Harkmark

Halse og Harkmark is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 105-square-kilometre (41 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Halse, which at that time was a suburb of the town of Mandal. It was located in the southern part of the municipality of Mandal. The municipality of Halse og Harkmark encompassed the rural areas that surrounded the town of Mandal, including many islands such as Hille, Skjernøy, and Pysen (Norway's southernmost point). It is now located within Lindesnes Municipality in what is now Agder county.

Harkmark Church (Norwegian: Harkmark kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Lindesnes Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Harkmark. It is one of the two churches for the Mandal parish which is part of the Lister og Mandal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1613 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 135 people.

Skogsøy is an island in Lindesnes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The island is separated from the mainland by the Skogsøysund strait which is about 500 metres (1,600 ft) long and about 30 to 70 metres (98 to 230 ft) wide. There is one bridge, Skogsøysundbrua, which connects the island to the mainland. The Skogsøysundbrua is 8 metres (26 ft) long and 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) above the water. The islands of Skjernøy and Pysen both lie about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) to the west and southwest respectively. The island has a long history, ranging hundreds of years back in time. The name "Skogsøy" could be directly translated to "forest island". Even though there is a considerable amount of forest on the island, it has nothing to do with the name. Skogsøy is the original site of the company Skogsøy Båtbyggeri, a boat building company. Skogsøy Båtbyggeri was purchased by Båtservice Gruppen in 2006, and all boat production was moved off Skogsøy to other locations.

Trysfjorden is a fjord located in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The mouth of the 6.5-kilometre (4.0 mi) long fjord sits just west of the village of Trysnes and just northeast of the village of Ålo. The European route E39 highway runs along the inner part of the fjord, just west of the village of Lohne. The deepest parts of the fjord reach about 85 metres (279 ft) deep. In the mud at the bottom, scientists have discovered crustaceans that they believe are indigenous to the bay. Trysfjord has several islands and islets. The islets of Storholmen, Notholmen, and Urholmen lie just outside of Røsstad. Near the villages of Trysnes and Lastad lies the island of Lastadholmen which in recent years has had the largest colony of terns in Southern Norway. The mouth of the fjord lies just south of Lastadholmen where the fjord empties into the Skaggerak.

Ålo is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the west side of the mouth of the Trysfjorden, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southwest of the village of Trysnes and about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of the village of Harkmark in neighboring Mandal municipality.

Krossen is a village in Lindesnes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located in the Mandalen valley, on the western shore of the river Mandalselva, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of the town of Mandal and about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) south of the village of Øyslebø. The village (also known as Holum) was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Holum which existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. Holum Church, built in 1825, is located in Krossen. The 0.48-square-kilometre (120-acre) village has a population (2019) of 620 and a population density of 1,301 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,370/sq mi).

Pysen is a small skerry in Lindesnes municipality in Agder, Norway. To the south of the small island of Skjernøy, the 250-square-metre (2,700 sq ft) rock is the southernmost point of Norway proper.

Skjernøy is an island in Lindesnes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The 5.6-square-kilometre (2.2 sq mi) island is the southernmost inhabited island in Norway. The island sits about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast of the town of Mandal, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west of the island of Skogsøy, and about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the small island of Pysen. The island of Skjernøy is connected to the mainland by the Skjernøysund Bridge. The island has about 400 residents, a school, and a chapel.

Holum is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The 116-square-kilometre (45 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The administrative centre was the village of Krossen where Holum Church is located. The municipality was located in the present-day municipality of Lindesnes in what is now Agder county.

Holum Church (Norwegian: Holum kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Lindesnes Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Krossen. It is the church for the Holum parish which is part of the Lister og Mandal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1825 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 480 people.

Ime is a village in Lindesnes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the east side of the river Mandalselva, along the European route E39 highway. Ime is an eastern suburb of the town of Mandal. Ime might be considered to be a "commuter town" with its residents living here, but working in Mandal. There is a school in Ime.

Trysnes is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the Trysfjorden, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the small village of Ålo on the opposite side of the fjord. The villages of Tangvall, Lunde, Ausviga, and Høllen all lie about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the east of Trysnes.
