The Ruwer-Hochwald-Radweg is a cyclable trail. It is for bicycles. It links the Moselle-valley and the Hunsrück from Trier to Hermeskeil in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Karthäuserhof is the oldest winery in Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany founded in 1335, when elector of Trier gave vineyards to Carthusians monks, after them is the winery name. The only source of the fruit for winery is the local Karthäuserhofberg and vineyard of 19 hectares is planted mainly with Riesling grape.

The Ruwer is a river in Germany with a length of 46 kilometres (29 mi). It is a right tributary of the Moselle. The valley of the Ruwer is a part of the Moselle wine-growing region near Trier in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is famous for its Riesling wines, see Ruwer (region), and, prior to 1 August 2007, the Moselle region used to be known as Moselle-Saar-Ruwer. In the lower Ruwer valley are the villages of Waldrach, Kasel, Mertesdorf, Eitelsbach and Ruwer.

Kenn is a municipality situated in the western region of Rhineland-Palatinate, near the border with Luxembourg. The Kyll (German pronunciation: [ˈkɪl]), noted by the Roman poet Ausonius as Celbis, is a 128-kilometre-long (80 mi) river in western Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate), left tributary of the Moselle. It rises in the Eifel mountains, near the border with Belgium and flows generally south through the towns Stadtkyll, Gerolstein, Kyllburg and east of Bitburg. It flows into the Moselle in Ehrang, a suburb of Trier.

Kasel is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

Ehrang station is, after Trier Hauptbahnhof, the second most important station in the city of Trier in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The station forms a railway junction with a former marshalling yard that is still partly used as a freight yard. At the station, the Eifel Railway from Cologne connects with the Koblenz–Trier railway. Until 1983, Ehrang station was also the starting point of the Trier West Railway to Igel that connected with Wasserbillig / Luxembourg.

Tarforst is a suburban part of the city Trier in Germany with about 7,000 inhabitants. The University of Trier is situated in the suburb. The Romans settled in Tarforst 2,000 years ago. The village became a part of Trier in 1969.

The Trier University (German: Universität Trier), in the German city of Trier, was founded in 1473. Closed in 1798 by order of the then French administration in Trier, the university was re-established in 1970 after a hiatus of some 172 years. The new university campus is located on top of the Tarforst heights, an urban district on the outskirts of the city. The university has six faculties with around 470 faculty members. In 2006 around 14,000 students were matriculated, with 43.5% of the student body male and 56.5% female; the percentage of foreign students was approximately 15.5%.

Ruwer is a Verbandsgemeinde (collective municipality) with 18,171 inhabitants (as at Dec 2015) on the river Ruwer near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is famous for the wine from the Moselle wine-growing region, which used to be called Moselle-Saar-Ruwer, and which was founded by the Romans. The administrative seat used to be located in Ruwer, which was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the city of Trier. The seat has been located in Waldrach since November 2005. Ruwer consists of the following 20 Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"): The Verbandsgemeinde Ruwer is a part of the district Trier-Saarburg.
