Ehrang station

The Kyll (German pronunciation: [ˈkɪl]), noted by the Roman poet Ausonius as Celbis, is a 128-kilometre-long (80 mi) river in western Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate), left tributary of the Moselle. It rises in the Eifel mountains, near the border with Belgium and flows generally south through the towns Stadtkyll, Gerolstein, Kyllburg and east of Bitburg. It flows into the Moselle in Ehrang, a suburb of Trier.

The Ruwer is a river in Germany with a length of 46 kilometres (29 mi). It is a right tributary of the Moselle. The valley of the Ruwer is a part of the Moselle wine-growing region near Trier in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is famous for its Riesling wines, see Ruwer (region), and, prior to 1 August 2007, the Moselle region used to be known as Moselle-Saar-Ruwer. In the lower Ruwer valley are the villages of Waldrach, Kasel, Mertesdorf, Eitelsbach and Ruwer.

The Ruwer-Hochwald-Radweg is a cyclable trail. It is for bicycles. It links the Moselle-valley and the Hunsrück from Trier to Hermeskeil in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Lohrbach is a river of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The Lohrbach springs west of Kordel. It discharges south of Kordel, west of Ramstein Castle from the left into the Kyll.

Ruwer/Eitelsbach is a quarter of Trier, Germany. Eitelsbach was a small village at the Ruwer (river) in Germany's Mosel region and famous for the wine estate Karthäuserhof and the associated vineyard Karthäuserhofberg, which means "Carthusians' Hill". The wines are labeled "Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberger." Eitelsbach and Ruwer were added to Trier in 1969. They formed the Trier district of Ruwer/Eitelsbach in 1974.Now known in history.

Kenn is a municipality situated in the western region of Rhineland-Palatinate, near the border with Luxembourg. It is characterized by its encompassing red sandstone hills adorned with vineyards and located within the Moselle wine region. Administratively, Kenn falls under the jurisdiction of the Verbandsgemeinde Schweich an der Römischen Weinstraße in the Trier-Saarburg district.

Trier Arena is an indoor sporting arena located in Trier, Germany. The capacity of the arena is 5,495 people. It is currently home to the TBB Trier basketball team.

The ruins of Ramstein Castle (German: Burg Ramstein) stand on a 182-metre-high, Bunter sandstone rock on the edge of the Meulenwald forest in the lower, steep-sided Kyll valley near Kordel in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It stands 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north of Trier and the same east of Luxembourg. The hill castle was built in the early 14th century by the Archbishop of Trier, Diether of Nassau as the successor to a fortified manor farm. From then on, it was a fief castle of the Electorate of Trier which was enfeoffed (subleased) to electoral subjects and cathedral deans. During the War of the Palatine Succession, the castle was occupied by French troops and largely blown up in 1689. The great damage was not repaired. However, tall sections of curtain walls, elements of corner towers and almost of all the exterior and the stone staircases of its medieval tower house stand. Three larger-footprint modern buildings including a hotel-restaurant are on the southern part of the east-facing promontory. The hotel's outdoor terrace overlooks the lightly or densely wooded valley, depending on direction views. Fields have likely long stood next to the near-bend of the river enabling a clear view to the impassably sheer hillside (on horseback) on the opposite bank and intervening north–south route.

Karthäuserhof is the oldest winery in Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany founded in 1335, when elector of Trier gave vineyards to Carthusians monks, after them is the winery name. The only source of the fruit for winery is the local Karthäuserhofberg and vineyard of 19 hectares is planted mainly with Riesling grape.

The Electorate of Trier (German: Kurfürstentum Trier or Kurtrier or Trèves) was an ecclesiastical principality of the Holy Roman Empire that existed from the end of the 9th to the early 19th century. It was the temporal possession of the prince-archbishop of Trier (Erzbistum Trier) who was, ex officio, a prince-elector of the empire. The other ecclesiastical electors were the electors of Cologne and Mainz. The capital of the electorate was Trier; from the 16th century onward, the main residence of the Elector was in Koblenz. The electorate was secularized in 1803 in the course of the German mediatisation. The Elector of Trier, in his capacity as archbishop, also administered the Archdiocese of Trier, whose territory did not correspond to the electorate (see map below).

Saint Paulinus (German: St. Paulinskirche) is a Baroque church in the city of Trier, Germany. Constructed between 1734 and 1753, the interior was designed by Johann Balthasar Neumann. The ceiling of the nave features a painting by the artist Christoph Thomas Scheffler. The tomb of the saint after whom the church is named, Paulinus of Trier, is located in the church's crypt. Based in Germany's oldest city with a significant Roman history, three church buildings have stood on the site since the 4th century.

St. Maximin's Abbey (German: Reichsabtei St. Maximin) was a Benedictine monastery in Trier in the Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
