The Ice Vault Arena (formerly named Capital One Ice Vault Arena and North Fork Ice Vault Arena) is a 600-seat multi-purpose arena in Wayne, New Jersey. Built in 2003, it is home to the Jersey Hitmen of the United States Premier Hockey League and the William Paterson University Pioneers of the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Super East Collegiate Hockey League. In the fall of 2011, it became home to the New Jersey Outlaws of the Federal Hockey League for one season, before the team moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.Public skating, and stick and puck hours of operation vary based upon events scheduled. The arena also has a cafe, pro shop, and a pub called, "In The Crease Sports Pub". It formerly had an arcade. By the mid-2010s, Capital One bought the naming rights of the arena, making it Capital One Ice Vault Arena.

The Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business is the business school of William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, United States. The college is accredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). It is one of 14 business schools in New Jersey that are accredited. The college has six academic departments - Accounting, Finance, Professional Sales, Management, Marketing, and Global Business.The college has received accreditation from AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of 500 business schools worldwide that are accredited by AACSB International. The E*TRADE Financial Learning Center, one of the few trading rooms found in an academic environment, is the hub of all electronic business information exchange and analysis for the college. The college is housed in the 1600 Valley Road building. Seminars and forums, such as the Business Leaders’ Symposium, the Finance Symposium, and the Enterprise Case Study Competition are held there. It was named in May 2001 as the "Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business" in honor of Dr. Christos M. Cotsakos, former E*TRADE CEO and alumnus.

Preakness is an unincorporated community located within Wayne in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.The colt Preakness, for whom the Preakness Stakes Thoroughbred horse race at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland is named, was owned by Milton H. Sanford's Preakness Stables located at the corner of Valley Road and Preakness Avenue. Preakness is the birthplace of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame trainer, Barry Littlefield and his brother Fred Littlefield, a jockey who won the 1888 Preakness Stakes. The name itself was said to have come from the Native American Minisi name Pra-qua-les for "Quail Woods" in the area. An alternative translation derives the name from per-ukunees, which is thought to mean "young buck".

Preakness Stud was the Thoroughbred horse racing and breeding operation established by Medway, Massachusetts businessman Milton H. Sanford in the Preakness section of Wayne, New Jersey at what today is the corner of Valley Road and Preakness Avenue.Milton Sanford named one of his horses Preakness who won the first running of the Dinner Party Stakes and for whom the Preakness Stakes is named.

North Jersey Valkyries was an American women’s soccer team, founded in 2009 based in Wayne, New Jersey, United States. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues W-League and United Women's Soccer. The team's home field was on the grounds of DePaul Catholic High School. They played their last season in 2016 as the TSF Academy Valkyries,

William Paterson University, officially William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ), is a public university in Wayne, New Jersey. It is part of New Jersey's public system of higher education. Founded in 1855 and was named after American judge William Paterson, William Paterson is the third-oldest public institution in New Jersey. William Paterson offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees through its five academic colleges. During the fall 2021 semester, 5,838 undergraduate students and 3,100 graduate students were enrolled.

Wayne Hills High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school, in Wayne, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, in the New York metropolitan area. The school serves students in ninth through twelfth grades as one of the two secondary schools that are part of the Wayne Public Schools, the other being Wayne Valley High School. As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,182 students and 121.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.7:1. Passaic County Technical Institute (also known as PCTI, Passaic County Tech, Wayne Tech or simply Tech), is a vocational public high school in Wayne, that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from all of Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is located near the city of Paterson. PCTI offers some vocational classes in addition to several college credit courses. As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 3,359 students and 286.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.7:1. There were 1,598 students (47.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 320 (9.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. Ailsa Farms, also known as Haledon Hall and Hobart Manor, is a historic house located at 300 Pompton Road in the township of Wayne in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. It was purchased by the state of New Jersey in 1948 from the family of Garret Hobart, 24th vice president of the United States and is now located on the campus of William Paterson University. Ailsa Farms was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1976, for its significance in architecture, politics, and social history.
