Amerikis Square

Patision Street (Greek: Οδός Πατησίων) is one of the major streets in central Athens, Greece. Though it is known as Patision, its name for its stretch between Panepistimiou Street and Amerikis Square, was changed to 28 October Street, commemorating the day in 1940 that the Greek dictator Ioannis Metaxas refused the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's ultimatum that Greece submit to Italian control, thus starting the Greco-Italian War. Patision Street connects the area known as Patisia with Omonoia Square in the center of Athens. It is crowded by bus and trolley bus lines, which connect the city center with Kypseli (trolley lines 2, 4, 9), Lamprini (trolley lines 5, 13, 14), Patisia (trolley line 11), N. Filadelfeia (trolley line 3), Perissos (bus lines 605, 054), Marousi (bus line A8) and Galatsi (bus line 608). It is a southbound one-way route with a northbound bus lane until it meets Marnis street, and it has three lanes per direction until Amerikis Square.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral (Greek: Καθεδρικός και Ενοριακός Ιερός Ελληνόρρυθμος Καθολικός Ναός Αγίας Τριάδος) also called Greek-Catholic Cathedral of Athens is a Greek Byzantine Catholic cathedral in Athens, Greece. It functions as the seat of the Greek Catholic Apostolic Exarchate of Greece (Exarchatus Apostolicus Graeciae) that was created on June 11, 1932 by the then Pope Pius XI, and follows the Byzantine Rite, It is under the pastoral responsibility of Bishop Manuel Nin.

The church of Saint Panteleimon of Acharnai (Greek: Άγιος Παντελεήμων Αχαρνών) is a Greek Orthodox basilica in the center of Athens. It has a maximum length of 63 m and width 48 m and it is the biggest church of Greece. The church is in the downtown of the modern city of Athens, close to the high-traffic Acharnon Avenue. The foundations of the church were laid on 12 September 1910 by King George I of Greece and it was consecrated on 22 June 1930. The church's interior paintings were created by the painter Giannis Karouzos (1937-2013). It took him 23 years to complete the painting of the 6,000 m2 surface of the interior walls of the church.Other sources consider Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Patras, and not Church of Saint Panteleimon of Acharnai, as the largest orthodox church in Greece.

Ericea or Erikeia (Ancient Greek: Ἐρίκεια) was a deme of ancient Attica, located near the modern Kypseli. The name of the deme probably derives from the erica plant, which grew abundantly in the hilly territory of the area.

Agios Nikolaos (Greek: Άγιος Νικόλαος), also known as Aghios Nikolaos on signage, is on Athens Metro Line 1. It opened on 12 February 1956 and is 13.164 kilometres (8.180 mi) from Piraeus.

Panellinios Indoor Hall, or Panellinios AC Indoor Hall, is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena that is located in the district of Kypseli, Athens, Greece. The arena can host basketball, volleyball, and handball matches. The arena is small, with a permanent seating capacity 1,100, and a capacity of 1,800 spectators with temporary seating.The arena has modern locker room facilities for the home and visiting teams, for the referees and the game judges, a complete press room, an anti-doping control room, club management offices, and a fully furnished press room for the media. The arena is owned by Panellinios G.S.

Kypseli (Greek: Κυψέλη, pronounced [ciˈpseli]) is a neighbourhood in central Athens, Greece. It occupies much of the 6th municipal department of the municipality of Athens, and has a population of around 65,000.

The Hellenic Military Geographical Service or HMGS (Greek: Γεωγραφική Υπηρεσία Στρατού or Γ.Υ.Σ.), is the Hellenic Military's mapping agency.

Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB; Greek: Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, Oikonomiko Panepistimio Athinon, abbrev. ΟΠΑ, OPA) was founded in 1920 in Athens, Greece and is the oldest university in Greece in the field of economics. Before 1989, the university was known in Greek as the Supreme School of Economics and Business (Ανωτάτη Σχολή Οικονομικών και Εμπορικών Επιστημών, Anotati Scholi Oikonomikon kai Emborikon Epistimon, abbrev. ΑΣΟΕΕ, ASOEE). Though the university of business's official name has changed, it is still known popularly in Greek by this former acronym.

The Pedion tou Areos or Pedion Areos (Greek: Πεδίον του Άρεως or Πεδίον Άρεως, pronounced [peˈðion tu ˈareos], meaning Field of Ares, corresponding to the French Champ de Mars and the ancient Campus Martius) is one of the largest public parks in Athens, Greece. It is also the name of the wider neighborhood.

Victoria (Greek: Βικτώρια, Viktoria) is on Athens Metro Line 1, between Omonia and Attiki. It is named after the British monarch Queen Victoria.The station is underground, beneath Victoria Square, and was recently renovated. It is the first underground station of the northern group of Line 1 stations. The central station, Omonia, is also underground. The architectural style of the station is Art Deco and the walls are covered with light blue tiles in contrast with the tiles of the Omonia station, which are dark yellow. Before and after the renovation, the station's name is shown in big white labels that were made in Germany by Emaillierwerk Gottfried Dichanz. The concept of the station is very similar to the stations in Berlin, the stairs in this concept go directly to the street. Victoria station is at 5 minutes walking distance from the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and from Athens University of Economics and Business.

Viktoria Square (originally Kyriakou Square) is a large square in the Municipality of Athens, Greece between 3 September and Aristotelous streets. It was renamed Viktoria in honor of the Queen of the United Kingdom on the occasion of the annexation of the Ionian Islands to Greece in 1864, as a gift to the enthronement of the Queen's nephew, Prince Christian William Ferdinand Adolf George of Denmark, later George I of Greece. Underneath the square passes the Athens Electric Railway at the homonymous stop. The square crosses the streets of Hayden, 3 September and Aristotelous; in its center is the sculptural complex Theseus saves Hippodamia by Johannes Pfuhl (1846–1914). Around the square, the homonymous district has been developed. Since the 1940s the district has been one of Athens' best and most sought after, comparable to Kolonaki. On its streets there are important examples of classical modernism, such as the Spathari block (Mavrommatia street), the Sarantopoulos block (27 Derigni street), as well as the buildings on Heiden 1 and 2. The luxurious apartments of these buildings were addressed to the bourgeoisie of Athens at the time, since they provided a variety of amenities and had high quality architectural elements. Gradually, the area began to decline, largely due to its abandonment by its original inhabitants. The neighborhood today is generally regarded as degraded and facing problems of crime.Since the worst days there has been an improvement in the neighborhood around the square, which is linked to the general upgrading of downtown Athens.
