The Fukuoka Municipal Zoo and Botanical Garden (福岡市動植物園, Fukuoka-shi Dōshokubutsuen), also known as the Fukuoka City Zoological Garden, is a zoo and botanical garden established in 1953 and located within Minami-koen (En: "South park") at 1-1, Minami-Koen, Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan. The garden contains about 1,300 types of outdoor garden plants, mostly common. Its greenhouse contains over 1,200 plant species including orchids, ferns, and cacti.

Sophia Fukuoka Junior and Senior High School (上智福岡中学高等学校, Jōchi Fukuoka chūgaku kōtō gakkō) is located in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka. Founded by the Catholic diocese as a seminary school in 1932 and undergoing several name changes, it has been managed by the Jesuits since 1983. It took its present name in 2010 when it became affiliated with Sophia University.

Fukuoka Kyuden Kinen Gymnasium (福岡市九電記念体育館, Fukuoka-shi Kyūden Kinen Taiikukan) is a sports and entertainment facility in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. The building was opened by Kyushu Electric Power in 1964, and transferred to the city of Fukuoka in 2003, with the land loaned at no cost. It has a seating capacity of 1,992, with provision for a further 380 standing spectators.In April 2013, Kyushu Electric Power announced that it was planning to sell the site to make up for losses accrued due to the shutdown of its nuclear reactors following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The building will however remain in use until 2019, by which date a new facility is scheduled to be completed in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka.

Sakurazuka Station (桜坂駅) is a subway station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka in Japan. Sakurazuka is literally "cherry blossom slope" in Japanese. So its station symbol is a picture of seven cherry blossom petals in pink is fluttering in the wind.

Yakuin-ōdōri Station (薬院大通駅, Yakuin-ōdōri-eki) is a train station located in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka. This station's symbol mark is an elephant's head and a flower because it's near the Zoo and Botanical Garden.

Fukuoka-Kitakyushu Greater Metropolitan Region (福岡・北九州大都市圏, Fukuoka Kitakyūshū Daitoshiken) is the most common name given to the region comprising the metropolitan areas of the cities of Fukuoka and Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan and in between. Alternate names are many, including Kitakyushu-Fukuoka Greater Metropolitan Region (北九州・福岡大都市圏), Northern Part of Kyushu Greater Metropolitan Region (北部九州大都市圏)One reason for complications in naming is because the whole region itself was once referred to as "Kitakyushu", which had become ambiguous after the city merger in 1963 which created the city by the same name. These cities may be referred to separately, but often are lumped together since they are close and lie in the same prefecture. Furthermore, their economic spheres, infrastructure, and transport links overlap. Note that the metro areas include the tip of Honshu island (Shimonoseki on Honshu is a significant suburb of Kitakyushu), as well as the northern part of Kyushu. The definition of Northern Kyushu is not a superset of Fukuoka–Kitakyushu; among the ways it differs: it generally does not include any cities on Honshu island.

The Seinan Gakuin University Biblical Botanical Garden (西南学院大学聖書植物園, Seinan Gakuin Daigaku Seisho Shokubutsuen) is a Biblical garden, one of a number botanical gardens located across the campus of Seinan Gakuin University, Nishijin 6-2-92, Sawara-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan. It is open daily. The garden that contains about 80 plants mentioned in the Bible, with labels in the Hebrew, Greek, Latin, English, and Japanese, as well as a reference to the Biblical passage in which the plant is mentioned.

The Diocese of Fukuoka (Latin: Dioecesis Fukuokaensis, Japanese: カトリック福岡教区) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church located in Fukuoka in the Ecclesiastical province of Nagasaki 長崎 in Japan.

Fukuoka Castle (福岡城, Fukuoka-jō) is a Japanese castle located in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. It is also known as Maizuru Castle (舞鶴城 Maizuru-jō) or Seki Castle (石城 Seki-jō). Completed in the early Edo period for tozama daimyō Kuroda Nagamasa, it has been decreed a historic site by the Japanese government. The castle lies in the centre of Fukuoka, on top of Fukusaki hill. The Naka River (那珂), Naka-gawa in Japanese, acts as a natural moat on the eastern side of the castle, while the western side uses a mudflat as a natural moat. Hakata, a ward with a bustling port, is located on the opposite side of the Naka River to the east. The castle town was established on the northern side, facing the sea. Much of the castle grounds has been converted to Maizuru Park, which houses several sports facilities, a courthouse, and an art museum. Heiwadai Baseball Stadium, the past home field of the Nishitetsu Lions and the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks, was also located on the castle grounds. Some of the castle's gates as well as its towers and turrets, known as yaguras, are preserved inside the park, one of which has been marked as an important historical artifact by the Japanese government. The remnants of a korokan (鴻臚館), an ancient guest house for foreign diplomats, were discovered under the castle grounds in 1987, showing that the castle was a vital geographical checkpoint even into the Heian period. This is the only korokan remnant found in all of Japan.

Nishitetsu Hirao Station (西鉄平尾駅, Nishitetsu Hirao eki) is a train station located in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka.

The kōrokan (鴻臚館, こうろかん) were guest houses for foreign ambassadors, traveling monks, and merchants that existed in Japan during the Heian period and earlier. These guest houses existed in Kyoto, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Only the location of the kōrokan in Fukuoka is known with precision today; its ruins were discovered on the grounds of Maizuru Castle Park in 1987. The word kōrokan (鴻臚館) was coined in the Heian period by using the first two characters from the Chinese name 鴻臚寺 for Han dynasty and Qi dynasty temples charged with the responsibility of hosting foreign dignitaries. Though the word is Heian in origin, the kōrokan in Fukuoka and Osaka were already in use in the Asuka period.
