Preakness Stud was the Thoroughbred horse racing and breeding operation established by Medway, Massachusetts businessman Milton H. Sanford in the Preakness section of Wayne, New Jersey at what today is the corner of Valley Road and Preakness Avenue.Milton Sanford named one of his horses Preakness who won the first running of the Dinner Party Stakes and for whom the Preakness Stakes is named.

Wayne Valley High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school, in Wayne, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school serves students in ninth through twelfth grades as one of the two secondary schools of the Wayne Public Schools, the other being Wayne Hills High School. The school is also accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education and has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1954. Wayne Valley's school colors are blue and white.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,204 students and 115.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.5:1. Preakness Valley Park and Golf Course is located in Wayne Township and Totowa Borough, New Jersey, United States, along Totowa Road (County Road 644) and Riverview Drive (County Road 640). Of the total 377 acres in the park, 298 acres are located in Wayne and 79 are located in Totowa. The park contains a Golf Course, which is a public 36 hole course. Made public in 1931, this full service course is considered the first public golf course in Passaic County. It has a clubhouse, caddy house, practice facilities, and on site maintenance facilities. Also located on the park is Dey Mansion, a historical site famous for being George Washington's headquarters twice during the American Revolutionary War. The mansion was constructed around 1770, and has been county owned since 1930. NJ Transit Bus Route 197 provides service to this park.

The Dey Mansion (pronounced dye), located in modern-day Wayne, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States, and originally known as Bloomsburg Manor, played an integral role in the American Revolutionary War. Built by Col. Theunis Dey in the 1770s, it served as Washington's Headquarters on several occasions. Today, the Dey Mansion is currently open year-round with guided public tours Wednesday through Sunday.

Preakness is an unincorporated community located within Wayne in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.The colt Preakness, for whom the Preakness Stakes Thoroughbred horse race at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland is named, was owned by Milton H. Sanford's Preakness Stables located at the corner of Valley Road and Preakness Avenue. Preakness is the birthplace of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame trainer, Barry Littlefield and his brother Fred Littlefield, a jockey who won the 1888 Preakness Stakes. The name itself was said to have come from the Native American Minisi name Pra-qua-les for "Quail Woods" in the area. An alternative translation derives the name from per-ukunees, which is thought to mean "young buck".

Wayne is a township in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Home to William Paterson University and located less than 20 miles (32 km) from Midtown Manhattan, the township is a bedroom suburb of New York City and regional commercial hub of North Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 54,838, an increase of 121 (+0.2%) from the 2010 census count of 54,717, which in turn reflected an increase of 648 (+1.2%) from the 54,069 counted in the 2000 census.Wayne was formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 12, 1847, from portions of Manchester Township. The community is located 30 minutes northwest of Manhattan. The median income in Packanack Lake was $100,887, and the average income of households with children was $140,869. 95.9% of Packanack area residents are high school graduates while 57.5% are college graduates. 77.4% of residents are married. 41.4% of residents had children. The average age of residents was 40.6 years old.Gatherings and social events are held on both East Beach (on Lake Drive East) and West Beach (on Lake Drive West) which include band concerts, craft shows, and bonfires.

Mountain View was a station on the Boonton Branch of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. Located in the Mountain View section of Wayne Township, New Jersey, the station was at the Parish Drive bridge over the tracks. The station was 20.8 miles (33.5 km) away from its terminus at Hoboken Terminal on the shores of the Hudson River, where connections would be made to New York City via ferry and the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad. The western terminus. Denville, was 12.8 miles (20.6 km) away, where connections with the Morris and Essex Railroad were available. Just west of the station was Mountain View junction, where a connection was made to the Erie Railroad's New York and Greenwood Lake Railway was made.

Mountain View, signed on the platform as Mountain View–Wayne, is a station on the Montclair-Boonton Line of NJ Transit in Wayne, New Jersey. Prior to the Montclair Connection in 2002, the station was served by the Boonton Line. The station is located on Erie Avenue, just off of US 202 and Route 23 in Downtown Wayne. Since January 2008, Mountain View station is the second of two stations in Wayne, the other being the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center, a station off the Westbelt interchange.

The Vivekananda Vidyapith Academy of Indian Philosophy and Culture is a school in Wayne, New Jersey. It is a non-profitable organization created in 1976 that teaches Sanskrit; Indian & Hindu Philosophy; teaches the life of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda; and more to grades Kindergarten to 12. Vivekananda Vidyapith takes its philosophical inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, a nineteenth and early twentieth-century teacher and explorer of Vedanta, or Indian philosophy. The Vidyapith’s closest sister organization is the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in New York City.
