Shiramine Shrine (白峯神宮, Shiramine jingū) is a Shinto Shrine in Kamigyō-ku, KyotoThe Shrine is dedicated to the veneration of the kami of Emperor Junnin and Emperor Sutoku. Kyoto International School (KIS), formerly known as Kyoto Christian Day School, is an international school in Kyoto, Japan, founded in 1957. It serves students from 3 to 16 years old. Kamigyō-ku (上京区, かみぎょうく) is one of the eleven wards in the city of Kyoto, in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The ward was a district of residences for the royalty, aristocrats and upper classes in the old capital of JapanーHeian-kyō. Located in the center of the present-day city of Kyoto, Japan, it previously occupied the northern region of the ancient capital of Kyoto. The Kamo River flows on the eastern border of the ward. The ward is home to the Kyoto Imperial Palace, the Kitano Tenmangu Shinto shrine, the Seimei shrine, nishijin-ori textiles, and the headquarters of the Omotesenke and Urasenke schools of Japanese tea ceremony. As of 2020, Kamigyō-ku had a population of 83,832 people. The Masugata Shōtengai Shopping District, is the setting of the 2013 anime series, Tamako Market, produced by Kyoto Animation.

The Senbonza theater was a theater in Kyoto, Japan, in the late 19th century. Actor Onoe Matsunosuke worked there near the start of his career in 1889, at which time Shōzō Makino was the manager of the theater was directing there. The Yokota Shōkai film importation company often screened foreign films at the theater, which had originally been the home of a small touring kabuki group.

Funaoka Onsen (船岡温泉) is an onsen (public bath house) in Kyoto, Japan. The building is made out of wood and dates to 1923. The authorities registered it as a Tangible Cultural Property. The front entrance gate features a karahafu undulating curved gable at the top, a feature that can be found often in Japanese castles. The interior has ornately covered panels out of wood which depict mythological stories. It was carved by artists who work for the Imperial Court and it took them around 10 years to complete.

Imadegawa Station (今出川駅, Imadegawa-eki) is a train station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan. It is the closest station to the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
