Getterön Nature Reserve (Swedish: Getteröns naturreservat) is a nature reserve at Getterön in Varberg Municipality, Sweden. It consists of parts of the peninsula Getterön and an area to the north. It has an area of 350 hectares, of which 235 are land. The reserve was established in 1970. Getterön Nature Reserve is protected as a Natura 2000 site and included in the Ramsar list. Getterön Nature Reserve is one of northern Europe's premier birdwatching sites. In the reserve's wetland nesting species like gadwall, garganey, black-tailed godwit, ruff, dunlin, little tern, and pied avocet. The pied avocet also serves as a symbol for the nature reserve. Also in the winters there are many different species at Getterön, for example little grebe, water rail, common kingfisher, Eurasian bittern, bearded reedling, whooper swan, and smew. Also birds of prey, like the peregrine falcon, are common.

Komedianten ("The Trouper") is a cultural centre with a public library, art gallery and performing operations in Varberg, Sweden. The library is the main public library in Varberg Municipality, and also the municipality's largest public library. The library has been at its present location since 1981. In 2010–2012, the library was expanded with an additional floor and converted to the current arts center, which was inaugurated on 14 January 2012. The name comes from the block which is named Komedianten, because of the theatre that was built on the property next to the cultural centre in 1895. Since 2012, the theatre is integrated with the cultural centre. A trouper (Swedish: komediant) was formerly a traveling actor, and the word was considered by the municipal executive board in Varberg to be an appropriate name for the cultural center, with a clear reference to world of culture.

Varberg railway station is located in Varberg, Sweden, at the West Coast Line and the endpoint of the Viskadal Line. The station is located around 300 metres (980 ft) from the traditional midpoint of the city. Regional and city buses stop nearby.

Gamla Varberg (Swedish: "Old Varberg") is a nature reserve in Varberg Municipality, Sweden. It was established in 1966. The nature reserve consists of a hill with the same name and the surrounding area. It is located at the Kattegat. From the top of the hill, there is a beautiful view over the sea and the island Balgö. In earlier times, the hill worked as a beacon hill. On the top, there is a cairn from the Bronze Age. For a long time, Gamla Varberg and its surroundings was a grazed outfield. In the area, there were only a few homesteads. In the 1950s, junipers began to grow in the area. In the 1990s, the junipers were removed and the landscape restored. On the heathland at Gamla Varberg, there are species like devils-bit scabious, wild thyme, Pedicularis sylvatica, and marsh gentian. On the shore meadow at Kattegat, there are Armeria maritima, Trifolium fragiferum, shore arrowgrass, and Salicornia europaea. Inside the nature reserve, there are birds like the northern lapwing, common redshank, and Eurasian oystercatcher.

The Bexell Cottage (Swedish: Bexellska stugan) is a small cottage in Varberg, Sweden. It has been turned into a historical heritage mini-museum. In Bexell Cottage there are furnitures and painted wall tapestry from the 19th century. The tapestry cover the walls and ceiling of the cottage. Originally, they were only used for Christmas, but today they are posted all the year around. Bexell Cottage can be visited by the public at the shows of the cottage that are arranged by Halland Museum of Cultural History.

Varberg Church (Swedish: Varbergs kyrka) is situated at the marketplace in Varberg, Halland County, Sweden. The church was completed in 1772, as a replacement of an elder church from 1687 that was destroyed in a fire on 18 May 1767. The interior of the church is neoclassical. Mostly of it is from the 19th century. The retable is from 1816. The pulpit was set in during a restoration of the church in 1890–1891. The wooden baptismal font has seven edges. It was made from oak in the 17th century. It comes from an elder church that was destroyed in a fire on 12 August 1666. At this time, the city of Varberg was situated in an area called Platsarna. The city was moved to its current location after the fire in 1666. A sacristy was built to the north in 1961. It is the parish church of Varberg Parish, and the eldest and biggest one of the four churches in the parish.

Varberg Fortress (Swedish: Varbergs fästning) is a former fortification in Varberg, Halland County, Sweden, which currently serves as a museum.

Påskbergsvallen, 2020–2022 known as Varberg Energi Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a football and track and field athletics stadium in Varberg, Sweden and the home stadium for the football team Varbergs BoIS. Påskbergsvallen has a total capacity of 4,500 spectators.It was inaugurated on 2 July 1925 by King Gustaf V of Sweden.

Halland Museum of Cultural History (Swedish: Hallands kulturhistoriska museum) is a museum of cultural history in Varberg, Sweden. The museum was formerly known as Varberg County Museum (Swedish: Länsmuseet Varberg). The name was changed in 2011.The museum is situated in the Varberg Fortress. It also consists of Bexell Cottage (Bexellska stugan), Galtabäck boat museum (Båtmuseet i Galtabäcks hamn) and Fågelboet, the former home of the author August Bondeson (1854-1906).The most important and famous exhibit at the museum is Bocksten Man, the remains of a man murdered during the fourteenth century.

Varberg Municipality (Varbergs kommun) is a municipality in Halland County, in southwest Sweden. Its seat is in Varberg. It was formed in 1971 through the amalgamation of the City of Varberg and the surrounding rural municipalities. There are 25 original local government entities included in the municipality. 5,000 people are commuting out from the municipality, mainly to Gothenburg and Falkenberg. 3,200 people are commuting into Falkenberg.
