Hopperton railway station

Hopperton is a village in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton parish. The village is situated close to the A59, the A1(M) and the A168. Cattal railway station is situated just under two miles from the village with services to Leeds, York and Harrogate. Until 1958, Hopperton had its own railway station next to a level crossing on the original A1 Great North Road. The village had one pub, the Mason Arms, which closed in 2020 and is now a dwelling house . The nearest towns are Knaresborough 4 miles (6.4 km) to the west, and across the county border in West Yorkshire, Wetherby 5 miles (8 km) to the south west. The latter offers the closest large supermarket to Hopperton. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Borough of Harrogate, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council.

Walshford is a hamlet in the civil parish of Great Ribston with Walshford, in the Harrogate district, in the county of North Yorkshire, England. The hamlet is 3 miles (5 km) north of Wetherby, 5 miles (8 km) north-east of Knaresborough, and 9 miles (14 km) south of Boroughbridge.

Crimple Beck or the River Crimple is a beck which flows through North Yorkshire, England. It is a tributary of the River Nidd which it joins between Little Ribston and Walshford north of Wetherby. The beck is 15.5 miles (24.9 km) long, and has a total catchment area of 80 square kilometres (31 sq mi), which drains the area around Harrogate. Its tributaries include the Park Beck.

Coneythorpe is a village in North Yorkshire, England. It is in the Harrogate district, and situated less than 1 mile (1.6 km) west from the A1(M) motorway.

Flaxby is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is close to the A1(M) motorway and 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Knaresborough. Flaxby was once part of the wapentake of Claro. It is also part of the ecclesiastical parish of Goldsborough (St Mary).In 1994, an Early Iron Age farmstead of the 7th–6th centuries BC was discovered by archaeologists, but the site was abandoned until the late Roman period.Proposals have been put forward to develop the land to the east of Flaxby, north of the A59 road and west of the A1(M) motorway into a new town called Flaxby Park. The developers have announced their intention to build 2,500 - 3,000 homes on 440 acres (180 ha) of land that would also see a primary school, a medical centre, leisure facilities and numerous shops and bars. The development would also include a bus park and ride system with the possibility of a new railway station on the York to Harrogate line. A railway station has already been proposed at Flaxby Moor (south of the A59) but in 2014, a feasibility study of new stations predicted a low demand of passenger numbers from a new station on the line.

St John the Baptist's Church is the parish church of Hunsingore, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. There was a church in Hunsingore from the mediaeval period, which in 1848 was described as "an ancient structure, with a tower". By 1867, it was in poor condition, so it was demolished, and a new church constructed on the same site. It was commissioned by John Dent, and designed by Charles Kirk. It is in the Geometric Gothic style, and was completed in 1868. The building was grade II listed in 1985. The church is built of pink sandstone with a Westmorland slate roof. It consists of a nave, north and south aisles, a south porch, a chancel with a polygonal apse, and a west steeple. The steeple has a three-stage tower and a broach spire with lucarnes. The porch has two carved faces at the ends of its hood mould, which may represent Victoria of Great Britain and John Dent. The door has decorative wrought iron hinges. Inside, original fittings include the font, pulpit, organ, reredos and lighting. The windows are of two or three lights and have tracery, the west end having stained glass by Franz Mayer of Munich, while the east end has glass by Ward and Hughes.

Hunsingore is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated near the River Nidd and the A1(M) motorway, about 14 miles (23 km) west of York, and 4 miles (6.4 km) north east of Wetherby.

Goldsborough railway station served the village of Goldsborough, North Yorkshire, England from 1850 to 1965 on the Harrogate line. The station was over 13 miles (21 km) west of York railway station, and nearly 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Knaresborough. The site of the station has been bought by a development company, with a view to reopening as Flaxby Parkway.

Allerton waste recovery park is a waste recovery and incineration site located on a former quarry at Allerton Mauleverer, near Knaresborough, England. It is operated by AmeyCespa on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council, the site is capable of handling 320,000 tonnes (350,000 tons) of household waste per year. The site is expected to cost £1.4 billion over 25 years, but is estimated it that the cost of not incinerating over the same time period would be £1.7 billion in landfill and other costs. Despite being labelled as just an incinerator, it also recycles and uses biodegradable waste to generate biogas, which is why it is known as a waste recovery park. The site is just off the A168, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Knaresborough and 7 miles (11 km) north of Wetherby.

The Old Corn Mill is a historic building in Hunsingore, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The watermill lies on the north bank of the River Nidd and it was completed in 1809. It was used to grind corn, and had a breastshot water wheel. It was converted into a house in 1975, and the building was grade II listed in 1985. The mill is built of limestone and gritstone, and has a Westmorland slate roof with shaped kneelers and gable coping. There are two storeys and an attic, and fronts of three and four bays. The north front is gabled, and contains a doorway and square windows. In the gable is a circular window with a datestone above. At the rear is the entrance to the wheelhouse, and on the right return are external steps to a doorway. Inside, the main roof timbers are visible, and the wheel shaft survives.

St Michael's Church is a redundant church in the village of Cowthorpe, North Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Cowthorpe is a village in the civil parish of Tockwith, in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Wetherby, 10 miles (16 km) east of Harrogate, 7 miles (11 km) from Knaresborough and 13.5 miles (21.7 km) from York.In 1931 the parish had a population of 103. On 1 April 1937 the parish was abolished and merged with Tockwith. From 1974 to 2023 it was in the Harrogate district.
