Munger, DuPage County, Illinois

Munger Road is a road in DuPage and Cook counties in Illinois, running through the villages of Bartlett and Wayne. It runs north–south for 4.12 miles (6.63 km) from West Bartlett Road to Smith Road. The railroad crossing near Stearns Road is said to be the site of supernatural activity as noted in a 2011 movie Munger Road.

Wayne is a village in DuPage and Kane counties, Illinois, United States. The eastern portion, in DuPage County, is in Wayne Township, while the western portion, in Kane County, is in St. Charles Township. The population was 2,286 as of the 2020 census.In the late 19th and early 20th century, Wayne was a prominent center of horse breeding and farming research. The community, situated in a small, rural valley, was known for breeding French Percheron horses, a draught horse similar to a Clydesdale. Wayne was founded in the 1800s at the same time as the similarly named Wayne Center. Wayne Center was located on Army Trail Road at DuPage River crossing and no longer exists. "Downtown" Wayne was originally a railroad outpost built along Glos Street and Army Trail Road. The village is much smaller than the cities that surround it. This is partially due to the native Oak savanna landscape between the DuPage and Fox rivers, with Tallgrass prairies that retain a large amount of water in the spring season. The village is surrounded by these prairies on three sides, and has taken steps to maintain them in their natural state.

It is part of Elgin Area School District U46, which also includes Elgin High School, Larkin High School, South Elgin High School, and Streamwood High School. The school was opened in August 1997 as the fourth high school in the Elgin Area School District U46.

Bartlett is a commuter railroad station in Bartlett, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. The station is 30.1 miles (48.4 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. It is served by Metra's Milwaukee District West Line, with service to Union Station in downtown Chicago, and northwest to Elgin. As of 2018, Bartlett is the 53rd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 988 weekday boardings. Travel time to Union Station ranges from 51 minutes to 1 hour and 11 minutes, with faster times on peak trains. As of December 12, 2022, Bartlett is served by 42 trains (20 inbound, 22 outbound) on weekdays, by all 24 trains (12 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. The station is at South Oak Avenue and West Bartlett Avenue in downtown Bartlett.

Oaklawn Farm is a historic property in Wayne, Illinois. The farm was operated by the Dunham family, who successfully bred Percheron horses. The property features the chateauesque Dunham Castle, which was built by Mark Wentworth Dunham in 1880. Nine other buildings from the time period still stand on the property, which is still used as the Dunham Woods Riding Club. The farm was recognized by the National Park Service as a Historic Place in 1979.
