Birkenes Church

Mollestad is a village in Birkenes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on both sides of the river Tovdalselva, just south of the municipal centre of Birkeland. The Birkenes Church is located in eastern Mollestad (Østre Mollestad). The Norwegian National Road 41 runs through the village. The village of Rugsland lies to the south, Svaland lies to the west, and Tveide lies to the east.

The Mollestad Oak (in Norwegian: Mollestadeika or Vetteika) is a monumental, legendary oak near the Norwegian village of Mollestad in the municipality of Birkenes, Norway. The oak has a circumference of 9.21 metres (30.2 ft), measured in 2001, and a height of around 13 metres (43 ft), which makes the Mollestad Oak one of the largest trees in Norway. Estimates of the age are between 450 and 550 years, but there are also outliers to around 1000 years. The oak is traditionally a knot oak and the trunk extends to a height of four meters. The oak is located on a field. Rugsland is a village in Birkenes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the river Tovdalselva, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of the village of Mollestad. The village of Svaland lies about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) to the northwest.

Tveide is a village in Birkenes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of the municipal centre of Birkeland. Historically, there was a railway station here along the now-closed Lillesand-Flaksvand Line.

Svaland is a village in Birkenes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located in a very rural area about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southwest of the village of Birkeland and about the same distance northeast of the village of Vennesla. A very popular activity in Svaland is to hunt.

Tveit Church (Norwegian: Tveit kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located on the banks of the Tovdalselva, just outside the village of Ryen in the district of Tveit in the borough of Oddernes in the northeastern part of the city of Kristiansand. It is the church for the Tveit parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built in a long church design around the year 1150 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 350 people. The church is surrounded by a cemetery. The historic structure is protected by law.

Tveit is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The 107-square-kilometre (41 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. The municipality was located in the eastern part of the present-day municipality of Kristiansand along the river Topdalselva. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Tveit where Tveit Church is located.

The stone church was built in the 12th century, and it is the oldest building in the village. Brattvollsheia is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Oddernes in the district of Tveit. Brattvollsheia is immediately north of Kjevik Airport.

Cardamom Town (Norwegian: Kardemomme by) is a theme park located within the Kristiansand Zoo in Kristiansand, Norway, based on the popular Norwegian children's book When the Robbers Came to Cardamom Town by Norwegian children’s book author Thorbjørn Egner.The theme park, which opened in 1991, was made to look exactly like it looks in the original illustrations in the book. Thorbjørn Egner got to see the theme park while it was under construction, but did not live long enough to see it completed. The theme park comprises 33 houses, eight of which are rental properties. During the summer actors in the park portray the residents of the fictional town. In addition the visitors of the theme park can see the different main characters in the book: Commissioner Bastian and Aunt Sophie, as well as the three robbers, Kasper, Jesper and Jonathan. The theme park has a working tram made to look like the one in the book and is operated by an actor who portrays the character of tram conductor Syversen. The theme park also has a functioning post office, which uses the postal code "4609 Cardamom Town".
