Walshford

Crimple Beck or the River Crimple is a beck which flows through North Yorkshire, England. It is a tributary of the River Nidd which it joins between Little Ribston and Walshford north of Wetherby. The beck is 15.5 miles (24.9 km) long, and has a total catchment area of 80 square kilometres (31 sq mi), which drains the area around Harrogate. Its tributaries include the Park Beck.

St Michael's Church is a redundant church in the village of Cowthorpe, North Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Cowthorpe is a village in the civil parish of Tockwith, in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Wetherby, 10 miles (16 km) east of Harrogate, 7 miles (11 km) from Knaresborough and 13.5 miles (21.7 km) from York.In 1931 the parish had a population of 103. On 1 April 1937 the parish was abolished and merged with Tockwith. From 1974 to 2023 it was in the Harrogate district.

Hunsingore is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated near the River Nidd and the A1(M) motorway, about 14 miles (23 km) west of York, and 4 miles (6.4 km) north east of Wetherby.

Ingmanthorpe is a hamlet close to the village of Kirk Deighton in North Yorkshire, England, the village is situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the town of Wetherby in neighbouring West Yorkshire. Ingmanthorpe is situated close to the A1(M) and Wetherby Service Station. Grand National winning jockey, Richard Guest, trained racehorses at Ingmanthorpe Racing Stables until his eviction in May 2021. Ingmanthorpe Hall was home to Wennington School from 1945 to 1975, and was designated a Grade II listed building in 1966.

Wetherby Services is a motorway service area north of Wetherby on the A1(M) motorway in northern England. It opened in September 2008, and the hotel (a 126-bed Days Inn hotel, the first major hotel in the north of the town) opened later. The service station is situated at junction 46 of the A1(M), the interchange between the A1(M) and the B1224. The service area is accessed from a roundabout, making it accessible from both sides of the motorway. It lies just inside North Yorkshire in the parish of Kirk Deighton, although the town of Wetherby is on the West Yorkshire side of the boundary. It is operated by Moto Hospitality. The next services in each direction are at Leeming Bar (north) and Ferrybridge (south).The service station uses the latest 'green technologies' in its construction and running, making it the UK's first carbon neutral service station. In a 2018 user survey of England's motorway service areas (MSAs), Wetherby scored a 99% satisfaction rating, putting it third in the country and the top Moto site overall. In 2017, Wetherby MSA was awarded an 84% approval rating.

Ribston Hall is a privately owned 17th-century country mansion situated on the banks of the River Nidd, at Great Ribston, near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade II* listed building.The two-storey mansion presents an impressive fifteen-bay entrance front to the north east. The adjoining chapel is said to contain traces of 13th-century masonry.

Ribston Preceptory was a priory just east of the village of Little Ribston, in North Yorkshire, England on the east bank of the River Nidd. The preceptory at Ribston was founded in 1217, when Robert de Ros donated the land and advowson of Ribston to the Knights Templar.When the Knights Templar were suppressed between 1308 and 1312, the preceptory at Ribston was granted to the Knights Hospitaller. They held it until the Dissolution in 1540, but by this point they had mostly abandoned it and it was being worked by Lay farmers.In 1674, the now grade II* listed Ribston Hall was erected on the site, however a 13th-century chapel which adjoins the hall survives.

All Saints Church is an Anglican church in the parish of Spofforth and Kirk Deighton in North Yorkshire, England. The church dates from the 11th century and is Grade I listed.

Kirk Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated north-west of Wetherby, to which it is contiguous, and near the A1(M). The village was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, and Wetherby Rural District, until 1974, and is now on the border between West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire: the village is in North Yorkshire, and Wetherby in the Leeds metropolitan district of West Yorkshire. Kirk Deighton has a population of less than 500 people, measured at 484 in the 2011 Census.

North Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. Until 1866, when it became its own parish, the village was part of the parish of Kirk Deighton. The population of the civil parish as taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100. Details are included in the civil parish of Little Ribston, however, North Yorkshire County Council estimated the population in 2014 as having dropped to 80.It is near the A1(M) motorway and the A168 road and is 1.9 miles (3 km) north-west of Wetherby. The B6164 road runs through the village between Knaresborough and Wetherby with a minor road heading south-west towards Spofforth.Along with neighbouring Kirk Deighton, the village is mentioned in the Domesday Book and its name derives from a mixture of Old English and Old Norse - Kirkja dīc tūn which means a church, a defensive trench or ditch and a farmstead or village.To the east of the village is Howe Hill, which is a former Motte-and-bailey castle from around the time of the Norman Conquest. It is also thought to be one of the burial sites of dead soldiers from the Battle of Marston Moor. The area was formerly part of the Royal Forest of Knaresborough (a medieval hunting park) and also part of the Ribston Estate.
