Mitaka Station (三鷹駅, Mitaka-eki) is a passenger railway station located in the city of Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). Part of the station (north of the Tamagawa Aqueduct) is located in the Nakacho neighborhood of Musashino, Tokyo.

The Ghibli Museum (三鷹の森ジブリ美術館, Mitaka no Mori Jiburi Bijutsukan, Mitaka Forest Ghibli Museum) is a museum showcasing the work of the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli. It is located in Inokashira Park in Mitaka, a western city of Tokyo, Japan. The museum combines features of a children's museum, technology museum, and a fine arts museum, and is dedicated to the art and technique of animation. Features include a replica of the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro (1988), a café, bookstore, rooftop garden, and a theater for exclusive short films by Studio Ghibli.

Inokashira Park Zoo (Japanese: いのかしらしぜんぶんかえん; Kanji: 井の頭自然文化園) is a city zoo in Musashino, Tokyo. It is in a corner of Inokashira Park near the Ghibli Museum. A branch of the zoo is in Mitaka. It opened on May 17, 1942.

Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University (日本獣医生命科学大学, Nippon jūi seimei kagaku daigaku), NVLU in short, is a private university in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded 1881, and it was chartered as a university in 1949. Since 1952 NVLU has been merged into the Nippon Medical School (日本医科大学 Nihon ika daigaku), although they maintain separate identities for the medical and veterinary schools.

Inokashira Park (井の頭恩賜公園, Inokashira Onshi Kōen) is a park which straddles Musashino and Mitaka in western Tokyo, Japan. Inokashira Pond (井の頭池) and the Kanda River water source (神田上水, Kanda jōsui), established during the Edo period, are the primary sources of the Kanda River. The land was given to Tokyo in 1913. On May 1, 1917, it opened under the name Inokashira Onshi Kōen (井の頭恩賜公園), which can be translated as, "Inokashira Imperial Grant Park". Thus the park was considered a gift from the Emperor to the general public.

It was designed to cater to Japanese children, whereas other Indian international schools in Japan were established mainly for Indian children.

Its name derives from a passage in the Records of the Grand Historian by Sima Qian. Its campus is noted for its rows of zelkova trees, which is listed as one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan.

Kichijōji Station (吉祥寺駅, Kichijōji-eki) is an interchange passenger railway station serving Kichijōji in the city of Musashino, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and the private railway operator Keio Corporation.

Kichijōji (吉祥寺) is a neighborhood in the city of Musashino in Western Tokyo, Japan. It is centered on a compact but popular commercial area to the north and south of Kichijoji Station, with a full range of shops, restaurants, bars, and coffee houses. The area is a popular center for shopping and leisure in the Tokyo metropolitan area due in part to its close proximity to Inokashira Park and Inokashira Park Zoo. Kichijoji has been voted the number 1 place in Japan that Japanese would like to live every year since the 1990s according to polls by the magazine CNN GO. Kichijōji Station is served by the Chūō Line which runs to Tokyo Central Station in around 30 minutes, the Sobu Line, the Tozai Line and is also a terminus of the Keiō Inokashira Line, which takes passengers as far as Shibuya in around 20 minutes on the express service.
