UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center

The University of California Davis School of Medicine is the medical school of the University of California, Davis. Although the parent institution is near Davis, California, the medical school is in Sacramento, California.

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis was established in March 2009. The school was launched through a $100 million commitment from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the nation's largest grant for nursing education. The vision of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing is to transform health care through nursing education and research. The school currently offers two degrees, the Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science in Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership. Additional programs will be phased in over the next decade. The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing is part of UC Davis Health, an integrated academic health system encompassing the UC Davis School of Medicine, the 613-acute-care hospital and clinical services of UC Davis Medical Center and the 800-member physician group known as the UC Davis Medical Group. The school, located in Sacramento, California, is the fourth professional nursing program in the University of California system. The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing shares facilities with the UC Davis School of Medicine and the UC Davis Medical Center.

Elmhurst is a historic residential neighborhood located in the eastern part of Sacramento, California. Elmhurst is known for its large elm, ash, and oak trees that provide shady canopy for the neighborhood.

UC Davis Medical Center is part of UC Davis Health and a major academic health center located in Sacramento, California. It is owned and operated by the University of California as part of its University of California, Davis campus. The medical center sits on a 142-acre (57 ha) campus (often referred to as the Sacramento Campus to distinguish it from the main campus in nearby Davis) located between the Elmhurst, Tahoe Park, and Oak Park residential neighborhoods. The site incorporates the land and some of the buildings of the former Sacramento Medical Center (which was acquired from the County of Sacramento in 1973) as well as much of the land (and two buildings) previously occupied by the California State Fair until its 1967 move to a new location. The 646-bed hospital serves as key referral center for a 65,000-square-mile (170,000 km2) area that includes 33 counties and 6 million residents. It operates inland Northern California's only level I trauma center for both adult and pediatric emergencies and maintains a staff of specialists and researchers in more than 150 areas of health care.UC Davis Medical Center ranked among the nation's top hospitals for 2020–21 in 9 adult medical specialties and 4 children's medical specialties, and it is the 6th best hospital in California, according to an annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals survey published in July 2020.The medical center is the primary teaching hospital affiliated with the UC Davis School of Medicine. The hospital, medical school, Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and UC Davis Medical Group together comprise UC Davis Health, a brand of the nearby University of California, Davis.

California State Fairgrounds Race Track has been the name of two dirt oval racing tracks located in Sacramento, California. The track was built in 1906 for horse racing on the site of the California Exposition. It was active for auto racing in 1907, 1912, and from 1946 until 1970. The Exposition moved to a new site north of Downtown Sacramento in 1968, and the old fairgrounds were closed and sold for development in 1970. The final day of the track was marred by tragedy when three drivers were killed in the 100-lap super-modified caged sprint car competition.From 1949 to 1970, the track hosted the Golden State 100, a round of the AAA/USAC National Championship. The race was revived at the new Cal Expo site as a USAC Silver Crown race from 1989 until 2000. Motorcycle racing's Sacramento Mile continues to be held at the new California Exposition as part of the AMA Grand National Championship. A 2.1-mile (3.4-km) road course was laid out in the parking lots surrounding the oval, and used for sports car racing between 1955 and 1969. It hosted a SCCA National Sports Car Championship round in 1955.

48th Street is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in the Elmherst neighborhood of Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on July 14, 1994, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by the Gold Line. The station is located near the intersection of 48th Street and Highway 50. Included originally as part of the network, both this and the 39th Street station were deferred and not constructed in 1987 due to intense neighborhood opposition. However, both would open as infill stations in July 1994 due to a shift in attitude towards the rail project following its successful opening from the surrounding neighborhoods.

Dunlap's Dining Room was a restaurant operated out of the residence of black entrepreneur George T. Dunlap in Sacramento, California. The business was popular in its time and building is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

East Lawn Memorial Park is a cemetery in East Sacramento, California. It is owned by East Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries, which also owns two other Sacramento area cemeteries. Founded in 1904, it is the resting place of several former Mayors of Sacramento as well as other public figures.

39th Street/UC Davis Health (originally 39th Street) is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Sacramento, California, United States. The Julia Morgan House is a Mediterranean Revival mansion, located in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Sacramento, California, constructed by Julia Morgan, the first woman licensed to practice architecture in California. The home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was gifted to Sacramento State University by Charles Goethe after his death in 1966.

Sacramento Charter High School ("Sac High") is an independent public charter high school in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, California. Originally founded in 1856, Sacramento High is the second oldest public high school in California. In 2003, the school adopted its current form as a charter school within the Sacramento City Unified School District.

Mercy General Hospital is a not-for-profit private community hospital located in the East Sacramento neighborhood of Sacramento, CA. The hospital has 342 beds and over 2,000 clinical staff, and serves as the major Cardiac Surgery referral center for the Greater Sacramento Service Area Dignity Hospitals, as well as for Kaiser Permanente. The Mercy Heart Institute and the Mercy Stroke Center are key features of the hospital. It is a member of the Dignity Health network. In 2014, The Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Center was opened. This four story addition to the hospital added: 71 private, family-friendly patient rooms, 21-bed cardiac ambulatory procedure area, 20-bed cardiac surgery ICU, dedicated Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), and a new interventional cardiac catheterization lab. With this expansion all cardiopulmonary services were brought under one roof: Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Support Unit, Cardiopulmonary Services (Respiratory Care, EKG, Echo), and Electrophysiology.
