Sweetwater is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The city is part of the Miami metropolitan area of South Florida. As of the 2020 census, the population was 19,363, up from 13,499 in 2010.

La Covacha, was a high-end international restaurant, nightclub, and live concert venue in Miami, Florida, United States. Teresa and Aurelio Rodriguez opened the venue in 1989 as a cafeteria. A year later Aurelio created the nightclub and live music venue. Now permanently closed.

Dolphin Mall is an outlet shopping mall in Sweetwater, Miami-Dade County, Florida, west of the city of Miami. There are over 240 retail outlets and name-brand discounters as anchors. The mall opened in March 2001, the first of four Taubman Centers malls to open that year. (The others are: The Shops at Willow Bend north of Dallas, Texas, International Plaza and Bay Street in Tampa, and The Mall at Wellington Green in Wellington in Palm Beach County.) The mall is built like the "Mills" outlet malls owned by Simon Property Group, which include South Florida's largest outlet mall and Dolphin's main competitor, Sawgrass Mills, and similar to Taubman's other outlet mall, Great Lakes Crossing. However, the mall is divided into three districts: Playa (Beach), Ramblas (Boulevards), and Moda (Fashion), and has nine zones. With 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of retail selling space, it is the second-largest mall in Miami-Dade County. Being near Florida International University, it is a popular hang-out place for students.A few years prior when the mall was first planned, Dolphin Mall was to have over 2,200,000 sq ft (200,000 m2), a roller coaster, a 28-screen Regal Cinemas, and over 300 shops. Once Taubman Centers owned property rights in 2000, the center was downsized to its current 1,400,000 sq ft (130,000 m2), no roller coaster, and a 19-screen Cobb Theaters in the second level in the "Ramblas" Zone.

Miami International Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Doral, Florida in southwestern Metropolitan Miami, only half a mile away from the larger Dolphin Mall. The Miami International Airport is nearby, thus giving the mall its name. It was built by the Edward J. DeBartolo Corp. in 1982, and is currently managed by Simon Property Group, who owns 47.8% of it. The mall features retailers J. C. Penney, Kohl's, Macy's, and Macy's Men's Store.

J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School is a public comprehensive high school in Doral, Florida. It is a part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Its namesake is Juan Carlos Bermudez, the Mayor of Doral. Its attendance boundary map includes central Doral and points west to the boundary of Miami-Dade County.

Doral has operated under the mayor-council-manager form of government since incorporation. Policymaking and legislative authority are vested in a governing council consisting of the mayor and four other councilmembers. The council, which is elected at large, is responsible for passing ordinances and resolutions, adopting the annual budget, and appointing the city manager, city clerk and city attorney. The city manager is responsible for carrying out the council's policies and ordinances, overseeing the government's daily operations, and appointing the heads of various departments. For a city of its size, Doral has many shops, financial institutions and businesses, especially importers and exporters, primarily because of its proximity to the airport. In 2008, Fortune Small Business and CNN Money ranked Doral 51st on a list of 100 cities with the best mix of business advantages and lifestyle appeal. The city was named a 2019 All-America City Award finalist and one of the Best Places to Live in 2018 by Money magazine.

The Doral Open was a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in the southeastern United States. It was played annually for 45 seasons, from 1962 to 2006, on the "Blue Monster" course at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida, a suburb west of Miami. The introduction of the FedEx Cup in 2007 caused a change in the PGA Tour schedule. The WGC-CA Championship, a World Golf Championship event co-sponsored by the PGA Tour, moved from October to March and took the Doral Open's spot on the schedule. This championship was also held at the Blue Monster course for the next decade; it was renamed the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2011 and continued at Doral through 2016. The resort was sold in 2012 and became Trump National Doral Miami. The PGA Tour Latinoamérica development tour will host the season-ending Shell Championship in December 2018 on the Golden Palm course to continue the PGA Tour's tradition of hosting at Doral.
