Chicago Ridge station

Chicago Ridge is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 14,433.

Chicago Ridge Mall, formerly Westfield Chicago Ridge from 2004 to 2012, is a shopping mall in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. The mall includes one anchor store (Kohl's), as well as Aldi, Michaels arts and crafts store, Dick's Sporting Goods, AMC Theatres and a food court. It was built in 1981, and expanded in 1986. In April 2012, Westfield sold the mall to Starwood Capital Group, with JLL responsible for management.

Helen Morgan (née Riggins; August 2, 1900 – October 9, 1941) was an American singer and actress who worked in films and on the stage. A quintessential torch singer, she made a big splash in the Chicago club scene in the 1920s. She starred as Julie LaVerne in the original Broadway production of Hammerstein and Kern's musical Show Boat in 1927, as well as in the 1932 Broadway revival of the musical, and appeared in two film adaptations, a part-talkie made in 1929 (prologue only) and a full-sound version made in 1936, becoming firmly associated with the role. She suffered from bouts of alcoholism, and despite her notable success in the title role of another Hammerstein and Kern's Broadway musical, Sweet Adeline (1929), her stage career was relatively short. Helen Morgan died of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 41. She was portrayed by Polly Bergen in the Playhouse 90 drama The Helen Morgan Story and by Ann Blyth in the 1957 biopic based on the television drama.

George Edmund Gorman (April 13, 1873 – January 13, 1935) was a U.S. Representative from Illinois.

Frank McErlane (1894–1932) was a Prohibition-era Irish-American organized crime figure. He led the Saltis-McErlane Gang, allied with Rusyn American gangster Joseph Saltis and the Johnny Torrio-Al Capone led Chicago Outfit, against rival Irish-American bootleggers, the Southside O'Donnell Gang. He is credited with introducing the Thompson submachine gun to Chicago's underworld. The Illinois Crime Survey called him "the most brutal gunman who ever pulled a trigger in Chicago."

Worth is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States, a suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 10,970.

Worth is a station on Metra's SouthWest Service in Worth, Illinois. The station is 17.8 miles (28.6 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Worth is in zone D. As of 2018, Worth is the 119th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 406 weekday boardings.As of January 16, 2023, Worth is served by 28 trains (14 in each direction) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended. Worth consists of two side platforms which serve the SouthWest Service's two tracks. There is an unattended waiting room on the inbound platform which is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Parking is available on both side of the tracks, east of Harlem Avenue (IL 43).

Harold L. Richards High School is a co-ed Public high school located in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and is a member of Illinois school District 218. The school opened in 1965, named for District Superintendent Dr. Harold Leland Richards who served in that capacity for 33 years from 1935-1968. Dr. Richards served as a private in the army in WWI, as a Major in the Army Air Corp in WWII, and eventually rose to Lt. Colonel in the Reserves and called back into active duty during the Korean War. After graduating from Pennsylvania Military College in 1920, he taught in Indiana, was superintendent of Michigamme, Michigan schools, and headed the Iowa Military Academy in Epworth, Iowa before coming to District 218. In addition to PMC, he held multiple degrees from the University of Chicago. Dr. Richards died in January 1988 at the age of 88.

Universal School is an Islamic, religious, K-12 private school, that is located in Bridgeview, Illinois, in the Chicago metropolitan area. Students take Islamic Studies, Arabic language, and Quran classes. The school motto is "Where Islam and Education come together." Universal School was officially founded in 1989, and opened on September 4, 1990, to 140 students and 11 faculty members.As of 2016 the superintendent is a Syrian American man named Safaa Zarzour, who also served as the head of the Chicago office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).
