Stanford University Medical Center

Stanford University School of Medicine is the medical school of Stanford University and is located in Stanford, California. It traces its roots to the Medical Department of the University of the Pacific, founded in San Francisco in 1858. This medical institution, then called Cooper Medical College, was acquired by Stanford in 1908. The medical school moved to the Stanford campus near Palo Alto, California, in 1959. The School of Medicine, along with Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, is part of Stanford Medicine. Stanford Health Care was ranked the fourth best hospital in California (behind UCLA Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and UCSF Medical Center, respectively).

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) is a nationally ranked women's and children's hospital which is part of the Stanford University Health system. The hospital is located adjacent to the campus at 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto, California. It was founded in 1991 and is staffed by over 650 physicians with 4,750 staff and volunteers. The hospital specializes in the care of infants, children, teens, young adults aged 0–21, but sometimes treats older adults and expectant mothers. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is an ACS verified Level 1 regional pediatric trauma center, 1 of 7 in the state.In November 2018, Paul King was appointed president and chief executive officer. King succeeds Christopher Dawes, who retired from the position in August 2018.

The Beckman Center for Molecular and Genetic Medicine is an interdisciplinary center, part of Stanford School of Medicine at Stanford University, Stanford, California. Considered a "unique facility", it was one of the first research centers to take a translational medicine approach to molecular and medical genetics.

The James H. Clark Center (also abbreviated to the Clark Center) at Stanford University, California, United States, is a building, completed in 2003, that houses interdisciplinary research in the biological sciences.

The Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University, formerly the Stanford University Museum of Art, and commonly known as the Cantor Arts Center, is an art museum on the campus of Stanford University in Stanford, California. The museum first opened in 1894 and consists of over 130,000 sq ft (12,000 m2) of exhibition space, including sculpture gardens. The Cantor Arts Center houses the largest collection of sculptures by Auguste Rodin outside of Paris, with 199 works, most in bronze but others in different media. The museum is open to the public and charges no admission.

The Arizona Cactus Garden, or, officially, Arizona Garden, also known as the Cactus Garden, is a small botanical garden specializing in cactus and succulents. It is located on the campus of Stanford University (within the Stanford University Arboretum, and near the Stanford Family Mausoleum and the Angel of Grief), Stanford, California, USA, and open to the public daily without charge.

The Computer Science Department at Stanford University in Stanford, California, is a leading school for computer science. It was founded in 1965 and has consistently been ranked as one of the top computer science programs in the world. Its location in Silicon Valley makes it unique among computer science programs.

The Gates Computer Science Building, or Gates building for short, is an L-shaped building that houses the Computer Science Department as well as the Computer Systems Laboratory at 353 Jane Stanford Way, Stanford University, California. Construction on the building began in 1994 and was completed in 1996 at a cost of $36 million. It was named after Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who donated $6 million for the building's construction.The building is organized into an A wing (the western ell) and a B wing (the northern ell). It is secured by an Intellikey system. Blueprints of the building are available online. The building was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects of New York City.

Knowledge Systems Laboratory (KSL) was an artificial intelligence research laboratory within the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University until 2007, located in the Gates Computer Science Building, Stanford. Work focused on knowledge representation for shareable engineering knowledge bases and systems, computational environments for modelling physical devices, architectures for adaptive intelligent systems, and expert systems for science and engineering. KSL had projects with Stanford Medical Informatics (SMI), the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab (SAIL), the Stanford Formal Reasoning Group (SFRG), the Stanford Logic Group, and the Stanford Center for Design Research (CDR).

The William R. Hewlett Teaching Center is a building at Stanford University in California, United States named for William R. Hewlett, co-founder of Hewlett-Packard. Located west of the main quad, the Hewlett building was built by project architect James Ingo Freed and landscape architect Laurie Olin in 1999. Hewlett, along with the Packard Building, Sequoia Hall, and McCullough Annex (renamed Moore Materials Research), were all built as a part of a project to create a new Science and Engineering Quad. The building was formerly known as the Teaching Center at the Science and Engineering Quad (TCSEQ). The project was funded primarily by Hewlett and David Packard, who donated $77.4 million in 1994. It houses two large auditoriums and teaching halls, often used for teaching introductory courses in the sciences or for lecture series.

The Stanford Mausoleum, located in the Northwest of the Stanford University campus in the Stanford University Arboretum, holds the remains of the university's namesake Leland Stanford, Jr. and his parents Leland and Jane Stanford. Once per year, the mausoleum is opened to the public and a wreath laid (usually in October during the reunion weekend) as part of the annual Founders' Day activities.
