to be. It took a giant transformation during the last decade with the arrival of SmartCentre (formerly Mega Centre) Sainte-Dorothée and Mega Centre Notre-Dame. It began with the construction of Canadian Tire, IGA & followed with the first Wal-Mart Canada in the western Laval area. The expansion has never stopped since. It now has almost every major department store, restaurant, hundreds of boutiques and two locations open 24 hours. The area also saw a rise in demand for residential development, possibly due to the "Mega Mall" alongside the Highway 13 or the other way around as the mall was built to accommodate the growing number of families looking for affordable homes near the Montreal area. Given the proximity of Ste-Dorothée to Pierrefonds, Saint-Laurent, the rest of Montreal and major highways, it was only a matter of time that it would be developed. A small seasonal cable ferry carries cars across the Rivière des Prairies from Sainte-Dorothée to Île Bizard (part of Montreal). In 2016, the district had a population of 65,890 people.

Île Pariseau is a small island located in the Rivière des Prairies across the river from Île Bizard and Montreal Island. The island is part of Îles Laval which is linked to Île Jésus (Sainte Dorothée, Laval), Quebec, Canada. Îles Laval became part of Laval in 1965.

The Rapides du Cheval Blanc, or White Horse Rapids, flow between the Island of Montreal, Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Sainte-Dorothée, Laval on the Rivière des Prairies in Quebec. The Rapides du Cheval Blanc also include a protected wooded area, a public city park adjacent to the rapids, and to a fault line underneath the area.

The Îles Laval are an island grouping in the Rivière des Prairies in southwestern Quebec, part of the Hochelaga Archipelago. Formerly an independent municipality (Les Îles-Laval), they became part of the city of Laval on August 6, 1965.

Île-Bigras was a commuter rail station operated by the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM) in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It was served by the Deux-Montagnes line. It is a future Réseau express métropolitain station.

Île Bigras is the largest of the four islands that make up the Îles-Laval archipelago in the Rivière des Prairies in Quebec. They all are part of the city of Laval since 1965. The 1 km (0.62 mi) Île Bigras was named in 1817 as Île Amesse, after the name of its owner, Louis Amesse (other more recent maps have also shown the names Île Boiret and Île Boisvert). The island was bought in 1890 by Émilien Bigras, who gave it his name. He was also the owner of the three other islands of the archipelago: Île Pariseau, Île Verte and Île Ronde. Thanks to the Deux-Montagnes commuter train line and its station, the island is less than 30 minutes from Downtown Montreal and Central Station. It is also less than a quarter-hour from the seasonal reaction ferry that connects Île Bizard with Laval-sur-le-Lac. A park and ride at the station can accommodate several cars.

Laval-sur-le-Lac is a small sector on the western part of Laval and was a separate city until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965. This community contains North America's oldest French speaking private golf club, Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac, established in 1917. The seasonal Laval-sur-le-Lac–Île-Bizard Ferry, which does not operate in winter, connects Laval-sur-le-Lac with Île Bizard.
