The community is located 30 minutes northwest of Manhattan. The median income in Packanack Lake was $100,887, and the average income of households with children was $140,869. 95.9% of Packanack area residents are high school graduates while 57.5% are college graduates. 77.4% of residents are married. 41.4% of residents had children. The average age of residents was 40.6 years old.Gatherings and social events are held on both East Beach (on Lake Drive East) and West Beach (on Lake Drive West) which include band concerts, craft shows, and bonfires.

The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues W-League and United Women's Soccer. The team's home field was on the grounds of DePaul Catholic High School. They played their last season in 2016 as the TSF Academy Valkyries,

The Vivekananda Vidyapith Academy of Indian Philosophy and Culture is a school in Wayne, New Jersey. It is a non-profitable organization created in 1976 that teaches Sanskrit; Indian & Hindu Philosophy; teaches the life of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda; and more to grades Kindergarten to 12. Vivekananda Vidyapith takes its philosophical inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, a nineteenth and early twentieth-century teacher and explorer of Vedanta, or Indian philosophy. The Vidyapith’s closest sister organization is the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in New York City.

Preakness is an unincorporated community located within Wayne in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.The colt Preakness, for whom the Preakness Stakes Thoroughbred horse race at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland is named, was owned by Milton H. Sanford's Preakness Stables located at the corner of Valley Road and Preakness Avenue. Preakness is the birthplace of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame trainer, Barry Littlefield and his brother Fred Littlefield, a jockey who won the 1888 Preakness Stakes. The name itself was said to have come from the Native American Minisi name Pra-qua-les for "Quail Woods" in the area. An alternative translation derives the name from per-ukunees, which is thought to mean "young buck".

The Ice Vault Arena (formerly named Capital One Ice Vault Arena and North Fork Ice Vault Arena) is a 600-seat multi-purpose arena in Wayne, New Jersey. Built in 2003, it is home to the Jersey Hitmen of the United States Premier Hockey League and the William Paterson University Pioneers of the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Super East Collegiate Hockey League. In the fall of 2011, it became home to the New Jersey Outlaws of the Federal Hockey League for one season, before the team moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.Public skating, and stick and puck hours of operation vary based upon events scheduled. The arena also has a cafe, pro shop, and a pub called, "In The Crease Sports Pub". It formerly had an arcade. By the mid-2010s, Capital One bought the naming rights of the arena, making it Capital One Ice Vault Arena.

Point View Dam (National ID # NJ00236) is a dam in Wayne, Passaic County, New Jersey. The earthen gravity dam was constructed in 1964 to impound the water of Haycock Brook for municipal drinking water. It is 55 feet high with a length of 1100 feet at its crest. Both dam and reservoir are owned and operated by the Passaic Valley Water Commission, and stands as the largest of the Commission's four reservoirs. In 2009 it was slated for a state-funded restoration costing several million dollars.The reservoir it creates, Point View Reservoir, has a water surface area of 465 acres, a maximum capacity of 10,450 acre-feet, and a normal capacity of 8590 acre-feet. Fishing requires a permit from the Passaic Valley Water Commission.

It was named in May 2001 as the "Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business" in honor of Dr. Christos M. Cotsakos, former E*TRADE CEO and alumnus.
