Allerton Mauleverer Priory was a medieval monastic house in North Yorkshire, England. The site is in Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton Parish in the former Harrogate District of North Yorkshire. Richard Mauleverer founded the priory c. 1100 in the Benedictine order and granted them tithes and lands. The site was granted to the Abbey of Marmoutier in Normandy in 1110 which made it an alien priory.

Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton is a civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 150, an increase from 130 at the 2001 Census. As its name suggests, the parish includes the villages of Allerton Mauleverer and Hopperton. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Selby District, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council. It is in the ecclesiastical parish of Whixley with Green Hammerton, in the Diocese of Leeds.

Hopperton is a village in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton parish. The village is situated close to the A59, the A1(M) and the A168. Cattal railway station is situated just under two miles from the village with services to Leeds, York and Harrogate. Until 1958, Hopperton had its own railway station next to a level crossing on the original A1 Great North Road. The village had one pub, the Mason Arms, which closed in 2020 and is now a dwelling house . The nearest towns are Knaresborough 4 miles (6.4 km) to the west, and across the county border in West Yorkshire, Wetherby 5 miles (8 km) to the south west. The latter offers the closest large supermarket to Hopperton. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Borough of Harrogate, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council.

St Martin's Church is a historic Anglican church in the village of Allerton Mauleverer, North Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. It is sited just outside Allerton Park, the grounds of Allerton Castle, which has been the home of the Mauleverer family for nearly 700 years. The A1(M) runs through the area connecting London and Edinburgh. From 1947 to 1998, Allerton Mauleverer was part of the Claro Registration District, until it was abolished. Until 1974 it was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Borough of Harrogate, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council. In the 1870s, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Allerton Mauleverer as "a township and a parish in Knaresborough district, W. R. Yorkshire. The township includes Hopperton; and lies on an affluent of the Nidd, at the Allerton r. station, 4+1⁄2 miles [7 km] ENE of Knaresborough." The name Allerton Mauleverer originally meant "Aelfweard's farm/settlement". Referring to farm held by the Mauleverer family in the 12th century.

Allerton Castle, also known as Allerton Park, is a Grade I listed nineteenth-century Gothic or Victorian Gothic house at Allerton Mauleverer in North Yorkshire, England. It was rebuilt by architect George Martin, of Baker Street, London in 1843–1853. It is ten miles (16 km) east of Harrogate and just east of the A1(M), at its junction with the A59 York-Knaresborough road and a late 20th-century block used for education and corporate functions. Outside is St Martin's Church, Allerton Mauleverer.

Whixley Hall is a historic building on West Lane in Whixley, a village in North Yorkshire, England. The house may have been built in 1654; there is a datestone with this date, but it has been moved. Christopher Tancred died in 1754, and under the terms of his will, the building was converted into an almshouse for 12 elderly men. This operated until the mid-19th century. In 1907, Walter Brierley rebuilt the central section of the south front, in a similar style to its original form. The building was Grade II listed in 1952. By 2025, it was a private house with six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and 54 acres (22 ha) of grounds. The house is built of red brick on a stone-capped plinth, with a modillion eaves cornice, and a hipped stone slate roof. There are two storeys and a H-shaped plan, with the courtyard at the rear. The main range has seven bays, the outer two bays at each end projecting slightly behind which are rear wings. In the centre of the main range is a doorway with a moulded surround, and a broken segmental pediment with a vase on consoles. The windows are cross windows under flat brick arches. At the rear some windows are mullioned, there is a large staircase window, and two re-set datestones. Inside, there is an early staircase in the east range.

The Church of the Ascension is an Anglican church in the village of Whixley, North Yorkshire, England. Whilst the Domesday Book entry for Whixley mentions the presence of a church, the main fabric of the existing church dates to the 14th century. Up until it was renovated in the 19th century, it was dedicated to St James, but was rededicated as the Church of the Ascension, and it is now a grade II* listed building. Nikolaus Pevsner notes that it is unusual for a village church to be composed of mostly the same style of architecture (Decorated).

Hopperton railway station served the village of Hopperton, North Yorkshire, England from 1848 to 1962 on the Harrogate line.

Whixley is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is near the A1(M) motorway and 10 miles (16 km) west of York. The ancient village of Whixley lies on Rudgate, the old Roman road along which the Roman “Hispania” Legion would have marched to nearby Isurium (Aldborough).

Cattal is a railway station on the Harrogate Line, which runs between Leeds and York via Harrogate. The station, situated 10+1⁄2 miles (17 km) west of York, serves the village of Cattal, Borough of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains. Cattal is at the western end of a dual track section from Hammerton. Trains heading east towards York are timetabled to arrive first on the dual track section, in order to clear the single-track line heading west towards Harrogate. The level crossing here still has manually-operated metal gates and a ground-level signal box. The station buildings are now privately owned. In 2022-2023 the most popular origin/destination station from Cattal was York with 24,076 journeys to/from York (37.4% of all journeys).

Allerton waste recovery park is a waste recovery and incineration site located on a former quarry at Allerton Mauleverer, near Knaresborough, England. It is operated by AmeyCespa on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council, the site is capable of handling 320,000 tonnes (350,000 tons) of household waste per year. The site is expected to cost £1.4 billion over 25 years, but is estimated it that the cost of not incinerating over the same time period would be £1.7 billion in landfill and other costs. Despite being labelled as just an incinerator, it also recycles and uses biodegradable waste to generate biogas, which is why it is known as a waste recovery park. The site is just off the A168, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Knaresborough and 7 miles (11 km) north of Wetherby.
