Students take Islamic Studies, Arabic language, and Quran classes. The school motto is "Where Islam and Education come together." Universal School was officially founded in 1989, and opened on September 4, 1990, to 140 students and 11 faculty members.As of 2016 the superintendent is a Syrian American man named Safaa Zarzour, who also served as the head of the Chicago office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The Coffey School of Aeronautics was a flight school at Harlem Airport in Oak Lawn, Illinois, founded by Cornelius Coffey and Willa Brown. It was the first flight school owned and operated by African-Americans in the United States. The school opened in 1940 and closed after World War II. While it was open, it trained African-American pilots as part of the Civilian Pilot Training Program; many of these pilots went on to join the Tuskegee Airmen.

Chicago Ridge Mall, formerly Westfield Chicago Ridge from 2004 to 2012, is a shopping mall in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. The mall includes one anchor store (Kohl's), as well as Aldi, Michaels arts and crafts store, Dick's Sporting Goods, AMC Theatres and a food court. It was built in 1981, and expanded in 1986. The station is located just north of the Village Hall and Police Station on Ridgeland Avenue between Washington Avenue and 105th Street, and west of the B&OCT/IHB Railroad's crossing at grade and the Stony Creek Golf Course. Parking is available not only at the station, but behind the Police Station, along Birmingham Street, Oxford Avenue, and north of the tracks at the corner of Ridgeland Avenue and 103rd Street.

As of 2018, Worth is the 119th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 406 weekday boardings.As of January 16, 2023, Worth is served by 28 trains (14 in each direction) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended. Worth consists of two side platforms which serve the SouthWest Service's two tracks. There is an unattended waiting room on the inbound platform which is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Parking is available on both side of the tracks, east of Harlem Avenue (IL 43).
